¿Qué beneficio tiene para ti oprimir, renunciar a la obra de tus manos, y resplandecer en él consejo de los impíos?

Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?
Is it good to you that you should oppress, that you should despise the work of your hands, and smile on the counsel of the wicked?
¿Tienes ojos de carne, o ves lo que el hombre ve?
¿Tienes tú ojos de carne? ¿ves tú como ve el hombre?
Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth?
Do you have eyes of flesh? Or do you see as man sees?
¿Son tus días como los días del hombre, o tus años como los de él?
¿Son tus días como los días del hombre, ó tus años como los tiempos humanos,
Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man’s days,
Are your days as the days of mortals, or your years as man’s years,
Para que tomes nota de mi pecado, buscando mis faltas,
Para que inquieras mi iniquidad, y busques mi pecado,
That thou enquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin?
that you inquire after my iniquity, and search after my sin?
Aunque veas que no soy malvado; ¿Y no hay nadie que pueda salvarme de tus manos?
Sobre saber tú que no soy impío, y que no hay quien de tu mano libre?
Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.
Although you know that I am not wicked, there is no one who can deliver out of your hand.
Tus manos me hicieron, y fui formado por ti, pero luego, cambiando tu propósito, me entregaste a la destrucción.
Tus manos me formaron y me compusieron todo en contorno: ¿y así me deshaces?
Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.
“‘Your hands have framed me and fashioned me altogether, yet you destroy me.
Oh, ten en cuenta que me hiciste de la tierra; ¿Y me enviarás de nuevo al polvo?
Acuérdate ahora que como á lodo me diste forma: ¿y en polvo me has de tornar?
Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?
Remember, I beg you, that you have fashioned me as clay. Will you bring me into dust again?
¿No fui drenado como la leche, endureciendo como el queso?
¿No me fundiste como leche, y como un queso me cuajaste?
Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?
Haven’t you poured me out like milk, and curdled me like cheese?
Por ti estaba vestido con piel y carne, y unido con huesos y músculos.
Vestísteme de piel y carne, y cubrísteme de huesos y nervios.
Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.
You have clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.
Me has dado favor, y tu gracia ha estado conmigo, y tu cuidado ha mantenido a salvo mi espíritu.
Vida y misericordia me concediste, y tu visitación guardó mi espíritu.
Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.
You have granted me life and loving kindness. Your visitation has preserved my spirit.
Pero guardaste estas cosas en el secreto de tu corazón; Estoy seguro de que esto estaba en tus pensamientos:
Y estas cosas tienes guardadas en tu corazón; yo sé que esto está cerca de ti.
And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee.
Yet you hid these things in your heart. I know that this is with you:
Que si me equivocaba, tomarías nota de ello y no me limpiarias del pecado:
Si pequé, tú me has observado, y no me limpias de mi iniquidad.
If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.
if I sin, then you mark me. You will not acquit me from my iniquity.
Que si yo fuera malvado, la maldición vendría sobre mí; y si fuera justo, no levantaría mi cabeza, estoy hastiado de deshonra y aflicción.
Si fuere malo, ¡ay de mí! y si fuere justo, no levantaré mi cabeza, estando harto de deshonra, y de verme afligido.
If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;
If I am wicked, woe to me. If I am righteous, I still will not lift up my head, being filled with disgrace, and conscious of my affliction.
Y que si hubiera motivo de orgullo, me seguirías como a un león; Y de nuevo muestras tus maravillas contra mí.
Y subirá de punto, pues me cazas como á león, y tornas á hacer en mí maravillas.
For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me.
If my head is held high, you hunt me like a lion. Again you show yourself powerful to me.
Enviarias nuevos testigos contra mí, aumentando tu ira contra mí, y enviando nuevos ejércitos.
Renuevas contra mí tus plagas, y aumentas conmigo tu furor, remudándose sobre mí ejércitos.
Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me; changes and war are against me.
You renew your witnesses against me, and increase your indignation on me. Changes and warfare are with me.
¿Por qué entonces me hiciste salir del cuerpo de mi madre? Hubiera sido mejor para mí haber tomado mi último aliento y nadie me hubiera visto.
¿Por qué me sacaste de la matriz? Habría yo espirado, y no me vieran ojos.
Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!
“‘Why, then, have you brought me out of the womb? I wish I had given up the spirit, and no eye had seen me.
Y para mí hubiera sido mejor no haber nacido; haber sido sacado del cuerpo de mi madre directamente a mi sepulcro.
Fuera, como si nunca hubiera sido, llevado desde el vientre á la sepultura.
I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.

¿No son los días de mi vida cortos en número? Deja que tus ojos se aparten de mí, para que pueda tener un poco de alegría,
¿No son mis días poca cosa? Cesa pues, y déjame, para que me conforte un poco.
Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,

Antes de ir al lugar desde donde no regresaré, a la tierra donde todo es oscuro y negro.
Antes que vaya para no volver, á la tierra de tinieblas y de sombra de muerte;
Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;
before I go where I will not return from, to the land of darkness and of the shadow of death;
Una tierra de espeso oscuro, sin orden, donde la luz misma es oscura.
Tierra de oscuridad, lóbrega como sombra de muerte, sin orden, y que aparece como la oscuridad misma.
A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.
