MI ALIENTO está corrompido, acórtanse mis días, y me está aparejado el sepulcro.
My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.
“My spirit is consumed. My days are extinct and the grave is ready for me.
Los burladores me rodean. Veo cómo me ridiculizan amargamente.
No hay conmigo sino escarnecedores, en cuya acrimonia se detienen mis ojos.
Are there not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?
Surely there are mockers with me. My eye dwells on their provocation.
Dios, tienes que ofrecer por mí una garantía contigo mismo, pues ¿quién más será mi garante?
Pon ahora, dame fianza para litigar contigo: ¿quién tocará ahora mi mano?
Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?
“Now give a pledge. Be collateral for me with yourself. Who is there who will strike hands with me?
Has cerrado sus mentes al entendimiento, ¡así que no les dejes ganar!
Porque á éstos has tú escondido su corazón de inteligencia: por tanto, no los ensalzarás.
For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.
For you have hidden their heart from understanding, therefore you will not exalt them.
Traicionan a los amigos para beneficiarse ellos mismos y sus hijos sufren por ello.
El que denuncia lisonjas á sus prójimos, los ojos de sus hijos desfallezcan.
He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
He who denounces his friends for plunder, even the eyes of his children will fail.
Me han convertido en un proverbio de burla entre el pueblo; me escupen en la cara.
El me ha puesto por parábola de pueblos, y delante de ellos he sido como tamboril.
He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.
“But he has made me a byword of the people. They spit in my face.
Mis ojos están agotados de tanto llorar y mi cuerpo es una sombra de lo que fue.
Y mis ojos se oscurecieron de desabrimiento, y mis pensamientos todos son como sombra.
Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.

La gente que se cree buena se escandaliza al verme. Los que son inocentes se sienten turbados por los impíos.
Los rectos se maravillarán de esto, y el inocente se levantará contra el hipócrita.
Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.
Upright men will be astonished at this. The innocent will stir himself up against the godless.
Los que tienen razón prosperan, y los que tienen las manos limpias se hacen cada vez más fuertes.
No obstante, proseguirá el justo su camino, y el limpio de manos aumentará la fuerza.
The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Yet the righteous will hold to his way. He who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.
“¿Por qué no vuelves a repetir lo que has dicho?
Mas volved todos vosotros, y venid ahora, que no hallaré entre vosotros sabio.
But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.
But as for you all, come back. I will not find a wise man among you.
Mi vida ha terminado. Mis planes han desaparecido. Mi corazón está roto.
Pasáronse mis días, fueron arrancados mis pensamientos, los designios de mi corazón.
My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
My days are past. My plans are broken off, as are the thoughts of my heart.
Convierten la noche en día, y dicen que la luz del día se acerca a la oscuridad.
Pusieron la noche por día, y la luz se acorta delante de las tinieblas.
They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
They change the night into day, saying ‘The light is near’ in the presence of darkness.
¿Qué es lo que busco? Hacer mi hogar en el Seol, para hacer mi cama en la oscuridad?
Si yo espero, el sepulcro es mi casa: haré mi cama en las tinieblas.
If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I have spread my couch in the darkness,
¿Debo considerar a la tumba como mi padre, y al gusano como mi madre o como mi hermana?
A la huesa tengo dicho: Mi padre eres tú; á los gusanos: Mi madre y mi hermana.
I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.
if I have said to corruption, ‘You are my father,’ and to the worm, ‘My mother,’ and ‘My sister,’
Entonces, ¿dónde está mi esperanza? ¿Puede alguien ver alguna esperanza para mí?
¿Dónde pues estará ahora mi esperanza? y mi esperanza ¿quién la verá?
And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?
where then is my hope? As for my hope, who will see it?
¿Descenderá la esperanza conmigo hasta las puertas del Seol? ¿Bajaremos juntos al polvo?”
A los rincones de la huesa descenderán, y juntamente descansarán en el polvo.
They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.
Shall it go down with me to the gates of Sheol, or descend together into the dust?”
