Pero Jesús fue al monte de los Olivos.

Y JESÚS se fué al monte de las Olivas.

Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

Y a primera hora de la mañana volvió al Templo y todo el pueblo vino a él y él estaba sentado enseñándoles.

Y por la mañana volvió al templo, y todo el pueblo vino á él: y sentado él, los enseñaba.

And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

Now very early in the morning, he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him. He sat down and taught them.

Y vinieron los escribas y los fariseos, con una mujer que había sido sorprendida en el acto de adulterio;

Entonces los escribas y los Fariseos le traen una mujer tomada en adulterio; y poniéndola en medio,

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman taken in adultery. Having set her in the middle,

Y presentándola, le dijeron: Maestro, esta mujer ha sido sorprendida en el acto de adulterio.

Dícenle: Maestro, esta mujer ha sido tomada en el mismo hecho, adulterando;

They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

they told him, “Teacher, we found this woman in adultery, in the very act.

Ahora, en la ley, Moisés dio instrucciones de que tales mujeres serían apedreadas; ¿Qué dices al respecto?

Y en la ley Moisés nos mandó apedrear á las tales: tú pues, ¿qué dices?

Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

Now in our law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. What then do you say about her?”

Dijeron esto, poniéndolo a prueba, para que pudieran tener algo contra él. Pero Jesús, con su cabeza inclinada, hizo letras en el piso con su dedo.

Mas esto decían tentándole, para poder acusarle. Empero Jesús, inclinado hacia abajo, escribía en tierra con el dedo.

This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger.

Pero cuando continuaron con sus preguntas, él se levantó y les dijo: deja aquel entre ustedes, que está sin pecado, sea el primero en enviar una piedra contra ella.

Y como perseverasen preguntándole, enderezóse, y díjoles: El que de vosotros esté sin pecado, arroje contra ella la piedra el primero.

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.”

Y nuevamente, con la cabeza inclinada, hizo letras en el piso.

Y volviéndose á inclinar hacia abajo, escribía en tierra.

And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger.

Y cuando sus palabras llegaron a oídos de ellos, salieron uno por uno, comenzando por los más viejos hasta el último, porque tenían conciencia de lo que había en sus corazones: y Jesús estaba allí solo con la mujer que estaba delante de él.

Oyendo, pues, ellos, redargüidos de la conciencia, salíanse uno á uno, comenzando desde los más viejos hasta los postreros: y quedó solo Jesús, y la mujer que estaba en medio.

And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Jesus was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle.

Entonces Jesús, levantándose, y viendo a nadie más que a la mujer, le dijo: ¿Dónde están los hombres que dijeron cosas en tu contra? ¿Nadien te ha condenado?

Y enderezándose Jesús, y no viendo á nadie más que á la mujer, díjole: ¿Mujer, dónde están los que te acusaban? ¿Ninguno te ha condenado?

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

Jesus, standing up, saw her and said, “Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?”

Y ella dijo: Ningún hombre, Señor. Y Jesús dijo: Yo tampoco te condeno; vete, y no peques más.

Y ella dijo: Señor, ninguno. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ni yo te condeno: vete, y no peques más.

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

She said, “No one, Lord.” Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more.”

Entonces, otra vez Jesús les dijo: Yo soy la luz del mundo; el que viene conmigo no caminará en la oscuridad, sino que tendrá la luz de la vida.

Y hablóles Jesús otra vez, diciendo: Yo soy la luz del mundo: el que me sigue, no andará en tinieblas, mas tendrá la lumbre de la vida.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Entonces los fariseos le dijeron: El testimonio que das es acerca de ti: tu testimonio no es verdadero.

Entonces los Fariseos le dijeron: Tú de ti mismo das testimonio: tu testimonio no es verdadero.

The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

The Pharisees therefore said to him, “You testify about yourself. Your testimony is not valid.”

Jesús dijo en respuesta: Aunque doy testimonio acerca de mí mismo, mi testimonio es verdadero, porque sé de dónde vengo y hacia dónde voy; pero ustedes no saben de dónde vengo ni adónde voy.

Respondió Jesús, y díjoles: Aunque yo doy testimonio de mí mismo, mi testimonio es verdadero, porque sé de dónde he venido y á dónde voy; mas vosotros no sabéis de dónde vengo, y á dónde voy.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

Jesus answered them, “Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from, and where I am going; but you don’t know where I came from, or where I am going.

