Y RESPONDIÓ Job, y dijo:

Assurément vous êtes seuls des hommes, Et avec vous mourra la sagesse !
Ciertamente que vosotros sois el pueblo; y con vosotros morirá la sabiduría.
No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
“No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.
Moi aussi, j'ai une raison comme vous, Je ne vous suis pas inférieur... Qui ne sait tout ce que vous dites là ?
También tengo yo seso como vosotros; no soy yo menos que vosotros: ¿y quién habrá que no pueda decir otro tanto?
But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

Je suis devenu un homme qui est la risée de ses amis, Moi qui invoquais Dieu et il me répondait ; La risée !... moi juste et intègre !
Yo soy uno de quien su amigo se mofa, que invoca á Dios, y él le responde: con todo, el justo y perfecto es escarnecido.
I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.
I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.
Mépris au malheur ! voilà les pensées des heureux ; On frappe ceux dont le pied chancelle,
Aquel cuyos pies van á resbalar, es como una lámpara despreciada de aquel que está á sus anchuras.
He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune. It is ready for them whose foot slips.
Tandis que les tentes des brigands sont en paix, Que les contempteurs de Dieu vivent en pleine sécurité, Eux qui ont leur dieu à la main !
Prosperan las tiendas de los ladrones, y los que provocan á Dios viven seguros; en cuyas manos él ha puesto cuanto tienen.
The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
The tents of robbers prosper. Those who provoke God are secure, who carry their god in their hands.
Cependant, interroge les bêtes, et elles t'instruiront ; Les oiseaux des cieux, et ils t'en remontreront.
Y en efecto, pregunta ahora á las bestias, que ellas te enseñarán; y á las aves de los cielos, que ellas te lo mostrarán:
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
“But ask the animals now, and they will teach you; the birds of the sky, and they will tell you.
Adresse tes méditations à la terre, et elle t'instruira ; Les poissons de la mer te feront leurs récits.
O habla á la tierra, que ella te enseñará; los peces de la mar te lo declararán también.
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you. The fish of the sea will declare to you.
Parmi eux tous, qui ne sait Que c'est la main de l'Eternel qui a fait toutes ces choses,
¿Qué cosa de todas estas no entiende que la mano de Jehová la hizo?
Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
Who doesn’t know that in all these, the LORD’s hand has done this,
Lui qui tient dans sa main la vie de tous les êtres, Et l'âme de toute créature humaine.
En su mano está el alma de todo viviente, y el espíritu de toda carne humana.
In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

L'oreille ne discerne-t-elle pas les paroles, Comme le palais distingue les aliments ?
Ciertamente el oído distingue las palabras, y el paladar gusta las viandas.
Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
Doesn’t the ear try words, even as the palate tastes its food?
Les cheveux blancs possèdent la sagesse ; Une longue vie donne l'intelligence.
En los viejos está la ciencia, y en la larga edad la inteligencia.
With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
With aged men is wisdom, in length of days understanding.
Auprès de lui se trouvent sagesse et puissance, A lui sont conseil et intelligence.
Con Dios está la sabiduría y la fortaleza; suyo es el consejo y la inteligencia.
With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.
“With God is wisdom and might. He has counsel and understanding.
Il renverse, et l'on ne rebâtit pas ; Il enferme quelqu'un, et l'on n'ouvre pas ;
He aquí, él derribará, y no será edificado: encerrará al hombre, y no habrá quien le abra.
Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
Behold, he breaks down, and it can’t be built again. He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.
Il arrête les eaux, et elles tarissent ; Il les lâche, et elles bouleversent la terre.
He aquí, él detendrá las aguas, y se secarán; él las enviará, y destruirán la tierra.

Auprès de lui il y a force et prudence ; Il dispose du trompeur et du trompé,
Con él está la fortaleza y la existencia; suyo es el que yerra, y el que hace errar.

El hace andar á los consejeros desnudos de consejo, y hace enloquecer á los jueces.

El suelta la atadura de los tiranos, y ata el cinto á sus lomos.

Il emmène les sacrificateurs en exil, Il renverse les autorités établies.
El lleva despojados á los príncipes, y trastorna á los poderosos.

Il enlève la parole aux hommes les plus sûrs, Il ôte le discernement aux vieillards.
El impide el labio á los que dicen verdad, y quita á los ancianos el consejo.
He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.
He removes the speech of those who are trusted, and takes away the understanding of the elders.
Il verse le mépris sur les nobles, Il détache la ceinture des puissants.
El derrama menosprecio sobre los príncipes, y enflaquece la fuerza de los esforzados.
He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.
He pours contempt on princes, and loosens the belt of the strong.
Il fait sortir de l'obscurité les choses profondes, Il fait sortir à la lumière l'ombre de la mort.
El descubre las profundidades de las tinieblas, y saca á luz la sombra de muerte.
He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.

Il fait prospérer les peuples et il les détruit, Il étend les nations et les emmène.
El multiplica las gentes, y él las destruye: él esparce las gentes, y las torna á recoger.

Il enlève la raison aux chefs des multitudes, Et les fait errer dans un désert sans chemin.

Ils tâtonnent dans les ténèbres, sans trouver la lumière, Et il les fait errer comme un homme ivre.
Van á tientas como en tinieblas y sin luz, y los hace errar como borrachos.
