I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; let me know for what cause thou contendest against me.
Diré á Dios: no me condenes; hazme entender por qué pleiteas conmigo.

I will tell God, ‘Do not condemn me. Show me why you contend with me.
Is it well for thee that thou shouldst oppress, that thou shouldst reject the labor of thy hands, and shed light upon the counsel of the wicked?
¿Parécete bien que oprimas, que deseches la obra de tus manos, y que resplandezcas sobre el consejo de los impíos?
Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?
Is it good to you that you should oppress, that you should despise the work of your hands, and smile on the counsel of the wicked?
Hast thou eyes of flesh? or wilt thou see as a mortal seeth?
¿Tienes tú ojos de carne? ¿ves tú como ve el hombre?
Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth?
Do you have eyes of flesh? Or do you see as man sees?
Are thy days as the days of a mortal, or are thy years as the days of a man,
¿Son tus días como los días del hombre, ó tus años como los tiempos humanos,
Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man’s days,
Are your days as the days of mortals, or your years as man’s years,
That thou inquirest after my iniquity, and searchest after my sin?
Para que inquieras mi iniquidad, y busques mi pecado,
That thou enquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin?
that you inquire after my iniquity, and search after my sin?
Still it is within thy knowledge that I am not wicked, and there is none that can deliver me out of thy hand.
Sobre saber tú que no soy impío, y que no hay quien de tu mano libre?
Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.
Although you know that I am not wicked, there is no one who can deliver out of your hand.
Thy hands have carefully fashioned me and made me; every thing is in harmony all round about; and yet thou dost destroy me!
Tus manos me formaron y me compusieron todo en contorno: ¿y así me deshaces?

“‘Your hands have framed me and fashioned me altogether, yet you destroy me.
Remember, I beseech thee, that as though I were clay hast thou made me; and wilt thou cause me to return again unto the dust?
Acuérdate ahora que como á lodo me diste forma: ¿y en polvo me has de tornar?
Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again?
Remember, I beg you, that you have fashioned me as clay. Will you bring me into dust again?
Behold, like milk didst thou pour me out, and like cheese didst thou curdle me.
¿No me fundiste como leche, y como un queso me cuajaste?
Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?
Haven’t you poured me out like milk, and curdled me like cheese?
With skin and flesh didst thou clothe me, and with bones and sinews didst thou cover me.
Vestísteme de piel y carne, y cubrísteme de huesos y nervios.
Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.
You have clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.
Life and kindness didst thou grant me, and thy providence watched over my spirit.
Vida y misericordia me concediste, y tu visitación guardó mi espíritu.
Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.
You have granted me life and loving kindness. Your visitation has preserved my spirit.
And yet these things hadst thou treasured up in thy heart: I know that this was resolved within thee.
Y estas cosas tienes guardadas en tu corazón; yo sé que esto está cerca de ti.
And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee.
Yet you hid these things in your heart. I know that this is with you:
If I have sinned, then dost thou watch me, and from my iniquity thou wilt not declare me guiltless.
Si pequé, tú me has observado, y no me limpias de mi iniquidad.
If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.
if I sin, then you mark me. You will not acquit me from my iniquity.
If I be wicked, woe unto me: and if I be righteous, I can still not lift up my head; I am sated with disgrace, and ever seeing my affliction;
Si fuere malo, ¡ay de mí! y si fuere justo, no levantaré mi cabeza, estando harto de deshonra, y de verme afligido.
If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;
If I am wicked, woe to me. If I am righteous, I still will not lift up my head, being filled with disgrace, and conscious of my affliction.
And it constantly increaseth; like a fierce lion dost thou hunt for me; and again thou showest thyself continually wonderful on me;
Y subirá de punto, pues me cazas como á león, y tornas á hacer en mí maravillas.
For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me.
If my head is held high, you hunt me like a lion. Again you show yourself powerful to me.
Thou ever renewest thy witnesses against me, and causest thy indignation to grow strong against me; changes and multitudes of sufferings are around me.
Renuevas contra mí tus plagas, y aumentas conmigo tu furor, remudándose sobre mí ejércitos.
Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me; changes and war are against me.
You renew your witnesses against me, and increase your indignation on me. Changes and warfare are with me.
Wherefore then didst thou bring me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had perished, and that no eye had seen me!
¿Por qué me sacaste de la matriz? Habría yo espirado, y no me vieran ojos.
Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!
“‘Why, then, have you brought me out of the womb? I wish I had given up the spirit, and no eye had seen me.
That I were as though I had not been,had been borne from the womb to the grave.

Lo! my days are but few: cease, then, withdraw from me thy hand, that I may recover my cheerfulness a little.
¿No son mis días poca cosa? Cesa pues, y déjame, para que me conforte un poco.

Aren’t my days few? Stop! Leave me alone, that I may find a little comfort,
Before I go, and return not, to the land of darkness and the shadow of death,
Antes que vaya para no volver, á la tierra de tinieblas y de sombra de muerte;
Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;
before I go where I will not return from, to the land of darkness and of the shadow of death;
A land of utter gloom, as of the darkness of the shadow of death, without any order, and the light of which is like utter gloom.
Tierra de oscuridad, lóbrega como sombra de muerte, sin orden, y que aparece como la oscuridad misma.