Estás juzgando por lo que ven; No estoy juzgando a ningún hombre.

Vosotros según la carne juzgáis; mas yo no juzgo á nadie.

Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

Incluso si estoy juzgando, mi decisión es correcta, porque no estoy solo; conmigo está el Padre que me envió.

Y si yo juzgo, mi juicio es verdadero; porque no soy solo, sino yo y el que me envió, el Padre.

And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

Even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me.

Incluso en tu ley se dice que el testimonio de dos hombres es verdadero.

Y en vuestra ley está escrito que el testimonio de dos hombres es verdadero.

It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

It’s also written in your law that the testimony of two people is valid.

Doy testimonio acerca de mí mismo y el Padre que me envió da testimonio sobre mí.

Yo soy el que doy testimonio de mí mismo: y da testimonio de mí el que me envió, el Padre.

I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

I am one who testifies about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”

Entonces ellos le dijeron: ¿Dónde está tu Padre? Jesús dijo en respuesta: No tienen conocimiento de mí ni de mi Padre: si me conocieran, también a mi Padre conocerían.

Y decíanle: ¿Dónde está tu Padre? Respondió Jesús: Ni á mí me conocéis, ni á mi Padre; si á mí me conocieseis, á mi Padre también conocierais.

Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

They said therefore to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”

Jesús dijo estas palabras en el lugar donde estaban guardadas las ofrendas, mientras enseñaba en el Templo; pero nadie lo arrestó porque su tiempo aún estaba por venir.

Estas palabras habló Jesús en el lugar de las limosnas, enseñando en el templo: y nadie le prendió; porque aun no había venido su hora.

These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, as he taught in the temple. Yet no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

Entonces él les dijo otra vez: Me voy y ustedes me estarán buscando, pero la muerte los alcanzará en sus pecados. No es posible que vengan a donde voy.

Y díjoles otra vez Jesús: Yo me voy, y me buscaréis, mas en vuestro pecado moriréis: á donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir.

Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

Jesus said therefore again to them, “I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sins. Where I go, you can’t come.”

Entonces los judíos dijeron: ¿Se quitará la vida? ¿Es por eso que dice: Donde voy, no es posible que vengan?

Decían entonces los Judíos: ¿Hase de matar á sí mismo, que dice: A donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir?

Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.

The Jews therefore said, “Will he kill himself, because he says, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come’?”

Y él les dijo: Ustedes son de la tierra; Yo soy del cielo: ustedes son de este mundo; Yo no soy de este mundo.

Y decíales: Vosotros sois de abajo, yo soy de arriba; vosotros sois de este mundo, yo no soy de este mundo.

And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

He said to them, “You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.

Por esta razón les dije que la muerte les alcanzará en sus pecados; porque si no tienen fe en que yo soy él, la muerte vendrá a ustedes mientras que estén en pecado.

Por eso os dije que moriréis en vuestros pecados; porque si no creyereis que yo soy, en vuestros pecados moriréis.

I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”

Entonces ellos le dijeron: ¿Quién eres tú? Jesús dijo: Lo que les dije desde el principio.

Y decíanle: ¿Tú quién eres? Entonces Jesús les dijo: El que al principio también os he dicho.

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.

They said therefore to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

Tengo mucho que decir acerca de ustedes y juzgar acerca de ustedes; pero el que me envió es verdadero, y lo que me ha dicho lo digo al mundo.

Muchas cosas tengo que decir y juzgar de vosotros: mas el que me envió, es verdadero: y yo, lo que he oído de él, esto hablo en el mundo.

I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you. However, he who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these I say to the world.”

Ellos no entendieron que hablaba del Padre.

Mas no entendieron que él les hablaba del Padre.

They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

They didn’t understand that he spoke to them about the Father.

Entonces Jesús dijo: Cuando el Hijo del hombre haya sido levantado por ustedes, entonces les será claro quién soy, y que no hago nada por mí mismo, sino que digo exactamente lo que el Padre me ha enseñado.

Díjoles pues, Jesús: Cuando levantareis al Hijo del hombre, entonces entenderéis que yo soy, y que nada hago de mí mismo; mas como el Padre me enseñó, esto hablo.

Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

Jesus therefore said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me, I say these things.

El que me envió, conmigo está; él no se ha ido de mí, porque siempre hago las cosas que le agradan.

