Wie lange wollt ihr doch meine Seele betrüben und mich mit euren Reden niederdrücken?
¿Hasta cuándo angustiaréis mi alma, y me moleréis con palabras?
How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
“How long will you torment me, and crush me with words?
Ihr habt mich nun zehnmal geschmäht; schämt ihr euch nicht, mich so zu mißhandeln?
Ya me habéis vituperado diez veces: ¿no os avergonzáis de descomediros delante de mí?
These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.
You have reproached me ten times. You aren’t ashamed that you attack me.
Habe ich aber gefehlt, so trifft doch wahrlich mein Vergehen mich selbst!
Sea así que realmente haya yo errado, conmigo se quedará mi yerro.
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
If it is true that I have erred, my error remains with myself.
Wollt ihr aber wirklich großtun gegen mich und mir meine Schmach vorwerfen,
Mas si vosotros os engrandeciereis contra mí, y adujereis contra mí mi oprobio,
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach,
so erkennet doch, daß Gott mich gebeugt und sein Netz über mich geworfen hat.
Sabed ahora que Dios me ha trastornado, y traído en derredor su red sobre mí.
Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.

Klage ich über Gewalttätigkeit, so erhalte ich keine Antwort, und schreie ich um Hilfe, so finde ich kein Recht.
He aquí yo clamaré agravio, y no seré oído: daré voces, y no habrá juicio.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.

Undurchdringlich hat er mir den Weg verzäunt und über meine Pfade Finsternis gebreitet.
Cercó de vallado mi camino, y no pasaré; y sobre mis veredas puso tinieblas.
He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
He has walled up my way so that I can’t pass, and has set darkness in my paths.
Er hat mich meiner Herrlichkeit entkleidet und mir die Krone vom Haupte weggenommen.
Hame despojado de mi gloria, y quitado la corona de mi cabeza.

Er hat mich gänzlich niedergerissen, so daß ich vergehe, und hat meine Hoffnung entwurzelt wie einen Baum.
Arruinóme por todos lados, y perezco; y ha hecho pasar mi esperanza como árbol arrancado.
He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.

Sein Zorn ist wider mich entbrannt, und er sieht mich an als seinen Feind.
E hizo inflamar contra mí su furor, y contóme para sí entre sus enemigos.
He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.

Seine Scharen rücken allzumal aus und bahnen sich einen Weg gegen mich und lagern sich um meine Hütte her.
Vinieron sus ejércitos á una, y trillaron sobre mí su camino, y asentaron campo en derredor de mi tienda.
His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.

Meine Brüder hat er von mir verscheucht, und die mich kennen, tun fremd gegen mich.
Hizo alejar de mí mis hermanos, y positivamente se extrañaron de mí mis conocidos.
He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.

Meine Verwandten bleiben aus, und meine Bekannten verlassen mich.

My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

Meine Hausgenossen und meine Mägde halten mich für einen Fremden, sie sehen mich als einen Unbekannten an.
Los moradores de mi casa y mis criadas me tuvieron por extraño: forastero fuí yo en sus ojos.
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
Those who dwell in my house and my maids consider me a stranger. I am an alien in their sight.
Rufe ich meinen Knecht, so antwortet er mir nicht, ich muß ihn mit meinem Munde anflehen.
Llamé á mi siervo, y no respondió; de mi propia boca le suplicaba.
I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.

Mein Atem ist meinem Weibe zuwider und mein Gestank den Söhnen meiner Mutter.

My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children’s sake of mine own body.

Sogar Buben verachten mich; stehe ich auf, so reden sie wider mich.
Aun los muchachos me menospreciaron: en levantándome, hablaban contra mí.
Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.

Alle meine Vertrauten verabscheuen mich, und die ich liebte, haben sich gegen mich gewandt.
Todos mis confidentes me aborrecieron; y los que yo amaba, se tornaron contra mí.
All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.

An meiner Haut und meinem Fleisch klebt mein Gebein, und ich habe kaum noch Haut, um meine Zähne zu behalten.
Mi cuero y mi carne se pegaron á mis huesos; y he escapado con la piel de mis dientes.
My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

Warum verfolgt ihr mich wie Gott und werdet nicht satt, mich zu zerfleischen?
¿Por qué me perseguís como Dios, y no os hartáis de mis carnes?
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

O daß doch meine Worte aufgezeichnet und daß sie in ein Buch eingetragen,
¡Quién diese ahora que mis palabras fuesen escritas! ¡quién diese que se escribieran en un libro!
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!

daß sie mit eisernem Griffel in Blei oder auf ewig in einen Felsen gegraben würden:
¡Que con cincel de hierro y con plomo fuesen en piedra esculpidas para siempre!
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
That with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever!
Ich weiß, daß mein Erlöser lebt, und er wird zuletzt über dem Staube stehen.
Yo sé que mi Redentor vive, y al fin se levantará sobre el polvo:
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth.
Und nachdem diese meine Hülle zerbrochen ist, alsdann werde ich, von meinem Fleische los, Gott schauen.
Y después de deshecha esta mi piel, aun he de ver en mi carne á Dios;
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
After my skin is destroyed, then I will see God in my flesh,
Den werde ich mir ansehen, meine Augen werden ihn schauen, ohne Ihm fremd zu sein. Es schmachten meine Nieren in mir!
Al cual yo tengo de ver por mí, y mis ojos lo verán, y no otro, aunque mis riñones se consuman dentro de mí.
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
whom I, even I, will see on my side. My eyes will see, and not as a stranger. “My heart is consumed within me.
Denn ihr sprechet: «Wie wollen wir ihn verfolgen!» und die Wurzel der Sache sei in mir zu finden!
Mas debierais decir: ¿Por qué lo perseguimos? ya que la raíz del negocio en mí se halla.
But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
If you say, ‘How we will persecute him!’ because the root of the matter is found in me,
Nehmet euch in acht vor dem Schwert! denn das Schwert wird die Sünden rächen, damit ihr wisset, daß ein Gericht ist.
Temed vosotros delante de la espada; porque sobreviene el furor de la espada á causa de las injusticias, para que sepáis que hay un juicio.
Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
