¿Si proferirá el sabio vana sabiduría, y henchirá su vientre de viento solano?
Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?
“Should a wise man answer with vain knowledge, and fill himself with the east wind?
Se défend-il par de futiles propos, par des discours qui ne servent à rien ?
¿Disputará con palabras inútiles, y con razones sin provecho?
Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
Should he reason with unprofitable talk, or with speeches with which he can do no good?
Toi, tu détruis même la crainte de Dieu, tu anéantis toute piété envers Dieu.
Tú también disipas el temor, y menoscabas la oración delante de Dios.
Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.
Yes, you do away with fear, and hinder devotion before God.
Ta bouche révèle ton iniquité, et tu prends le langage les fourbes.
Porque tu boca declaró tu iniquidad, pues has escogido el hablar de los astutos.
For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
For your iniquity teaches your mouth, and you choose the language of the crafty.
Ce n'est pas moi, c'est ta bouche qui te condamne, ce sont tes lèvres qui déposent contre toi.
Tu boca te condenará, y no yo; y tus labios testificarán contra ti.
Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
Your own mouth condemns you, and not I. Yes, your own lips testify against you.
Es-tu né le premier des hommes ? As-tu été enfanté avant les collines ?
¿Naciste tú primero que Adam? ¿ó fuiste formado antes que los collados?
Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills?
“Are you the first man who was born? Or were you brought out before the hills?
As-tu assisté au conseil de Dieu ? As-tu dérobé pour toi seul la sagesse ?
¿Oíste tú el secreto de Dios, que detienes en ti solo la sabiduría?
Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
Have you heard the secret counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?
Que sais-tu, que nous ne sachions ? Qu'as-tu appris, qui ne nous soit familier ?
¿Qué sabes tú que no sepamos? ¿qué entiendes que no se halle en nosotros?
What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?
What do you know that we don’t know? What do you understand which is not in us?
Nous avons aussi parmi nous des cheveux blancs, des vieillards plus riches de jours que ton père.
Entre nosotros también hay cano, también hay viejo mucho mayor en días que tu padre.
With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.

Tiens-tu pour peu de chose les consolations de Dieu et les douces paroles que nous t'adressons ?
¿En tan poco tienes las consolaciones de Dios? ¿tienes acaso alguna cosa oculta cerca de ti?
Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
Are the consolations of God too small for you, even the word that is gentle toward you?
Où ton cœur t'emporte-t-il, et que signifie ce roulement de tes yeux ?
¿Por qué te enajena tu corazón, y por qué guiñan tus ojos,
Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,
Why does your heart carry you away? Why do your eyes flash,
Quoi ! C'est contre Dieu que tu tournes ta colère, et que de ta bouche tu fais sortir de tels discours ?
Pues haces frente á Dios con tu espíritu, y sacas tales palabras de tu boca?
That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth?
that you turn your spirit against God, and let such words go out of your mouth?
Qu'est-ce que l'homme, pour qu'il soit pur, le fils de la femme, pour qu'il soit juste ?
¿Qué cosa es el hombre para que sea limpio, y que se justifique el nacido de mujer?
What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

Voici que Dieu ne se fie pas même à ses saints, et les cieux ne sont pas purs devant lui :
He aquí que en sus santos no confía, y ni los cielos son limpios delante de sus ojos:
Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
Behold, he puts no trust in his holy ones. Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight;
combien moins cet être abominable et pervers, l'homme qui boit l'iniquité comme l'eau !
¿Cuánto menos el hombre abominable y vil, que bebe la iniquidad como agua?
How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water!
Je vais t'instruire, écoute-moi ; je raconterai ce que j'ai vu,
Escúchame; yo te mostraré y te contaré lo que he visto:
I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare;
“I will show you, listen to me; that which I have seen I will declare
ce que les sages enseignent, — ils ne le cachent pas, l'ayant appris de leurs pères ;
(Lo que los sabios nos contaron de sus padres, y no lo encubrieron;

à eux seuls avait été donné le pays, et parmi eux jamais ne passa l'étranger. —

« Le méchant, durant tous ses jours, est rongé par l'angoisse ; un petit nombre d'années sont réservées à l'oppresseur.
Todos los días del impío, él es atormentado de dolor, y el número de años es escondido al violento.
The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.

Des bruits effrayants retentissent à ses oreilles ; au sein de la paix, le dévastateur fond sur lui.
Estruendos espantosos hay en sus oídos; en la paz le vendrá quien lo asuele.
A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
A sound of terrors is in his ears. In prosperity the destroyer will come on him.
Il n'espère pas échapper aux ténèbres, il sent qu'il est guetté pour le glaive.
El no creerá que ha de volver de las tinieblas, y está mirando al cuchillo.
He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
He doesn’t believe that he will return out of darkness. He is waited for by the sword.
Il erre pour chercher son pain ; il sait que le jour des ténèbres est prêt, à ses côtés.
Desasosegado á comer siempre, sabe que le está aparejado día de tinieblas.
He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
He wanders abroad for bread, saying, ‘Where is it?’ He knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
La détresse et l'angoisse tombent sur lui ; elles l'assaillent comme un roi armé pour le combat.
Tribulación y angustia le asombrarán, y esforzaránse contra él como un rey apercibido para la batalla.
Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.

Car il a levé sa main contre Dieu, il a bravé le Tout-Puissant,
Por cuanto él extendió su mano contra Dios, y se esforzó contra el Todopoderoso,
For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
Because he has stretched out his hand against God, and behaves himself proudly against the Almighty,
il a couru sur lui le cou raide, sous le dos épais de ses boucliers.
El le acometerá en la cerviz, en lo grueso de las hombreras de sus escudos:
He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
he runs at him with a stiff neck, with the thick shields of his bucklers,
Il avait le visage couvert de graisse, et les flancs chargés d'embonpoint.
Porque cubrió su rostro con su gordura, é hizo pliegues sobre los ijares;
Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.

Il occupait des villes qui ne sont plus, des maisons qui n'ont plus d'habitants, vouées à devenir des monceaux de pierre.
Y habitó las ciudades asoladas, las casas inhabitadas, que estaban puestas en montones.
And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.
He has lived in desolate cities, in houses which no one inhabited, which were ready to become heaps.
Il ne s'enrichira plus, sa fortune ne tiendra pas, ses possessions ne s'étendront plus sur la terre.
No enriquecerá, ni será firme su potencia, ni extenderá por la tierra su hermosura.
He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.

Il n'échappera pas aux ténèbres ; la flamme desséchera ses rejetons, et il sera emporté par le souffle de la bouche de Dieu.
No se escapará de las tinieblas: la llama secará sus ramos, y con el aliento de su boca perecerá.
He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
He will not depart out of darkness. The flame will dry up his branches. He will go away by the breath of God’s mouth.
Qu'il n'espère rien du mensonge, il y sera pris ; le mensonge sera sa récompense.
No confíe el iluso en la vanidad; porque ella será su recompensa.
Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his reward.
Elle arrivera avant que ses jours soient pleins, et son rameau ne verdira plus.

Car la maison de l'impie est stérile, et le feu dévore la tente du juge corrompu.
Porque la sociedad de los hipócritas será asolada, y fuego consumirá las tiendas de soborno.
For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will consume the tents of bribery.
Il a conçu le mal, et il enfante le malheur, dans son sein mûrit un fruit de déception. »
Concibieron dolor, y parieron iniquidad; y las entrañas de ellos meditan engaño.
They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