Porque el que me envió, conmigo está; no me ha dejado solo el Padre; porque yo, lo que á él agrada, hago siempre.

And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

He who sent me is with me. The Father hasn’t left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”

Cuando dijo esto, un número llegó a tener fe en él.

Hablando él estas cosas, muchos creyeron en él.

As he spake these words, many believed on him.

As he spoke these things, many believed in him.

Entonces Jesús dijo a los judíos que tenían fe en él: Si guardan mi palabra, entonces ustedes son verdaderamente mis discípulos;

Y decía Jesús á los Judíos que le habían creído: Si vosotros permaneciereis en mi palabra, seréis verdaderamente mis discípulos;

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples.

Y conocerán la verdad, y eso los hará libres.

Y conoceréis la verdad, y la verdad os libertará.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

Ellos le respondieron: Somos descendientes de Abraham, y nunca hemos sido esclavos de nadie. ¿Por qué dices: serán libres ?

Y respondiéronle: Simiente de Abraham somos, y jamás servimos á nadie: ¿cómo dices tú: Seréis libres?

They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

They answered him, “We are Abraham’s offspring, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, ‘You will be made free’?”

Y esta fue la respuesta que Jesús les dio: En verdad les digo que todo el que hace el mal es esclavo del pecado.

Jesús les respondió: De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo aquel que hace pecado, es siervo de pecado.

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin.

Ahora el esclavo no sigue viviendo en la casa para siempre, pero el hijo sí.

Y el siervo no queda en casa para siempre: el hijo queda para siempre.

And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever.

Si luego el hijo los hace libres, serán verdaderamente libres.

Así que, si el Hijo os libertare, seréis verdaderamente libres.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

Soy consciente de que son la simiente de Abraham; pero tienen el deseo de matarme porque mi palabra no tiene lugar en ustedes.

Sé que sois simiente de Abraham, mas procuráis matarme, porque mi palabra no cabe en vosotros.

I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

I know that you are Abraham’s offspring, yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you.

Digo las cosas que he visto en la casa de mi Padre; y ustedes haces las cosas que su padre les ha dicho.

Yo hablo lo que he visto cerca del Padre; y vosotros hacéis lo que habéis oído cerca de vuestro padre.

I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

I say the things which I have seen with my Father; and you also do the things which you have seen with your father.”

Respondieron y le dijeron: Nuestro padre es Abraham. Jesús les dijo: Si fueran hijos de Abraham, harían lo que hizo Abraham.

Respondieron y dijéronle: Nuestro padre es Abraham. Díceles Jesús: Si fuerais hijos de Abraham, las obras de Abraham haríais.

They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

They answered him, “Our father is Abraham.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.

Pero ahora tienen el deseo de matarme, un hombre que les ha dicho lo que es verdad, tal como yo lo había recibido de Dios: Abraham no hizo eso.

Empero ahora procuráis matarme, hombre que os he hablado la verdad, la cual he oído de Dios: no hizo esto Abraham.

But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham didn’t do this.

Están haciendo las obras de su padre. Ellos le dijeron: Somos verdaderos hijos de Abraham; tenemos un Padre, que es Dios.

Vosotros hacéis las obras de vuestro padre. Dijéronle entonces: Nosotros no somos nacidos de fornicación; un padre tenemos, que es Dios.

Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

You do the works of your father.” They said to him, “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father, God.”

Jesús les dijo: Si Dios fuera su Padre, tendrían amor para mí, porque era de Dios que vine y estoy aquí. No vine de mí mismo, pero él me envió.

Jesús entonces les dijo: Si vuestro padre fuera Dios, ciertamente me amaríais: porque yo de Dios he salido, y he venido; que no he venido de mí mismo, mas él me envió.

Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Therefore Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I haven’t come of myself, but he sent me.

¿Por qué mis palabras no están claras para ustedes? Es porque sus oídos están cerrados a mi enseñanza.

¿Por qué no reconocéis mi lenguaje? porque no podéis oir mi palabra.

Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

Why don’t you understand my speech? Because you can’t hear my word.

Ustedes son los hijos de su padre el diablo y es su placer hacer sus deseos. Desde el principio fue un asesino; y él nunca ha hablado la verdad porque no hay nada verdadero en él. Cuando dice lo que es falso, es natural para él, porque él es un mentiroso y el padre de las mentiras.

