Hierauf begab sich Jesus auf die andere Seite des Galiläischen Sees, des Sees von Tiberias;

PASADAS estas cosas, fuése Jesús de la otra parte de la mar de Galilea, que es de Tiberias.

After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.

After these things, Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is also called the Sea of Tiberias.

es zog ihm aber dorthin eine große Volksmenge nach, weil sie die Wunderzeichen sahen, die er an den Kranken tat.

Y seguíale grande multitud, porque veían sus señales que hacía en los enfermos.

And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.

Jesus stieg aber auf den Berg hinauf und ließ sich dort mit seinen Jüngern nieder;

das jüdische Passah stand aber nahe bevor.

Y estaba cerca la Pascua, la fiesta de los Judíos.

And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.

Als nun Jesus sich dort umschaute und eine große Volksmenge zu sich kommen sah, sagte er zu Philippus: »Woher sollen wir Brote kaufen, damit diese zu essen haben?«

Y como alzó Jesús los ojos, y vió que había venido á él grande multitud, dice á Felipe: ¿De dónde compraremos pan para que coman éstos?

When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

Jesus therefore, lifting up his eyes and seeing that a great multitude was coming to him, said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?”

So fragte er aber, um ihn auf die Probe zu stellen; denn er selbst wußte wohl, was er tun wollte.

Mas esto decía para probarle; porque él sabía lo que había de hacer.

And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.

Philippus antwortete ihm: »Für zweihundert Denare Brot reicht für sie nicht hin, damit jeder auch nur ein kleines Stück erhält.«

Respondióle Felipe: Doscientos denarios de pan no les bastarán, para que cada uno de ellos tome un poco.

Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may receive a little.”

Da sagte einer von seinen Jüngern, nämlich Andreas, der Bruder des Simon Petrus, zu ihm:

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,

»Es ist ein Knabe hier, der fünf Gerstenbrote und zwei Fische (zum Verkauf bei sich) hat, doch was ist das für so viele?«

Un muchacho está aquí que tiene cinco panes de cebada y dos pececillos; ¿mas qué es esto entre tantos?

There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these among so many?”

Jesus aber sagte: »Laßt die Leute sich lagern!«, es war nämlich dichter Rasen an dem Ort. So lagerten sich denn die Männer, etwa fünftausend an Zahl.

Entonces Jesús dijo: Haced recostar la gente. Y había mucha hierba en aquel lugar: y recostáronse como número de cinco mil varones.

And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in that place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

Jesus nahm sodann die Brote, sprach den Lobpreis (Gottes) und ließ sie unter die Leute austeilen, die sich gelagert hatten; ebenso auch von den Fischen, soviel sie begehrten.

Y tomó Jesús aquellos panes, y habiendo dado gracias, repartió á los discípulos, y los discípulos á los que estaban recostados: asimismo de los peces, cuanto querían.

And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down, likewise also of the fish as much as they desired.

Als sie dann satt geworden waren, sagte er zu seinen Jüngern: »Sammelt die übriggebliebenen Brocken, damit nichts umkommt.«

Y como fueron saciados, dijo á sus discípulos: Recoged los pedazos que han quedado, porque no se pierda nada.

When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

When they were filled, he said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces which are left over, that nothing be lost.”

Da sammelten sie und füllten von den fünf Gerstenbroten zwölf Körbe mit Brocken, die beim Essen übriggeblieben waren.

Cogieron pues, é hinchieron doce cestas de pedazos de los cinco panes de cebada, que sobraron á los que habían comido.

Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which were left over by those who had eaten.

Als nun die Leute das Wunderzeichen sahen, das er getan hatte, erklärten sie: »Dieser ist wahrhaftig der Prophet, der in die Welt kommen soll!«

Aquellos hombres entonces, como vieron la señal que Jesús había hecho, decían: Este verdaderamente es el profeta que había de venir al mundo.

Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

When therefore the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they said, “This is truly the prophet who comes into the world.”

