¿Si proferirá el sabio vana sabiduría, y henchirá su vientre de viento solano?
Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?
“Should a wise man answer with vain knowledge, and fill himself with the east wind?
Contestant en paroles qui ne profitent pas et en discours qui ne servent à rien ?
¿Disputará con palabras inútiles, y con razones sin provecho?
Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?

Certes tu détruis la crainte de Dieu, et tu restreins la méditation devant ✶Dieu.
Tú también disipas el temor, y menoscabas la oración delante de Dios.
Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.
Yes, you do away with fear, and hinder devotion before God.
Car ta bouche fait connaître ton iniquité, et tu as choisi le langage des hommes rusés.
Porque tu boca declaró tu iniquidad, pues has escogido el hablar de los astutos.
For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
For your iniquity teaches your mouth, and you choose the language of the crafty.
Ta bouche te condamnera, et non pas moi, et tes lèvres déposent contre toi.
Tu boca te condenará, y no yo; y tus labios testificarán contra ti.
Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I: yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
Your own mouth condemns you, and not I. Yes, your own lips testify against you.
Es-tu né le premier des hommes, et as-tu été enfanté avant les collines ?
¿Naciste tú primero que Adam? ¿ó fuiste formado antes que los collados?
Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills?
“Are you the first man who was born? Or were you brought out before the hills?
As-tu entendu ce qui se dit dans le conseil secret de ✝Dieu, et as-tu accaparé pour toi la sagesse ?
¿Oíste tú el secreto de Dios, que detienes en ti solo la sabiduría?
Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
Have you heard the secret counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?
Que sais-tu que nous ne sachions ? que comprends-tu qui ne soit également avec nous ?
¿Qué sabes tú que no sepamos? ¿qué entiendes que no se halle en nosotros?
What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?
What do you know that we don’t know? What do you understand which is not in us?
Parmi nous il y a aussi des hommes à cheveux blancs et des vieillards plus âgés que ton père.
Entre nosotros también hay cano, también hay viejo mucho mayor en días que tu padre.
With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.

Est-ce trop peu pour toi que les consolations de ✶Dieu et la parole douce qui se fait entendre à toi ?
¿En tan poco tienes las consolaciones de Dios? ¿tienes acaso alguna cosa oculta cerca de ti?
Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
Are the consolations of God too small for you, even the word that is gentle toward you?
Comment ton cœur t’emporte-t-il, et comment tes yeux clignent-ils,
¿Por qué te enajena tu corazón, y por qué guiñan tus ojos,
Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,
Why does your heart carry you away? Why do your eyes flash,
Que tu tournes contre ✶Dieu ton esprit et que tu fasses sortir de ta bouche des discours ?
Pues haces frente á Dios con tu espíritu, y sacas tales palabras de tu boca?
That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth?
that you turn your spirit against God, and let such words go out of your mouth?
Qu’est-ce que l’homme mortel, pour qu’il soit pur, et celui qui est né d’une femme, pour qu’il soit juste ?
¿Qué cosa es el hombre para que sea limpio, y que se justifique el nacido de mujer?
What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
What is man, that he should be clean? What is he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
Voici, il ne se fie pas à ses saints, et les cieux ne sont pas purs à ses yeux :
He aquí que en sus santos no confía, y ni los cielos son limpios delante de sus ojos:
Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
Behold, he puts no trust in his holy ones. Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight;
Combien plus l’homme, qui boit l’iniquité comme l’eau, est-il abominable et corrompu !
¿Cuánto menos el hombre abominable y vil, que bebe la iniquidad como agua?
How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water!
Je t’enseignerai, écoute-moi ; et ce que j’ai vu je te le raconterai,
Escúchame; yo te mostraré y te contaré lo que he visto:
I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare;
“I will show you, listen to me; that which I have seen I will declare
Ce que les sages ont déclaré d’après leurs pères et n’ont pas caché ; –

Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it:

À eux seuls la terre fut donnée, et aucun étranger ne passa au milieu d’eux : –
A los cuales solos fué dada la tierra, y no pasó extraño por medio de ellos:)
Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.

