Tenía una familia grande formada por siete hijos y tres hijas, y era inmensamente rico, pues poseía siete mil ovejas, tres mil camellos, quinientas yuntas de bueyes, quinientas burras, y muchísimos siervos. Era en efecto el más rico hacendado de toda aquella región.