Da nun Jesus erkannte, daß sie kommen und sich seiner Person mit Gewalt bemächtigen würden, um ihn zum König zu machen, zog er sich wieder auf den Berg zurück, er für sich allein.

Y entendiendo Jesús que habían de venir para arrebatarle, y hacerle rey, volvió á retirarse al monte, él solo.

When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

Jesus therefore, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.

Als es dann Abend geworden war, gingen seine Jünger an den See hinab,

Y como se hizo tarde, descendieron sus discípulos á la mar;

And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,

When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea.

stiegen in ein Boot und wollten über den See nach Kapernaum hinüberfahren. Die Dunkelheit war bereits eingetreten und Jesus immer noch nicht zu ihnen gekommen;

Y entrando en un barco, venían de la otra parte de la mar hacia Capernaum. Y era ya oscuro, y Jesús no había venido á ellos.

And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.

They entered into the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.

dabei ging der See hoch, weil ein starker Wind wehte.

Y levantábase la mar con un gran viento que soplaba.

And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.

The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.

Als sie nun etwa fünfundzwanzig bis dreißig Stadien weit gefahren waren, sahen sie Jesus über den See hingehen und sich ihrem Boote nähern; da gerieten sie in Angst.

Y como hubieron navegado como veinticinco ó treinta estadios, ven á Jesús que andaba sobre la mar, y se acercaba al barco: y tuvieron miedo.

So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.

When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were afraid.

Er aber rief ihnen zu:

Mas él les dijo: Yo soy; no tengáis miedo.

But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

But he said to them, “It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

»Ich bin’s; fürchtet euch nicht!« Sie wollten ihn nun in das Boot hineinnehmen, doch sogleich befand sich das Boot am Lande, (und zwar da) wohin sie fahren wollten.

Ellos entonces gustaron recibirle en el barco: y luego el barco llegó á la tierra donde iban.

Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat. Immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

Am folgenden Tage überzeugte sich die Volksmenge, die am jenseitigen Ufer des Sees stand, daß dort weiter kein Fahrzeug außer dem einen gewesen war und daß Jesus nicht mit seinen Jüngern zusammen das Boot bestiegen hatte, sondern daß seine Jünger allein abgefahren waren.

El día siguiente, la gente que estaba de la otra parte de la mar, como vió que no había allí otra navecilla sino una, y que Jesús no había entrado con sus discípulos en ella, sino que sus discípulos se habían ido solos;

The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;

On the next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except the one in which his disciples had embarked, and that Jesus hadn’t entered with his disciples into the boat, but his disciples had gone away alone.

Doch es kamen jetzt andere Fahrzeuge von Tiberias her in die Nähe des Platzes, wo sie das Brot nach dem Dankgebet des Herrn gegessen hatten.

Y que otras navecillas habían arribado de Tiberias junto al lugar donde habían comido el pan después de haber el Señor dado gracias;

(Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)

However, boats from Tiberias came near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

Als die Volksmenge nun sah, daß Jesus ebensowenig da war wie seine Jünger, stiegen auch sie in die Fahrzeuge und kamen nach Kapernaum, um Jesus zu suchen.

Como vió pues la gente que Jesús no estaba allí, ni sus discípulos, entraron ellos en las navecillas, y vinieron á Capernaum buscando á Jesús.

When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

When the multitude therefore saw that Jesus wasn’t there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

Als sie ihn dann auf der anderen Seite des Sees angetroffen hatten, fragten sie ihn: »Rabbi, wann bist du hierher gekommen?«

Y hallándole de la otra parte de la mar, dijéronle: Rabbí, ¿cuándo llegaste acá?

And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”

Jesus antwortete ihnen: »Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Ihr sucht mich nicht deshalb, weil ihr Wunderzeichen gesehen, sondern weil ihr von den Broten gegessen habt und satt geworden seid.

Respondióles Jesús, y dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo, que me buscáis, no porque habéis visto las señales, sino porque comisteis el pan y os hartasteis.

Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

Verschafft euch doch nicht die Speise, die vergänglich ist, sondern die Speise, die für das ewige Leben vorhält und die der Menschensohn euch geben wird; denn diesen hat Gott der Vater besiegelt.«

Trabajad no por la comida que perece, mas por la comida que á vida eterna permanece, la cual el Hijo del hombre os dará: porque á éste señaló el Padre, que es Dios.

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him.”

Da entgegneten sie ihm: »Was sollen wir denn tun, um die Werke Gottes zu wirken?«

Y dijéronle: ¿Qué haremos para que obremos las obras de Dios?

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

They said therefore to him, “What must we do, that we may work the works of God?”

Jesus antwortete ihnen mit den Worten: »Das Werk Gottes besteht darin, daß ihr an den glaubt, den er gesandt hat.«

Respondió Jesús, y díjoles: Esta es la obra de Dios, que creáis en el que él ha enviado.

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

Da fragten sie ihn: »Welches Zeichen tust du nun, damit wir es sehen und zum Glauben an dich kommen? Womit kannst du dich ausweisen?

Dijéronle entonces: ¿Qué señal pues haces tú, para que veamos, y te creamos? ¿Qué obras?

They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

They said therefore to him, “What then do you do for a sign, that we may see and believe you? What work do you do?

Unsere Väter haben das Manna in der Wüste zu essen bekommen, wie geschrieben steht: ›Brot aus dem Himmel gab er ihnen zu essen.‹«

Nuestros padres comieron el maná en el desierto, como está escrito: Pan del cielo les dió á comer.

Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, ‘He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.’”

Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: »Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Nicht Mose hat euch das Himmelsbrot gegeben, sondern mein Vater gibt euch das wahre Himmelsbrot;

Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: No os dió Moisés pan del cielo; mas mi Padre os da el verdadero pan del cielo.

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn’t Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven.

denn das Brot Gottes ist das, welches aus dem Himmel herabkommt und der Welt Leben gibt.«

Porque el pan de Dios es aquel que descendió del cielo y da vida al mundo.

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.”

Da riefen sie ihm zu: »Herr, gib uns dieses Brot allezeit!«

Y dijéronle: Señor, danos siempre este pan.

Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

They said therefore to him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”

Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: »Ich bin das Brot des Lebens! Wer zu mir kommt, den wird nimmermehr hungern, und wer an mich glaubt, den wird niemals wieder dürsten.

Y Jesús les dijo: Yo soy el pan de vida: el que á mí viene, nunca tendrá hambre; y el que en mí cree, no tendrá sed jamás.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will not be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Aber ich habe euch (schon) gesagt: Ihr habt mich wohl gesehen, glaubt aber doch nicht.

Mas os he dicho, que aunque me habéis visto, no creéis.

But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

But I told you that you have seen me, and yet you don’t believe.

Alles, was der Vater mir gibt, wird zu mir kommen, und wer zu mir kommt, den werde ich nimmer hinausstoßen;

Todo lo que el Padre me da, vendrá á mí; y al que á mí viene, no le hecho fuera.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.

denn ich bin aus dem Himmel herabgekommen, nicht um meinen Willen auszuführen, sondern den Willen dessen, der mich gesandt hat.

Porque he descendido del cielo, no para hacer mi voluntad, mas la voluntad del que me envió.

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

Das aber ist der Wille dessen, der mich gesandt hat, daß ich von allem dem, was er mir gegeben hat, nichts verloren gehen lasse, sondern es am jüngsten Tage auferwecke.

Y esta es la voluntad del que me envió, del Padre: Que todo lo que me diere, no pierda de ello, sino que lo resucite en el día postrero.

And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.

Denn das ist der Wille meines Vaters, daß jeder, der den Sohn sieht und an ihn glaubt, ewiges Leben habe, und ich werde ihn am jüngsten Tage auferwecken.«

Y esta es la voluntad del que me ha enviado: Que todo aquel que ve al Hijo, y cree en él, tenga vida eterna: y yo le resucitaré en el día postrero.

