“Mi espíritu se agota, mis días se acaban y la tumba está lista para mí.
MI ALIENTO está corrompido, acórtanse mis días, y me está aparejado el sepulcro.
My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.
“My spirit is consumed. My days are extinct and the grave is ready for me.
No veo más que burlones a mi alrededor; mis ojos no pueden apartarse de sus insultos.
No hay conmigo sino escarnecedores, en cuya acrimonia se detienen mis ojos.
Are there not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?
Surely there are mockers with me. My eye dwells on their provocation.
“Acepta mi garantía, Dios; sé tú mi aval ante ti mismo. ¿Quién más se atrevería a darme la mano para apoyarme?
Pon ahora, dame fianza para litigar contigo: ¿quién tocará ahora mi mano?
Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?
“Now give a pledge. Be collateral for me with yourself. Who is there who will strike hands with me?
Porque tú les has cerrado el entendimiento, por eso no los dejarás triunfar.
Porque á éstos has tú escondido su corazón de inteligencia: por tanto, no los ensalzarás.
For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.
For you have hidden their heart from understanding, therefore you will not exalt them.
Si alguien denuncia a sus amigos para sacar provecho, hasta a sus hijos se les cansará la vista esperando ayuda.
El que denuncia lisonjas á sus prójimos, los ojos de sus hijos desfallezcan.
He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
He who denounces his friends for plunder, even the eyes of his children will fail.
“Dios me ha convertido en la burla de la gente; ahora todos me escupen en la cara.
El me ha puesto por parábola de pueblos, y delante de ellos he sido como tamboril.
He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.
“But he has made me a byword of the people. They spit in my face.
Mis ojos se nublan de tanto sufrir; todo mi cuerpo parece una sombra.
Y mis ojos se oscurecieron de desabrimiento, y mis pensamientos todos son como sombra.
Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.
My eye also is dim by reason of sorrow. All my members are as a shadow.
Los hombres rectos se asombran de ver esto, y el inocente se indigna contra el malvado.
Los rectos se maravillarán de esto, y el inocente se levantará contra el hipócrita.
Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.
Upright men will be astonished at this. The innocent will stir himself up against the godless.
Pero el justo se mantendrá firme en su camino, y el que tiene las manos limpias se hará cada vez más fuerte.
No obstante, proseguirá el justo su camino, y el limpio de manos aumentará la fuerza.
The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Yet the righteous will hold to his way. He who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.
Pero vuelvan todos ustedes, intenten otra vez; que no voy a encontrar ni a un sabio entre ustedes.
Mas volved todos vosotros, y venid ahora, que no hallaré entre vosotros sabio.
But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.
But as for you all, come back. I will not find a wise man among you.
Mi vida se acaba y mis planes se han roto, junto con los anhelos de mi corazón.
Pasáronse mis días, fueron arrancados mis pensamientos, los designios de mi corazón.
My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
My days are past. My plans are broken off, as are the thoughts of my heart.
Esta gente quiere convertir la noche en día, y dicen: ‘La luz está cerca’, cuando todo está oscuro.
Pusieron la noche por día, y la luz se acorta delante de las tinieblas.
They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
They change the night into day, saying ‘The light is near’ in the presence of darkness.
Si mi única esperanza es el Seol como mi hogar, y si ya he tendido mi cama en la oscuridad;
Si yo espero, el sepulcro es mi casa: haré mi cama en las tinieblas.
If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I have spread my couch in the darkness,
si le digo a la fosa: ‘Tú eres mi padre’, y a los gusanos: ‘Ustedes son mi madre y mi hermana’,
A la huesa tengo dicho: Mi padre eres tú; á los gusanos: Mi madre y mi hermana.
I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.
if I have said to corruption, ‘You are my father,’ and to the worm, ‘My mother,’ and ‘My sister,’
¿dónde queda entonces mi esperanza? ¿Quién puede ver alguna esperanza para mí?
¿Dónde pues estará ahora mi esperanza? y mi esperanza ¿quién la verá?
And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?
where then is my hope? As for my hope, who will see it?
¿Bajará conmigo hasta las puertas del Seol? ¿Descenderemos juntos al polvo de la muerte?”
A los rincones de la huesa descenderán, y juntamente descansarán en el polvo.
They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.
Shall it go down with me to the gates of Sheol, or descend together into the dust?”
