¿Disputará con palabras inútiles, y con razones sin provecho?
Should he reason with unprofitable talk? or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?

Na verdade, tu diminuis o respeito por Deus; tu obstruis a devoção a Ele,
Tú también disipas el temor, y menoscabas la oración delante de Dios.
Yea, thou castest off fear, and restrainest prayer before God.
Yes, you do away with fear, and hinder devotion before God.
a tua iniquidade ensina à tua boca; tu escolhes ter a língua de um homem astuto.
Porque tu boca declaró tu iniquidad, pues has escogido el hablar de los astutos.
For thy mouth uttereth thine iniquity, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
For your iniquity teaches your mouth, and you choose the language of the crafty.
Tua própria boca te condena, não a minha; de fato, teus próprios lábios testificam contra ti.

Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills?

Tens ouvido o conhecimento secreto de Deus? Tu limitas a sabedoria a ti mesmo?
¿Oíste tú el secreto de Dios, que detienes en ti solo la sabiduría?
Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
Have you heard the secret counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?
O que sabes que nós não sabemos? O que compreendes o que nós já não compreendemos?
¿Qué sabes tú que no sepamos? ¿qué entiendes que no se halle en nosotros?
What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us?
What do you know that we don’t know? What do you understand which is not in us?
Conosco estão ambos: os grisalhos e os homens idosos, os quais são bem mais velhos que teu pai.
Entre nosotros también hay cano, también hay viejo mucho mayor en días que tu padre.
With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.

As consolações de Deus são pequenas demais para ti; palavras muito brandas para ti?
¿En tan poco tienes las consolaciones de Dios? ¿tienes acaso alguna cosa oculta cerca de ti?
Are the consolations of God small with thee? is there any secret thing with thee?
Are the consolations of God too small for you, even the word that is gentle toward you?
Por que teu coração te leva para longe? Por que teus olhos brilham
¿Por qué te enajena tu corazón, y por qué guiñan tus ojos,
Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at,
Why does your heart carry you away? Why do your eyes flash,
e voltas teu espírito contra Deus e deixas sair tais palavras de tua boca?
Pues haces frente á Dios con tu espíritu, y sacas tales palabras de tu boca?
That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth?
that you turn your spirit against God, and let such words go out of your mouth?
O que é o homem para estar limpo? Como o nascido de mulher pode ser justo?
¿Qué cosa es el hombre para que sea limpio, y que se justifique el nacido de mujer?
What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

Vê, Deus não confia nem mesmo em Seus santos; de fato, os céus não são puros à Sua vista.
He aquí que en sus santos no confía, y ni los cielos son limpios delante de sus ojos:
Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.

Quanto menos limpo é aquele que é abominável e corrupto, que bebe a iniquidade como a água!
¿Cuánto menos el hombre abominable y vil, que bebe la iniquidad como agua?
How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water!
Escuta-me e eu te mostrarei; eu te anunciarei o que tenho visto,
Escúchame; yo te mostraré y te contaré lo que he visto:
I will shew thee, hear me; and that which I have seen I will declare;

coisas que os sábios ensinaram, as quais vieram de seus pais, coisas que seus ancestrais não ocultaram.

A dreadful sound is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
A sound of terrors is in his ears. In prosperity the destroyer will come on him.
Ele não acha que retornará das trevas; a espada espera por ele.
El no creerá que ha de volver de las tinieblas, y está mirando al cuchillo.
He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
He doesn’t believe that he will return out of darkness. He is waited for by the sword.
Ele vai a vários lugares à procura de pão, dizendo: 'Onde está?'. Ele sabe que o dia da escuridão está perto.
Desasosegado á comer siempre, sabe que le está aparejado día de tinieblas.
He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.

Esse homem perverso corre até Deus com teimosia, com um escudo espesso.

he runs at him with a stiff neck, with the thick shields of his bucklers,
Isto é verdade, mesmo que ele tenha coberto o rosto com sua gordura, acumule-a em sua cintura

Because he covereth his face with his fatness, and maketh collops of fat on his flanks.

e tenha vivido em cidades desoladas; em casas nas quais ninguém mais habita e que estavam prontas para se tornarem montes.

And he dwelleth in desolate cities, and in houses which no man inhabiteth, which are ready to become heaps.

Ele não será rico; sua riqueza não durará; nem mesmo sua sombra durará na Terra.

He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.

Que ele não confie em coisas inúteis, enganando a si mesmo; porque a inutilidade será sua recompensa.
No confíe el iluso en la vanidad; porque ella será su recompensa.
Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence.
Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his reward.