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Da murrten die Juden über ihn, weil er gesagt hatte: »Ich bin das Brot, das aus dem Himmel herabgekommen ist«,

Murmuraban entonces de él los Judíos, porque había dicho: Yo soy el pan que descendí del cielo.

The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said, “I am the bread which came down out of heaven.”

und sie sagten: »Ist dieser nicht Jesus, Josephs Sohn, dessen Vater und Mutter wir kennen? Wie kann er da jetzt behaupten: ›Ich bin aus dem Himmel herabgekommen?‹«

Y decían: ¿No es éste Jesús, el hijo de José, cuyo padre y madre nosotros conocemos? ¿cómo, pues, dice éste: Del cielo he descendido?

And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

They said, “Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, ‘I have come down out of heaven’?”

Jesus antwortete ihnen mit den Worten: »Murret nicht untereinander!

Y Jesús respondió, y díjoles: No murmuréis entre vosotros.

Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

Therefore Jesus answered them, “Don’t murmur among yourselves.

Niemand kann zu mir kommen, wenn nicht der Vater, der mich gesandt hat, ihn zieht, und ich werde ihn dann am jüngsten Tage auferwecken.

Ninguno puede venir á mí, si el Padre que me envió no le trajere; y yo le resucitaré en el día postrero.

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up in the last day.

Es steht ja bei den Propheten geschrieben: ›Sie werden alle von Gott gelehrt sein.‹ Jeder, der (es) vom Vater gehört und gelernt hat, kommt zu mir.

Escrito está en los profetas: Y serán todos enseñados de Dios. Así que, todo aquel que oyó del Padre, y aprendió, viene á mí.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

It is written in the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who hears from the Father and has learned, comes to me.

Nicht als ob jemand den Vater gesehen hätte; denn nur der eine, der von Gott her (gekommen) ist, nur der hat den Vater gesehen.

No que alguno haya visto al Padre, sino aquel que vino de Dios, éste ha visto al Padre.

Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father.

Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Wer da glaubt, hat ewiges Leben!

De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que cree en mí, tiene vida eterna.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life.

Ich bin das Brot des Lebens.

Yo soy el pan de vida.

I am that bread of life.

I am the bread of life.

Eure Väter haben in der Wüste das Manna gegessen und sind dann doch gestorben;

Vuestros padres comieron el maná en el desierto, y son muertos.

Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died.

hier dagegen ist das Brot, das aus dem Himmel herabkommt, damit man davon esse und nicht sterbe.

Este es el pan que desciende del cielo, para que el que de él comiere, no muera.

This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.

Ich bin das lebendige Brot, das aus dem Himmel herabgekommen ist: wenn jemand von diesem Brote ißt, so wird er ewiglich leben; und zwar ist das Brot, das ich (zu essen) geben werde, mein Fleisch, (das ich geben werde) für das Leben der Welt.«

Yo soy el pan vivo que he descendido del cielo: si alguno comiere de este pan, vivirá para siempre; y el pan que yo daré es mi carne, la cual yo daré por la vida del mundo.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

Nun gerieten die Juden in Streit untereinander und sagten: »Wie kann dieser uns sein Fleisch zu essen geben?«

Entonces los Judíos contendían entre sí, diciendo: ¿Cómo puede éste darnos su carne á comer?

The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”

Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: »Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Wenn ihr nicht das Fleisch des Menschensohnes eßt und sein Blut trinkt, so habt ihr kein Leben in euch;

Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: Si no comiereis la carne del Hijo del hombre, y bebiereis su sangre, no tendréis vida en vosotros.

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don’t have life in yourselves.

wer (dagegen) mein Fleisch ißt und mein Blut trinkt, der hat ewiges Leben, und ich werde ihn am jüngsten Tage auferwecken.

El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre, tiene vida eterna: y yo le resucitaré en el día postrero.

Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Denn mein Fleisch ist wahre Speise, und mein Blut ist wahrer Trank.

Porque mi carne es verdadera comida, y mi sangre es verdadera bebida.

For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

Wer mein Fleisch ißt und mein Blut trinkt, bleibt in mir und ich in ihm.

