Wie lange wollt ihr meine Seele plagen und mich mit Worten zermalmen?
¿Hasta cuándo angustiaréis mi alma, y me moleréis con palabras?
How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
“How long will you torment me, and crush me with words?
Schon zehnmal ist es, daß ihr mich geschmäht habt; ihr schämet euch nicht, mich zu verletzen.
Ya me habéis vituperado diez veces: ¿no os avergonzáis de descomediros delante de mí?
These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.
You have reproached me ten times. You aren’t ashamed that you attack me.
Und habe ich auch wirklich geirrt, so bleibt doch mein Irrtum bei mir.
Sea así que realmente haya yo errado, conmigo se quedará mi yerro.
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
If it is true that I have erred, my error remains with myself.
Wenn ihr wirklich wider mich großtun wollt, und wider mich dartun meine Schmach,
Mas si vosotros os engrandeciereis contra mí, y adujereis contra mí mi oprobio,
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach,
so wisset denn, daß Gott mich in meinem Rechte gebeugt und mich umstellt hat mit seinem Netze.
Sabed ahora que Dios me ha trastornado, y traído en derredor su red sobre mí.
Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.
know now that God has subverted me, and has surrounded me with his net.
Siehe, ich schreie über Gewalttat, und werde nicht erhört; ich rufe um Hilfe, und da ist kein Recht.
He aquí yo clamaré agravio, y no seré oído: daré voces, y no habrá juicio.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
“Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard. I cry for help, but there is no justice.
Er hat meinen Weg verzäunt, daß ich nicht hinüber kann, und auf meine Pfade legte er Finsternis.
Cercó de vallado mi camino, y no pasaré; y sobre mis veredas puso tinieblas.
He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
He has walled up my way so that I can’t pass, and has set darkness in my paths.
Meine Ehre hat er mir ausgezogen, und weggenommen die Krone meines Hauptes.
Hame despojado de mi gloria, y quitado la corona de mi cabeza.
He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.

Er hat mich niedergerissen ringsum, so daß ich vergehe, und hat meine Hoffnung ausgerissen wie einen Baum.
Arruinóme por todos lados, y perezco; y ha hecho pasar mi esperanza como árbol arrancado.
He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
He has broken me down on every side, and I am gone. He has plucked my hope up like a tree.
Und seinen Zorn ließ er wider mich entbrennen, und achtete mich seinen Feinden gleich.
E hizo inflamar contra mí su furor, y contóme para sí entre sus enemigos.
He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.
He has also kindled his wrath against me. He counts me among his adversaries.
Allzumal kamen seine Scharen und bahnten ihren Weg wider mich, und lagerten sich rings um mein Zelt.
Vinieron sus ejércitos á una, y trillaron sobre mí su camino, y asentaron campo en derredor de mi tienda.
His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.
His troops come on together, build a siege ramp against me, and encamp around my tent.
Meine Brüder hat er von mir entfernt, und meine Bekannten sind mir ganz entfremdet.
Hizo alejar de mí mis hermanos, y positivamente se extrañaron de mí mis conocidos.
He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.

Meine Verwandten bleiben aus, und meine Vertrauten haben mich vergessen.
Mis parientes se detuvieron, y mis conocidos se olvidaron de mí.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

Meine Hausgenossen und meine Mägde achten mich für einen Fremden; ein Ausländer bin ich in ihren Augen geworden.
Los moradores de mi casa y mis criadas me tuvieron por extraño: forastero fuí yo en sus ojos.
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
Those who dwell in my house and my maids consider me a stranger. I am an alien in their sight.
Meinem Knechte rufe ich, und er antwortet nicht; mit meinem Munde muß ich zu ihm flehen.
Llamé á mi siervo, y no respondió; de mi propia boca le suplicaba.
I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.
I call to my servant, and he gives me no answer. I beg him with my mouth.
Mein Atem ist meinem Weibe zuwider, und mein übler Geruch den Kindern meiner Mutter.
Mi aliento vino á ser extraño á mi mujer, aunque por los hijos de mis entrañas le rogaba.
My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children’s sake of mine own body.
My breath is offensive to my wife. I am loathsome to the children of my own mother.
Selbst Buben verachten mich; will ich aufstehen, so reden sie über mich.
Aun los muchachos me menospreciaron: en levantándome, hablaban contra mí.
Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.

Alle meine Vertrauten verabscheuen mich, und die ich liebte, haben sich gegen mich gekehrt.
Todos mis confidentes me aborrecieron; y los que yo amaba, se tornaron contra mí.
All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
All my familiar friends abhor me. They whom I loved have turned against me.
Mein Gebein klebt an meiner Haut und an meinem Fleische, und nur mit der Haut meiner Zähne bin ich entronnen.
Mi cuero y mi carne se pegaron á mis huesos; y he escapado con la piel de mis dientes.
My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
My bones stick to my skin and to my flesh. I have escaped by the skin of my teeth.
Erbarmet euch meiner, erbarmet euch meiner, ihr meine Freunde! Denn die Hand Gottes hat mich angetastet.
Oh vosotros mis amigos, tened compasión de mí, tened compasión de mí; porque la mano de Dios me ha tocado.
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.

Warum verfolget ihr mich wie Gott, und werdet meines Fleisches nicht satt?
¿Por qué me perseguís como Dios, y no os hartáis de mis carnes?
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

O daß doch meine Worte aufgeschrieben würden! O daß sie in ein Buch gezeichnet würden,
¡Quién diese ahora que mis palabras fuesen escritas! ¡quién diese que se escribieran en un libro!
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
“Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book!
mit eisernem Griffel und Blei in den Felsen eingehauen auf ewig!
¡Que con cincel de hierro y con plomo fuesen en piedra esculpidas para siempre!
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
That with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever!
Und ich, ich weiß, daß mein Erlöser lebt, und als der Letzte wird er auf der Erde stehen;
Yo sé que mi Redentor vive, y al fin se levantará sobre el polvo:
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth.
und ist nach meiner Haut dieses da zerstört, so werde ich aus meinem Fleische Gott anschauen,
Y después de deshecha esta mi piel, aun he de ver en mi carne á Dios;
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
After my skin is destroyed, then I will see God in my flesh,
welchen ich selbst mir anschauen, und den meine Augen sehen werden, und kein anderer: meine Nieren verschmachten in meinem Innern. -
Al cual yo tengo de ver por mí, y mis ojos lo verán, y no otro, aunque mis riñones se consuman dentro de mí.
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
whom I, even I, will see on my side. My eyes will see, and not as a stranger. “My heart is consumed within me.
Wenn ihr saget: Wie wollen wir ihn verfolgen? und daß die Wurzel der Sache in mir sich befinde,
Mas debierais decir: ¿Por qué lo perseguimos? ya que la raíz del negocio en mí se halla.
But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
If you say, ‘How we will persecute him!’ because the root of the matter is found in me,
so fürchtet euch vor dem Schwerte! Denn das Schwert ist der Grimm über die Missetaten; auf daß ihr wisset, daß ein Gericht ist.
Temed vosotros delante de la espada; porque sobreviene el furor de la espada á causa de las injusticias, para que sepáis que hay un juicio.
Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