Tous ses jours, le méchant est tourmenté, et peu d’années sont réservées à l’homme violent ;
Todos los días del impío, él es atormentado de dolor, y el número de años es escondido al violento.
The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, and the number of years is hidden to the oppressor.
the wicked man writhes in pain all his days, even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor.
La voix des choses effrayantes est dans ses oreilles ; au milieu de la prospérité, le dévastateur arrive sur lui ;
Estruendos espantosos hay en sus oídos; en la paz le vendrá quien lo asuele.
A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
A sound of terrors is in his ears. In prosperity the destroyer will come on him.
Il ne croit pas revenir des ténèbres, et l’épée l’attend ;
El no creerá que ha de volver de las tinieblas, y está mirando al cuchillo.
He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
He doesn’t believe that he will return out of darkness. He is waited for by the sword.
Il erre çà et là pour du pain : – où en trouver ? Il sait qu’à son côté un jour de ténèbres est préparé ;
Desasosegado á comer siempre, sabe que le está aparejado día de tinieblas.
He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
He wanders abroad for bread, saying, ‘Where is it?’ He knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
La détresse et l’angoisse le jettent dans l’alarme, elles l’assaillent comme un roi prêt pour la mêlée.
Tribulación y angustia le asombrarán, y esforzaránse contra él como un rey apercibido para la batalla.
Trouble and anguish shall make him afraid; they shall prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
Distress and anguish make him afraid. They prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
Car il a étendu sa main contre ✶Dieu, et il s’élève contre le Tout-puissant ;
Por cuanto él extendió su mano contra Dios, y se esforzó contra el Todopoderoso,
For he stretcheth out his hand against God, and strengtheneth himself against the Almighty.
Because he has stretched out his hand against God, and behaves himself proudly against the Almighty,
Il court contre lui, le cou tendu, sous les bosses épaisses de ses boucliers.
El le acometerá en la cerviz, en lo grueso de las hombreras de sus escudos:
He runneth upon him, even on his neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:
he runs at him with a stiff neck, with the thick shields of his bucklers,
Car il a couvert sa face de sa graisse, et a rendu gras ses flancs.
Porque cubrió su rostro con su gordura, é hizo pliegues sobre los ijares;
Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.
because he has covered his face with his fatness, and gathered fat on his thighs.
Et il habitera des villes ruinées, des maisons que personne n’habite, qui vont devenir des monceaux de pierres.
Y habitó las ciudades asoladas, las casas inhabitadas, que estaban puestas en montones.
And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.
He has lived in desolate cities, in houses which no one inhabited, which were ready to become heaps.
Il ne deviendra pas riche, et son bien ne subsistera pas, et ses possessions ne s’étendront pas sur la terre.
No enriquecerá, ni será firme su potencia, ni extenderá por la tierra su hermosura.
He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he prolong the perfection thereof upon the earth.
He will not be rich, neither will his substance continue, neither will their possessions be extended on the earth.
Il ne sortira pas des ténèbres ; la flamme séchera ses rejetons, et il s’en ira par le souffle de sa bouche.
No se escapará de las tinieblas: la llama secará sus ramos, y con el aliento de su boca perecerá.
He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
He will not depart out of darkness. The flame will dry up his branches. He will go away by the breath of God’s mouth.
Qu’il ne compte pas sur la vanité : il sera déçu, car la vanité sera sa récompense ;
No confíe el iluso en la vanidad; porque ella será su recompensa.
Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his reward.
Avant son jour, elle sera complète, et son rameau ne verdira pas.

Il se défait, comme une vigne, de ses grappes vertes, et, comme un olivier, il rejette ses fleurs.

Car la famille des impies sera stérile, et le feu dévorera les tentes où entrent les présents.
Porque la sociedad de los hipócritas será asolada, y fuego consumirá las tiendas de soborno.
For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.
For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will consume the tents of bribery.
Il conçoit la misère et enfante le malheur, et son sein prépare la tromperie.
Concibieron dolor, y parieron iniquidad; y las entrañas de ellos meditan engaño.
They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
They conceive mischief and produce iniquity. Their heart prepares deceit.”
