Wie lange plagt ihr doch meine Seele und peinigt mich mit Worten?
¿Hasta cuándo angustiaréis mi alma, y me moleréis con palabras?
How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
“How long will you torment me, and crush me with words?
Ihr habt mich nun zehnmal gehöhnt und schämt euch nicht, daß ihr mich also umtreibt.
Ya me habéis vituperado diez veces: ¿no os avergonzáis de descomediros delante de mí?
These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.
You have reproached me ten times. You aren’t ashamed that you attack me.
Irre ich, so irre ich mir.
Sea así que realmente haya yo errado, conmigo se quedará mi yerro.
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
If it is true that I have erred, my error remains with myself.
Wollt ihr wahrlich euch über mich erheben und wollt meine Schmach mir beweisen,
Mas si vosotros os engrandeciereis contra mí, y adujereis contra mí mi oprobio,
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach,
so merkt doch nun einmal, daß mir Gott Unrecht tut und hat mich mit seinem Jagdstrick umgeben.
Sabed ahora que Dios me ha trastornado, y traído en derredor su red sobre mí.
Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.
know now that God has subverted me, and has surrounded me with his net.
Siehe, ob ich schon schreie über Frevel, so werde ich doch nicht erhört; ich rufe, und ist kein Recht da.
He aquí yo clamaré agravio, y no seré oído: daré voces, y no habrá juicio.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.

Er hat meinen Weg verzäunt, daß ich nicht kann hinübergehen, und hat Finsternis auf meinen Steig gestellt.
Cercó de vallado mi camino, y no pasaré; y sobre mis veredas puso tinieblas.
He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
He has walled up my way so that I can’t pass, and has set darkness in my paths.
Er hat meine Ehre mir ausgezogen und die Krone von meinem Haupt genommen.
Hame despojado de mi gloria, y quitado la corona de mi cabeza.
He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.

Er hat mich zerbrochen um und um und läßt mich gehen und hat ausgerissen meine Hoffnung wie einen Baum.
Arruinóme por todos lados, y perezco; y ha hecho pasar mi esperanza como árbol arrancado.
He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.

Sein Zorn ist über mich ergrimmt, und er achtet mich für seinen Feind.
E hizo inflamar contra mí su furor, y contóme para sí entre sus enemigos.
He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.

Seine Kriegsscharen sind miteinander gekommen und haben ihren Weg gegen mich gebahnt und haben sich um meine Hütte her gelagert.
Vinieron sus ejércitos á una, y trillaron sobre mí su camino, y asentaron campo en derredor de mi tienda.
His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.

Er hat meine Brüder fern von mir getan, und meine Verwandten sind mir fremd geworden.
Hizo alejar de mí mis hermanos, y positivamente se extrañaron de mí mis conocidos.
He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
“He has put my brothers far from me. My acquaintances are wholly estranged from me.
Meine Nächsten haben sich entzogen, und meine Freunde haben mein vergessen.
Mis parientes se detuvieron, y mis conocidos se olvidaron de mí.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
My relatives have gone away. My familiar friends have forgotten me.
Meine Hausgenossen und meine Mägde achten mich für fremd; ich bin unbekannt geworden vor ihren Augen.
Los moradores de mi casa y mis criadas me tuvieron por extraño: forastero fuí yo en sus ojos.
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
Those who dwell in my house and my maids consider me a stranger. I am an alien in their sight.
Ich rief meinen Knecht, und er antwortete mir nicht; ich mußte ihn anflehen mit eigenem Munde.
Llamé á mi siervo, y no respondió; de mi propia boca le suplicaba.
I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.

Mein Odem ist zuwider meinem Weibe, und ich bin ein Ekel den Kindern meines Leibes.
Mi aliento vino á ser extraño á mi mujer, aunque por los hijos de mis entrañas le rogaba.
My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children’s sake of mine own body.

Auch die jungen Kinder geben nichts auf mich; wenn ich ihnen widerstehe, so geben sie mir böse Worte.
Aun los muchachos me menospreciaron: en levantándome, hablaban contra mí.
Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.

Alle meine Getreuen haben einen Greuel an mir; und die ich liebhatte, haben sich auch gegen mich gekehrt.
Todos mis confidentes me aborrecieron; y los que yo amaba, se tornaron contra mí.
All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
All my familiar friends abhor me. They whom I loved have turned against me.
Mein Gebein hanget an mir an Haut und Fleisch, und ich kann meine Zähne mit der Haut nicht bedecken.
Mi cuero y mi carne se pegaron á mis huesos; y he escapado con la piel de mis dientes.
My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
My bones stick to my skin and to my flesh. I have escaped by the skin of my teeth.
Erbarmt euch mein, erbarmt euch mein, ihr meine Freunde! denn die Hand Gottes hat mich getroffen.
Oh vosotros mis amigos, tened compasión de mí, tened compasión de mí; porque la mano de Dios me ha tocado.
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.

Warum verfolgt ihr mich gleich wie Gott und könnt meines Fleisches nicht satt werden?
¿Por qué me perseguís como Dios, y no os hartáis de mis carnes?
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

Ach daß meine Reden geschrieben würden! ach daß sie in ein Buch gestellt würden!
¡Quién diese ahora que mis palabras fuesen escritas! ¡quién diese que se escribieran en un libro!
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
“Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book!
mit einem eisernen Griffel auf Blei und zum ewigem Gedächtnis in Stein gehauen würden!
¡Que con cincel de hierro y con plomo fuesen en piedra esculpidas para siempre!
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
That with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever!
Aber ich weiß, daß mein Erlöser lebt; und als der letzte wird er über dem Staube sich erheben.
Yo sé que mi Redentor vive, y al fin se levantará sobre el polvo:
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth.
Und nachdem diese meine Haut zerschlagen ist, werde ich ohne mein Fleisch Gott sehen.
Y después de deshecha esta mi piel, aun he de ver en mi carne á Dios;
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
After my skin is destroyed, then I will see God in my flesh,
Denselben werde ich mir sehen, und meine Augen werden ihn schauen, und kein Fremder. Darnach sehnen sich meine Nieren in meinem Schoß.
Al cual yo tengo de ver por mí, y mis ojos lo verán, y no otro, aunque mis riñones se consuman dentro de mí.
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
whom I, even I, will see on my side. My eyes will see, and not as a stranger. “My heart is consumed within me.
Wenn ihr sprecht: Wie wollen wir ihn verfolgen und eine Sache gegen ihn finden!
Mas debierais decir: ¿Por qué lo perseguimos? ya que la raíz del negocio en mí se halla.
But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
If you say, ‘How we will persecute him!’ because the root of the matter is found in me,
so fürchtet euch vor dem Schwert; denn das Schwert ist der Zorn über die Missetaten, auf daß ihr wißt, daß ein Gericht sei.
Temed vosotros delante de la espada; porque sobreviene el furor de la espada á causa de las injusticias, para que sepáis que hay un juicio.
Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