Vosotros de vuestro padre el diablo sois, y los deseos de vuestro padre queréis cumplir. El, homicida ha sido desde el principio, y no permaneció en la verdad, porque no hay verdad en él. Cuando habla mentira, de suyo habla; porque es mentiroso, y padre de mentira.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

Pero porque digo lo que es verdad, no tienes fe en mí.

Y porque yo digo verdad, no me creéis.

And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

But because I tell the truth, you don’t believe me.

¿Quién de ustedes puede decir verdaderamente que soy un pecador? Si digo lo que es verdad, ¿por qué no creen en mí?

¿Quién de vosotros me redarguye de pecado? Pues si digo verdad, ¿por qué vosotros no me creéis?

Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?

El que es hijo de Dios oye las palabras de Dios; los que son de Dios escuchan sus palabras pero como no son de Dios no quieren escuchar.

El que es de Dios, las palabras de Dios oye: por esto no las oís vosotros, porque no sois de Dios.

He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

He who is of God hears the words of God. For this cause you don’t hear, because you are not of God.”

Los judíos le respondieron, diciendo: ¿No tenemos razón en decir que eres de Samaria y que tienes un espíritu malo?

Respondieron entonces los Judíos, y dijéronle: ¿No decimos bien nosotros, que tú eres Samaritano, y tienes demonio?

Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

Then the Jews answered him, “Don’t we say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?”

Y esta fue la respuesta de Jesús: No tengo espíritu malo; pero doy honor a mi Padre y en cambio ustedes no me honran.

Respondió Jesús: Yo no tengo demonio, antes honro á mi Padre; y vosotros me habéis deshonrado.

Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

Jesus answered, “I don’t have a demon, but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.

Yo, sin embargo, no estoy en busca de la gloria para mí: hay Uno que la está buscando y él es el juez.

Y no busco mi gloria: hay quien la busque, y juzgue.

And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

But I don’t seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.

En verdad les digo, si un hombre obedece mi palabra, nunca verá la muerte.

De cierto, de cierto os digo, que el que guardare mi palabra, no verá muerte para siempre.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

Most certainly, I tell you, if a person keeps my word, he will never see death.”

Los judíos le dijeron: Ahora estamos seguros de que tienes un espíritu malo. Abraham está muerto, y los profetas están muertos; y dices: si un hombre obedece mi palabra, nunca verá la muerte.

Entonces los Judíos le dijeron: Ahora conocemos que tienes demonio. Abraham murió, y los profetas, y tú dices: El que guardare mi palabra, no gustará muerte para siempre.

Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.

Then the Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, as did the prophets; and you say, ‘If a man keeps my word, he will never taste of death.’

¿Eres mayor que nuestro padre Abraham, que está muerto? y los profetas están muertos: ¿quién dices que eres?

¿Eres tú mayor que nuestro padre Abraham, el cual murió? y los profetas murieron: ¿quién te haces á ti mismo?

Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died. Who do you make yourself out to be?”

Jesús dijo en respuesta: Si tomo gloria para mí, mi gloria no es nada; es mi Padre el que me glorifica, de quien dicen que él es su Dios.

Respondió Jesús: Si yo me glorifico á mí mismo, mi gloria es nada: mi Padre es el que me glorifica; el que vosotros decís que es vuestro Dios;

Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is our God.

No tienen conocimiento de él, pero yo tengo conocimiento de él; y si dijera que no lo conozco, hablaría falsamente como ustedes; pero tengo pleno conocimiento de él y mantengo su palabra.

Y no le conocéis: mas yo le conozco; y si dijere que no le conozco, seré como vosotros mentiroso: mas le conozco, y guardo su palabra.

Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

You have not known him, but I know him. If I said, ‘I don’t know him,’ I would be like you, a liar. But I know him and keep his word.

Su padre Abraham estaba lleno de alegría ante la esperanza de ver mi día; lo vio y se alegró.

Abraham vuestro padre se gozó por ver mi día; y lo vió, y se gozó.

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it and was glad.”

Entonces los judíos le dijeron: No tienes cincuenta años; ¿Has visto a Abraham?

Dijéronle entonces los Judíos: Aun no tienes cincuenta años, ¿y has visto á Abraham?

Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

The Jews therefore said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old! Have you seen Abraham?”

Jesús les dijo: De cierto os digo que antes que Abraham haya nacido, yo soy.

Díjoles Jesús: De cierto, de cierto os digo: Antes que Abraham fuese, yo soy.

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
