Entonces Baldad de Suhá, tomó la palabra y dijo:

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
¿Cuándo acabaréis, oh Job, de hablar vaciedades? Haceos cargo de lo que os decimos antes que respondáis, y después hablemos.
¿Cuándo pondréis fin á las palabras? Entended, y después hablemos.
How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak.
“How long will you hunt for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.
Pero, ¿por qué nos tienes por bestias, y somos como basura a vuestros ojos?
¿Por qué somos tenidos por bestias, y en vuestros ojos somos viles?
Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight?
Why are we counted as animals, which have become unclean in your sight?
Oh tú que te quitas la vida por tu furor, ¿piensas que por ti quedará abandonada la tierra, y serán los peñascos trasladados de su sitio?
Oh tú, que despedazas tu alma con tu furor, ¿será dejada la tierra por tu causa, y serán traspasadas de su lugar las peñas?
He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place?
You who tear yourself in your anger, will the earth be forsaken for you? Or will the rock be removed out of its place?
¿No es cierto que la luz o prosperidad del impío se ha de apagar? ¿Y que no dará resplandor la llama de su fuego?
Ciertamente la luz de los impíos será apagada, y no resplandecerá la centella de su fuego.
Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.
“Yes, the light of the wicked will be put out. The spark of his fire won’t shine.
En su casa la luz se convertirá en tinieblas, y se apagará la lámpara que está colgada sobre él.
La luz se oscurecerá en su tienda, y apagaráse sobre él su lámpara.
The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.
The light will be dark in his tent. His lamp above him will be put out.
Sus largos y briosos pasos quedarán cortados, y su mismo consejo le llevará al precipicio.
Los pasos de su pujanza serán acortados, y precipitarálo su mismo consejo.
The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
The steps of his strength will be shortened. His own counsel will cast him down.
Porque ha metido sus pies en la red, y anda enredado entre sus mallas.
Porque red será echada en sus pies, y sobre red andará.
For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare.
For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he wanders into its mesh.
Su pie quedará cogido en el lazo, y el cazador arderá de sed por atraparle.
Lazo prenderá su calcañar: afirmaráse la trampa contra él.
The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him.
A snare will take him by the heel. A trap will catch him.
Escondido está en el suelo el lazo, y armadas en las sendas las redes.
Su cuerda está escondida en la tierra, y su torzuelo sobre la senda.
The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.
A noose is hidden for him in the ground, a trap for him on the path.
De todas partes le aterrarán espantos y temores, y le embarazarán sus pies.
De todas partes lo asombrarán temores, y haránle huir desconcertado.
Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.
Terrors will make him afraid on every side, and will chase him at his heels.
Aunque robusto, caerá en debilidad por causa del hambre, y la falta de alimento descubrirá sus costillas.
Su fuerza será hambrienta, y á su lado estará aparejado quebrantamiento.
His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side.
His strength will be famished. Calamity will be ready at his side.
Acerbísima muerte devorará la belleza de sus carnes y consumirá la fuerza de sus brazos.
El primogénito de la muerte comerá los ramos de su piel, y devorará sus miembros.
It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.
The members of his body will be devoured. The firstborn of death will devour his members.
Arrancado será de su habitación el objeto de sus esperanzas, y la muerte como soberana le pondrá el pie sobre la cerviz.
Su confianza será arrancada de su tienda, y harále esto llevar al rey de los espantos.
His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors.
He will be rooted out of the security of his tent. He will be brought to the king of terrors.
Sus compañeros vendrán a morar en su habitación luego que muera, y será perfumada la casa con azufre.
En su tienda morará como si no fuese suya: piedra azufre será esparcida sobre su morada.
It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
There will dwell in his tent that which is none of his. Sulfur will be scattered on his habitation.
Por abajo se sacarán sus raíces, y por arriba serán cortadas sus ramas.
Abajo se secarán sus raíces, y arriba serán cortadas sus ramas.
His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.
His roots will be dried up beneath. His branch will be cut off above.
Será borrada de la tierra su memoria, y no se hará honrosa mención de su nombre en las plazas.
Su memoria perecerá de la tierra, y no tendrá nombre por las calles.
His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street.
His memory will perish from the earth. He will have no name in the street.
De la luz será arrojado a las tinieblas, y desterrado fuera del mundo.
De la luz será lanzado á las tinieblas, y echado fuera del mundo.
He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
He will be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
No quedará de él hijo ni nieto en su pueblo, ni rastro ninguno de sus reliquias en todo el país en que habitaba.
No tendrá hijo ni nieto en su pueblo, ni quien le suceda en sus moradas.
He shall neither have son nor nephew among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.
He will have neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any remaining where he lived.
En este su día terrible quedarán atónitos los que vendrán después, y horrorizados sus compañeros.
Sobre su día se espantarán los por venir, como ocupó el pavor á los que fueron antes.
They that come after him shall be astonied at his day, as they that went before were affrighted.
Those who come after will be astonished at his day, as those who went before were frightened.
Tal será la ruina de la casa del impío, y éste es el paradero de aquel que no conoce ni teme a Dios.
Ciertamente tales son las moradas del impío, y este será el lugar del que no conoció á Dios.
Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
Surely such are the dwellings of the unrighteous. This is the place of him who doesn’t know God.”
