Y JESÚS se fué al monte de las Olivas.

Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

Y por la mañana volvió al templo, y todo el pueblo vino á él: y sentado él, los enseñaba.

And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.

Now very early in the morning, he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him. He sat down and taught them.

Entonces los escribas y los Fariseos le traen una mujer tomada en adulterio; y poniéndola en medio,

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,

The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman taken in adultery. Having set her in the middle,

—

Dícenle: Maestro, esta mujer ha sido tomada en el mismo hecho, adulterando;

They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

they told him, “Teacher, we found this woman in adultery, in the very act.

Y en la ley Moisés nos mandó apedrear á las tales: tú pues, ¿qué dices?

Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

Now in our law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. What then do you say about her?”

Mas esto decían tentándole, para poder acusarle. Empero Jesús, inclinado hacia abajo, escribía en tierra con el dedo.

This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger.

Y como perseverasen preguntándole, enderezóse, y díjoles: El que de vosotros esté sin pecado, arroje contra ella la piedra el primero.

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.”

Y volviéndose á inclinar hacia abajo, escribía en tierra.

And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger.

Oyendo, pues, ellos, redargüidos de la conciencia, salíanse uno á uno, comenzando desde los más viejos hasta los postreros: y quedó solo Jesús, y la mujer que estaba en medio.

And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Jesus was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle.

Y enderezándose Jesús, y no viendo á nadie más que á la mujer, díjole: ¿Mujer, dónde están los que te acusaban? ¿Ninguno te ha condenado?

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

Jesus, standing up, saw her and said, “Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?”

Y ella dijo: Señor, ninguno. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Ni yo te condeno: vete, y no peques más.

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

She said, “No one, Lord.” Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more.”

Wiederum also sprach Jesus zu ihnen sagend: Ich bin das Licht der Welt. Wer mir folgt (nachfolgt), wandelt nicht in der Finsternis (Dunkelheit), sondern wird das Licht des Lebens haben.

Y hablóles Jesús otra vez, diciendo: Yo soy la luz del mundo: el que me sigue, no andará en tinieblas, mas tendrá la lumbre de la vida.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”

†Es sagten ihm also die Pharisäer: Du legst Zeugnis ab (bezeugst) über (für) Dich selbst. Dein Zeugnis ist nicht wahr (wahrhaftig).

Entonces los Fariseos le dijeron: Tú de ti mismo das testimonio: tu testimonio no es verdadero.

The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

The Pharisees therefore said to him, “You testify about yourself. Your testimony is not valid.”

Jesus antwortete und sagte ihnen: Auch wenn ich Zeugnis ablege (bezeuge) über (für) mich selbst, ist mein Zeugnis wahr (wahrhaftig), weil ich weiß, woher ich gekommen bin und wohin ich gehe (weggehe). Ihr aber wißt nicht, woher ich komme und wohin ich gehe (weggehe).

Respondió Jesús, y díjoles: Aunque yo doy testimonio de mí mismo, mi testimonio es verdadero, porque sé de dónde he venido y á dónde voy; mas vosotros no sabéis de dónde vengo, y á dónde voy.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

Jesus answered them, “Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from, and where I am going; but you don’t know where I came from, or where I am going.

Ihr richtet (urteilt, verurteilt) nach dem Fleisch, ich richte (beurteile, verurteile) niemanden.

Vosotros según la carne juzgáis; mas yo no juzgo á nadie.

Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

Und wenn ich aber †doch richte (urteile, verurteile), ist mein Urteil wahr (wahrhaftig), weil ich nicht allein bin, sondern ich und der Vater, der mich gesandt hat†, zusammen sind.

Y si yo juzgo, mi juicio es verdadero; porque no soy solo, sino yo y el que me envió, el Padre.

And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

Even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me.

Und im Gesetz aber, dem Euren, steht (ist) geschrieben, dass das Zeugnis von zwei Menschen wahr (wahrhaftig) ist.

Y en vuestra ley está escrito que el testimonio de dos hombres es verdadero.

It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.

It’s also written in your law that the testimony of two people is valid.

Ich bin der, der über (für) mich selbst Zeugnis ablegt (bezeugt) und es legt Zeugnis (bezeugt) über (für) mich ab der Vater, der mich gesandt hat.

Yo soy el que doy testimonio de mí mismo: y da testimonio de mí el que me envió, el Padre.

