Ils lui répondirent: Nous sommes la postérité d’Abraham, et nous ne fûmes jamais esclaves de personne; comment dis-tu: Vous deviendrez libres?

Y respondiéronle: Simiente de Abraham somos, y jamás servimos á nadie: ¿cómo dices tú: Seréis libres?

They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

They answered him, “We are Abraham’s offspring, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, ‘You will be made free’?”
