¿Conque vosotros solos sois hombres entendidos, y con vosotros morirá la sabiduría?
Ciertamente que vosotros sois el pueblo; y con vosotros morirá la sabiduría.
No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
“No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.
Pues también tengo yo seso como vosotros, y no os concedo ventaja sobre mí; porque eso que sabéis ¿quién hay que lo ignore?
También tengo yo seso como vosotros; no soy yo menos que vosotros: ¿y quién habrá que no pueda decir otro tanto?
But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

Quien sufre como yo ser escarnecido de su propio amigo, invoque a Dios que le oirá; ya que se hace mofa de la sencillez del justo.
Yo soy uno de quien su amigo se mofa, que invoca á Dios, y él le responde: con todo, el justo y perfecto es escarnecido.
I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.
I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.
Es éste una antorcha de ninguna estima, según el concepto de los ricos, bien que prevenida para brillar en el tiempo señalado por Dios.
Aquel cuyos pies van á resbalar, es como una lámpara despreciada de aquel que está á sus anchuras.
He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune. It is ready for them whose foot slips.
Las casas de los ladrones abundan de bienes, y ellos osadamente provocan a Dios, siendo así que él es quien les ha puesto en las manos todo lo que tienen.
Prosperan las tiendas de los ladrones, y los que provocan á Dios viven seguros; en cuyas manos él ha puesto cuanto tienen.
The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
The tents of robbers prosper. Those who provoke God are secure, who carry their god in their hands.
Pregunta si no a las bestias, y te lo enseñarán; y a las aves del cielo y te lo declararán.
Y en efecto, pregunta ahora á las bestias, que ellas te enseñarán; y á las aves de los cielos, que ellas te lo mostrarán:
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
“But ask the animals now, and they will teach you; the birds of the sky, and they will tell you.
Habla con la tierra, y te responderá; y te lo referirán los peces del mar.
O habla á la tierra, que ella te enseñará; los peces de la mar te lo declararán también.
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you. The fish of the sea will declare to you.
¿Quién no sabe que la mano del Señor hizo todas estas cosas?
¿Qué cosa de todas estas no entiende que la mano de Jehová la hizo?
Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
Who doesn’t know that in all these, the LORD’s hand has done this,
En su mano tiene Dios el alma de todo viviente, y el espíritu de toda carne humana.

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

¿No es el oído el que discierne las palabras; y el paladar del que come, los sabores?
Ciertamente el oído distingue las palabras, y el paladar gusta las viandas.
Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
Doesn’t the ear try words, even as the palate tastes its food?
En los ancianos se halla la sabiduría, y en los muchos años la prudencia.
En los viejos está la ciencia, y en la larga edad la inteligencia.
With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
With aged men is wisdom, in length of days understanding.
En el Señor Dios residen la sabiduría, y la fortaleza; suyo es el buen consejo, y suya la inteligencia.
Con Dios está la sabiduría y la fortaleza; suyo es el consejo y la inteligencia.
With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.
“With God is wisdom and might. He has counsel and understanding.
Lo que él destruyere, nadie podrá reedificarlo. Si tuviere encerrado a un hombre, nadie podrá abrirle.
He aquí, él derribará, y no será edificado: encerrará al hombre, y no habrá quien le abra.
Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
Behold, he breaks down, and it can’t be built again. He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.
Si detuviere las aguas, todo se secará; y si las soltare, sumergirán la tierra.
He aquí, él detendrá las aguas, y se secarán; él las enviará, y destruirán la tierra.
Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.

En él están esencialmente la fortaleza y la sabiduría; él conoce igualmente al engañador y al engañado.

With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.

Conduce los hombres de consejo a un resultado necio, y vuelve tontos sus jueces.
El hace andar á los consejeros desnudos de consejo, y hace enloquecer á los jueces.
He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.

Despoja de la faja a los reyes, y les ciñe los lomos con una soga.
El suelta la atadura de los tiranos, y ata el cinto á sus lomos.
He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
He loosens the bond of kings. He binds their waist with a belt.
A los sacerdotes los priva de toda su gloria, y a los grandes los derriba por el suelo.
El lleva despojados á los príncipes, y trastorna á los poderosos.
He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.
He leads priests away stripped, and overthrows the mighty.
Trueca las palabras en la boca de los hombres veraces, y quita el saber a los ancianos.
El impide el labio á los que dicen verdad, y quita á los ancianos el consejo.
He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.
He removes the speech of those who are trusted, and takes away the understanding of the elders.
Hace caer a los príncipes en desprecio y vuelve a ensalzar a los abatidos.
El derrama menosprecio sobre los príncipes, y enflaquece la fuerza de los esforzados.
He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.
He pours contempt on princes, and loosens the belt of the strong.
El descubre lo que está en lo más profundo de las tinieblas, y saca a la luz la sombra misma de la muerte.

Multiplica las naciones, y las destruye; y destruidas, las vuelve a su primer estado.

Cambia el corazón de los soberanos de los pueblos de la tierra, y los ciega para que descaminados anden divagando.

He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

Irán a tientas como si fuera de noche y no de día y les hará perder el tino como a los borrachos.
Van á tientas como en tinieblas y sin luz, y los hace errar como borrachos.