I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

I am one who testifies about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”

Sie sagten ihm also: Wo ist Dein Vater? Jesus antwortete: Weder mich kennt Ihr, noch meinen Vater. Wenn Ihr mich kennen würdet, würdet Ihr auch meinen Vater kennen.

Y decíanle: ¿Dónde está tu Padre? Respondió Jesús: Ni á mí me conocéis, ni á mi Padre; si á mí me conocieseis, á mi Padre también conocierais.

Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

They said therefore to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”

Diese Worte aber sagte er in (bei) der Schatzkammer, als er im Tempel lehrte. Und keiner ergriff ihn (nahm ihn fest), weil seine Stunde noch nicht gekommen war.

Estas palabras habló Jesús en el lugar de las limosnas, enseñando en el templo: y nadie le prendió; porque aun no había venido su hora.

These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, as he taught in the temple. Yet no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

Er sprach wiederum zu ihnen: „ich gehe (fort) und ihr werdet mich suchen und an (in) eurer Sünde werdet ihr sterben. Wohin ich (fort)gehe, könnt ihr nicht kommen.“

Y díjoles otra vez Jesús: Yo me voy, y me buscaréis, mas en vuestro pecado moriréis: á donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir.

Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

Jesus said therefore again to them, “I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sins. Where I go, you can’t come.”

Da sprachen die Juden: „Er wird sich doch nicht selbst töten, weil er sagt: Wohin ich (fort)gehe, könnt ihr nicht kommen?“

Decían entonces los Judíos: ¿Hase de matar á sí mismo, que dice: A donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir?

Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.

The Jews therefore said, “Will he kill himself, because he says, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come’?”

Und er sprach zu ihnen: „Ihr seid von unten, ich aber bin von oben. Ihr seid von (aus) dieser Welt, ich bin nicht von dieser Welt.“

Y decíales: Vosotros sois de abajo, yo soy de arriba; vosotros sois de este mundo, yo no soy de este mundo.

And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

He said to them, “You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.

Er sprach also (daher) zu ihnen: „An (in) euren Sünden werdet ihr sterben. Denn wenn ihr (mir) nicht glaubt, dass ich es bin, werdet ihr an (in) euren Sünden sterben.“

Por eso os dije que moriréis en vuestros pecados; porque si no creyereis que yo soy, en vuestros pecados moriréis.

I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”

Da sprachen sie zu ihm: „Wer bist du?“ Jesus sprach zu ihnen: „Zunächst das, was ich euch auch sage.

Y decíanle: ¿Tú quién eres? Entonces Jesús les dijo: El que al principio también os he dicho.

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.

They said therefore to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

Viel habe ich über euch zu reden und zu (be)urteilen, aber der mich geschickt hat, ist wahrhaftig, und ich, was ich von ihm gehört habe, das sage ich der Welt.“

Muchas cosas tengo que decir y juzgar de vosotros: mas el que me envió, es verdadero: y yo, lo que he oído de él, esto hablo en el mundo.

I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you. However, he who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these I say to the world.”

Sie wussten nicht, dass er zu ihnen vom Vater sprach.

Mas no entendieron que él les hablaba del Padre.

They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

They didn’t understand that he spoke to them about the Father.

Sprach daher Jesus zu ihnen: „Wenn ihr den Menschensohn erhöhen werdet, dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich es bin, und von mir aus tue ich nichts, sondern wie mich der Vater gelehrt hat, das rede ich.

Díjoles pues, Jesús: Cuando levantareis al Hijo del hombre, entonces entenderéis que yo soy, y que nada hago de mí mismo; mas como el Padre me enseñó, esto hablo.

Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

Jesus therefore said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me, I say these things.

Und der mich geschickt (gesandt) hat ist bei (mit) mir; er lässt mich nicht allein, weil ich immer das ihm Liebe tue.“

Porque el que me envió, conmigo está; no me ha dejado solo el Padre; porque yo, lo que á él agrada, hago siempre.

And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

He who sent me is with me. The Father hasn’t left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”

Als (nachdem) er dies gesagt hatte, glaubten viele an ihn.

Hablando él estas cosas, muchos creyeron en él.

As he spake these words, many believed on him.

As he spoke these things, many believed in him.

†Es sagte also {der} Jesus zu den Juden, die an ihn glaubten: Wenn Ihr in meinem Wort bleibt, seid Ihr wirklich (wahrhaftig) meine Jünger

Y decía Jesús á los Judíos que le habían creído: Si vosotros permaneciereis en mi palabra, seréis verdaderamente mis discípulos;

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples.

und Ihr werdet die Wahrheit erkennen und die Wahrheit wird Euch befreien (frei machen).

