“⌞How long⌟ will you torment me and crush me with words?
¿Hasta cuándo angustiaréis mi alma, y me moleréis con palabras?
How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
“How long will you torment me, and crush me with words?
These ten times you have disgraced me; you are not ashamed that you have attacked me.
Ya me habéis vituperado diez veces: ¿no os avergonzáis de descomediros delante de mí?
These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.
You have reproached me ten times. You aren’t ashamed that you attack me.
And what is more, if I have truly erred, my error remains with me.
Sea así que realmente haya yo errado, conmigo se quedará mi yerro.
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
If it is true that I have erred, my error remains with myself.
If indeed you must magnify yourselves against me, and you must let my disgrace argue against me,
Mas si vosotros os engrandeciereis contra mí, y adujereis contra mí mi oprobio,
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach,
know then that God has wronged me and has surrounded me with his net.
Sabed ahora que Dios me ha trastornado, y traído en derredor su red sobre mí.
Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.

“Look, I cry out, ‘Violence!’ but I am not answered; I cry out, but there is no justice.
He aquí yo clamaré agravio, y no seré oído: daré voces, y no habrá juicio.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
“Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard. I cry for help, but there is no justice.
He has walled up my way so that I cannot pass; and he has set darkness upon my paths.
Cercó de vallado mi camino, y no pasaré; y sobre mis veredas puso tinieblas.
He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
He has walled up my way so that I can’t pass, and has set darkness in my paths.
He has taken my glory from me, and he has removed the crown of my head.
Hame despojado de mi gloria, y quitado la corona de mi cabeza.

He has broken me down all around, and I am gone. And he has uprooted my hope like a tree,
Arruinóme por todos lados, y perezco; y ha hecho pasar mi esperanza como árbol arrancado.

E hizo inflamar contra mí su furor, y contóme para sí entre sus enemigos.

His troops have come together and have thrown up their rampart against me and have encamped around my tent.
Vinieron sus ejércitos á una, y trillaron sobre mí su camino, y asentaron campo en derredor de mi tienda.
His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.
His troops come on together, build a siege ramp against me, and encamp around my tent.
“He has removed my kinsfolk from me, and my acquaintances have only turned aside from me.
Hizo alejar de mí mis hermanos, y positivamente se extrañaron de mí mis conocidos.
He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
“He has put my brothers far from me. My acquaintances are wholly estranged from me.
My relatives have failed, and my close friends have forgotten me.
Mis parientes se detuvieron, y mis conocidos se olvidaron de mí.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
My relatives have gone away. My familiar friends have forgotten me.
The sojourners in my house and my slave women count me as a stranger; I have become a foreigner in their eyes.
Los moradores de mi casa y mis criadas me tuvieron por extraño: forastero fuí yo en sus ojos.
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
Those who dwell in my house and my maids consider me a stranger. I am an alien in their sight.
I call to my servant, but he does not answer; I must ⌞personally⌟ plead with him.
Llamé á mi siervo, y no respondió; de mi propia boca le suplicaba.

My breath is repulsive to my wife, and I am loathsome to ⌞my own family⌟.

Little boys also despise me; when I rise, then they talk against me.
Aun los muchachos me menospreciaron: en levantándome, hablaban contra mí.
Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.
Even young children despise me. If I arise, they speak against me.
All ⌞my intimate friends⌟ abhor me, and these whom I have loved have turned against me.
Todos mis confidentes me aborrecieron; y los que yo amaba, se tornaron contra mí.
All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
All my familiar friends abhor me. They whom I loved have turned against me.
My bones cling to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped by the skin of my teeth.

“Pity me, pity me, you my friends, for God’s hand has touched me.

Why do you pursue me like God? And are not satisfied with my flesh?
¿Por qué me perseguís como Dios, y no os hartáis de mis carnes?

“⌞O that⌟ my words could be written down! ⌞O that they could be inscribed in a scroll⌟!
¡Quién diese ahora que mis palabras fuesen escritas! ¡quién diese que se escribieran en un libro!
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
“Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book!
That with a pen of iron and with lead they might be engraved on a rock forever!
¡Que con cincel de hierro y con plomo fuesen en piedra esculpidas para siempre!
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!

But I myself know that my redeemer is alive, and at the last he will stand up upon ⌞the earth⌟.
Yo sé que mi Redentor vive, y al fin se levantará sobre el polvo:
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth.
And after my skin has been thus destroyed, but from my flesh I will see God,
Y después de deshecha esta mi piel, aun he de ver en mi carne á Dios;
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
After my skin is destroyed, then I will see God in my flesh,
whom ⌞I will see for myself⌟, and whom my eyes will see and not a stranger. ⌞My heart faints within me⌟.
Al cual yo tengo de ver por mí, y mis ojos lo verán, y no otro, aunque mis riñones se consuman dentro de mí.
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

“If you say, ‘How will we persecute him?’ And ‘The root of the trouble is found’ in me,
Mas debierais decir: ¿Por qué lo perseguimos? ya que la raíz del negocio en mí se halla.
But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
If you say, ‘How we will persecute him!’ because the root of the matter is found in me,
be afraid for yourselves ⌞because of the sword⌟, for wrath brings punishment by the sword, so that you may know that there is judgment.”
Temed vosotros delante de la espada; porque sobreviene el furor de la espada á causa de las injusticias, para que sepáis que hay un juicio.
Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