El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre, en mí permanece, y yo en él.

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.

Wie mich mein Vater, der das Leben in sich trägt, gesandt hat und ich Leben in mir trage um des Vaters willen, so wird auch der, welcher mich ißt, das Leben haben um meinetwillen.

Como me envió el Padre viviente, y yo vivo por el Padre, asimismo el que me come, él también vivirá por mí.

As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

Von solcher Beschaffenheit ist das Brot, das aus dem Himmel herabgekommen ist; es ist nicht von der Art, wie die Väter es gegessen haben und gestorben sind; nein, wer dieses Brot ißt, wird leben in Ewigkeit.«

Este es el pan que descendió del cielo: no como vuestros padres comieron el maná, y son muertos: el que come de este pan, vivirá eternamente.

This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

So sprach Jesus, als er in der Synagoge zu Kapernaum lehrte.

Viele nun von seinen Jüngern, die ihm zugehört hatten, erklärten: »Das ist eine harte Rede: wer kann sie anhören?«

Y muchos de sus discípulos oyéndolo, dijeron: Dura es esta palabra: ¿quién la puede oir?

Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

Weil aber Jesus bei sich wußte, daß seine Jünger darüber murrten, sagte er zu ihnen: »Das ist euch anstößig?

Y sabiendo Jesús en sí mismo que sus discípulos murmuraban de esto, díjoles: ¿Esto os escandaliza?

When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

Wie nun (wird es sein), wenn ihr den Menschensohn dahin auffahren seht, wo er vordem war?

¿Pues qué, si viereis al Hijo del hombre que sube donde estaba primero?

What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

Der Geist ist es, der das Leben schafft, das Fleisch hilft nichts; die Worte, die ich zu euch geredet habe, sind Geist und sind Leben;

El espíritu es el que da vida; la carne nada aprovecha: las palabras que yo os he hablado, son espíritu, y son vida.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.

aber es sind unter euch auch solche, die nicht glauben.« Jesus wußte nämlich von Anfang an, wer die waren, welche ungläubig blieben, und wer der war, der ihn verraten würde.

Mas hay algunos de vosotros que no creen. Porque Jesús desde el principio sabía quiénes eran los que no creían, y quién le había de entregar.

But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

Er fuhr dann fort: »Aus diesem Grunde habe ich euch gesagt: ›Niemand kann zu mir kommen, wenn es ihm nicht vom Vater verliehen ist.‹«

Y dijo: Por eso os he dicho que ninguno puede venir á mí, si no le fuere dado del Padre.

And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

He said, “For this cause I have said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”

Von da an zogen sich viele seiner Jünger von ihm zurück und begleiteten ihn nicht mehr auf seinen Wanderungen.

Desde esto, muchos de sus discípulos volvieron atrás, y ya no andaban con él.

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Daher sagte Jesus zu den Zwölfen: »Ihr wollt doch nicht auch weggehen?«

Dijo entonces Jesús á los doce: ¿Queréis vosotros iros también?

Simon Petrus antwortete ihm: »Herr, zu wem sollten wir gehen? Du hast Worte ewigen Lebens;

Y respondióle Simón Pedro: Señor, ¿á quién iremos? tú tienes palabras de vida eterna.

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

und wir haben den Glauben und die Erkenntnis gewonnen, daß du der Heilige Gottes bist.«

Y nosotros creemos y conocemos que tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios viviente.

And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus antwortete ihnen: »Habe nicht ich selbst euch Zwölf erwählt? Und einer von euch ist ein Teufel.«

Jesús le respondió: ¿No he escogido yo á vosotros doce, y uno de vosotros es diablo?

Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

Jesus answered them, “Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

Er meinte damit aber den Judas, den Sohn Simons aus Kariot; denn dieser sollte ihn verraten, (und war doch) einer von den Zwölfen.

Y hablaba de Judas Iscariote, hijo de Simón, porque éste era el que le había de entregar, el cual era uno de los doce.

He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