Y conoceréis la verdad, y la verdad os libertará.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

Sie antworteten ihm: Wir sind Nachfahren (Same) Abrahams und wir haben †noch nie jemanden (niemandem jemals) (als Sklaven) gedient. Wieso (Wie) sagst Du (kannst Du sagen): {Daß} Ihr werdet frei (Freie) sein (werden)?

Y respondiéronle: Simiente de Abraham somos, y jamás servimos á nadie: ¿cómo dices tú: Seréis libres?

They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

They answered him, “We are Abraham’s offspring, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, ‘You will be made free’?”

†Es antwortete ihnen {der} Jesus: Amen, Amen (Wahrlich, wahrlich), ich sage Euch: {Daß} Jeder, der die Sünde tut (sündigt), ist Sklave (Diener, Knecht) der Sünde.

Jesús les respondió: De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo aquel que hace pecado, es siervo de pecado.

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin.

Der Sklave (Diener, Knecht) aber bleibt nicht für immer (ewig; in die Ewigkeit) im Haus. Der Sohn bleibt für immer (ewig; in die Ewigkeit).

Y el siervo no queda en casa para siempre: el hijo queda para siempre.

And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever.

Wenn also der Sohn Euch befreit (frei macht), werdet Ihr wirklich frei (Freie) sein.

Así que, si el Hijo os libertare, seréis verdaderamente libres.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

Ich weiß, dass Ihr Nachkommen (Samen) Abrahams seid. Aber Ihr versucht (sucht) mich zu töten, weil mein Wort in Euch keinen Raum findet (hat).

Sé que sois simiente de Abraham, mas procuráis matarme, porque mi palabra no cabe en vosotros.

I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

I know that you are Abraham’s offspring, yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you.

Was ich beim Vater gesehen habe, sage ich. Und Ihr also (tut), was Ihr vom Vater gehört habt, tut!(.)

Yo hablo lo que he visto cerca del Padre; y vosotros hacéis lo que habéis oído cerca de vuestro padre.

I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

I say the things which I have seen with my Father; and you also do the things which you have seen with your father.”

Sie antworteten ihm: unser Vater ist Abraham. {Der} Jesus sagt ihnen: Wenn Ihr Kinder {des} Abrahams seid (wäret), würdet ihr die Werke {des} Abrahams tun.

Respondieron y dijéronle: Nuestro padre es Abraham. Díceles Jesús: Si fuerais hijos de Abraham, las obras de Abraham haríais.

They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

They answered him, “Our father is Abraham.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.

Jetzt aber versucht (sucht) Ihr mich zu töten, einen Menschen, der ich Euch die Wahrheit gesagt habe, die ich von Gott gehört habe. Das (Dieses) hat Abraham nicht getan.

Empero ahora procuráis matarme, hombre que os he hablado la verdad, la cual he oído de Dios: no hizo esto Abraham.

But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham didn’t do this.

Ihr tut die Werke Eures Vaters. Sie sagten ihm also: Wir sind nicht aus Unzucht geboren (gezeugt), einen Vater haben wir, Gott.

Vosotros hacéis las obras de vuestro padre. Dijéronle entonces: Nosotros no somos nacidos de fornicación; un padre tenemos, que es Dios.

Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

You do the works of your father.” They said to him, “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father, God.”

Sagte Ihnen {der} Jesus: Wenn Gott Euer Vater wäre, würdet Ihr mich lieben; ich nämlich bin aus Gott hervorgegangen (ausgegangen, herausgegangen) und gekommen. Nicht nämlich von mir (aus) bin ich gekommen, sondern jener hat mich gesandt.

Jesús entonces les dijo: Si vuestro padre fuera Dios, ciertamente me amaríais: porque yo de Dios he salido, y he venido; que no he venido de mí mismo, mas él me envió.

Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Therefore Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I haven’t come of myself, but he sent me.

Weshalb erkennt Ihr meine Rede nicht? Weil Ihr mein Wort nicht hören könnt.

¿Por qué no reconocéis mi lenguaje? porque no podéis oir mi palabra.

Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

Why don’t you understand my speech? Because you can’t hear my word.

Ihr seid aus dem (vom) Vater, dem Teufel, (des Teufels) und die Begierden Eures Vaters wollt ihr tun (in die Tat umsetzen). Jener war ein Mörder (Menschenmörder) von Anfang an, und in der Wahrheit stand er nicht, weil Wahrheit in ihm nicht ist. Wenn er die Lüge spricht, spricht er aus dem Eigenen (aus den eigenen Dingen), weil er ein Lügner ist und ihr (sein) Vater.

Vosotros de vuestro padre el diablo sois, y los deseos de vuestro padre queréis cumplir. El, homicida ha sido desde el principio, y no permaneció en la verdad, porque no hay verdad en él. Cuando habla mentira, de suyo habla; porque es mentiroso, y padre de mentira.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

Ich aber: Weil ich die Wahrheit sage, glaubt Ihr mir nicht.

Y porque yo digo verdad, no me creéis.

And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

But because I tell the truth, you don’t believe me.

Wer von (aus) Euch überführt mich einer Sünde? Wenn ich Wahrheit spreche (†die Wahrheit sage), weshalb glaubt Ihr mir nicht?

¿Quién de vosotros me redarguye de pecado? Pues si digo verdad, ¿por qué vosotros no me creéis?

Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?

Wer aus Gott ist, hört die Worte Gottes: Deshalb hört Ihr nicht, weil Ihr aus Gott nicht seid.

El que es de Dios, las palabras de Dios oye: por esto no las oís vosotros, porque no sois de Dios.

He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

He who is of God hears the words of God. For this cause you don’t hear, because you are not of God.”

†Es antworteten die Juden und sagten ihm: Sagen wir nicht schön (zu recht), dass Du ein Samariter bist und einen Dämon hast (besessen bist)?

Respondieron entonces los Judíos, y dijéronle: ¿No decimos bien nosotros, que tú eres Samaritano, y tienes demonio?

Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

Then the Jews answered him, “Don’t we say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?”

†Es antwortete Jesus: Ich habe keinen Dämon (bin nicht besessen), aber ich ehre meinen Vater und Ihr ehrt mich nicht (verachtet mich).

Respondió Jesús: Yo no tengo demonio, antes honro á mi Padre; y vosotros me habéis deshonrado.

Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

Jesus answered, “I don’t have a demon, but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.

Ich aber suche nicht meine Ehre (Herrlichkeit, mein Ansehen): Es gibt einen (den), der sucht und richtet (urteilt).

Y no busco mi gloria: hay quien la busque, y juzgue.

And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

But I don’t seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.

Amen, Amen (Wahrlich, wahrlich), ich sage Euch, wenn einer (jemand) mein Wort bewahrt (hält), wird er †den Tod in Ewigkeit nicht schauen.

De cierto, de cierto os digo, que el que guardare mi palabra, no verá muerte para siempre.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

Most certainly, I tell you, if a person keeps my word, he will never see death.”

Sagten ihm also die Juden: Jetzt wissen wir (haben wir erkannt), dass Du einen Dämon hast (besessen bist). Abraham ist gestorben und die Propheten, und Du sagst: Wenn einer mein Wort bewahrt (hält), wird er †den Tod in Ewigkeit nicht erfahren (kosten).

Entonces los Judíos le dijeron: Ahora conocemos que tienes demonio. Abraham murió, y los profetas, y tú dices: El que guardare mi palabra, no gustará muerte para siempre.

Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.

Then the Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, as did the prophets; and you say, ‘If a man keeps my word, he will never taste of death.’

Bist Du etwa größer als unser Vater Abraham, der gestorben ist? Auch die Propheten starben: Wen (Zu wem, Zu was) machst Du Dich selbst?

¿Eres tú mayor que nuestro padre Abraham, el cual murió? y los profetas murieron: ¿quién te haces á ti mismo?

Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died. Who do you make yourself out to be?”

Jesus antwortete: Wenn ich mich selbst preise (ehre, verherrliche), ist mein Preis (meine Ehre, Herrlichkeit) nichts. Es ist mein Vater, der mich preist (ehrt, verherrlicht), von dem Ihr sagt, daß er Euer Gott ist,

Respondió Jesús: Si yo me glorifico á mí mismo, mi gloria es nada: mi Padre es el que me glorifica; el que vosotros decís que es vuestro Dios;

Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is our God.

– und Ihr kennt (habt) ihn nicht (erkannt), ich aber kenne ihn. Und wenn ich sagen würde, daß ich ihn nicht kenne, wäre (werde) ich gleich Euch (ähnlich wie Ihr) ein Lügner (sein). Aber ich kenne ihn und sein Wort bewahre (halte) ich.
