Und es geschah, wenn die Tage des Gastmahls herum waren, so sandte Hiob hin und heiligte sie; und er stand frühmorgens auf und opferte Brandopfer nach ihrer aller Zahl; denn Hiob sprach: Vielleicht haben meine Kinder gesündigt und sich in ihrem Herzen von Gott losgesagt. So tat Hiob allezeit.
Y acontecía que, habiendo pasado en turno los días del convite, Job enviaba y santificábalos, y levantábase de mañana y ofrecía holocaustos conforme al número de todos ellos. Porque decía Job: Quizá habrán pecado mis hijos, y habrán blasfemado á Dios en sus corazones. De esta manera hacía todos los días.
And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Und der HERR sprach zum Satan: Wo kommst du her? Und der Satan antwortete dem HERRN und sprach: Vom Durchstreifen der Erde und vom Umherwandeln auf ihr.
Y dijo Jehová á Satán: ¿De dónde vienes? Y respondiendo Satán á Jehová, dijo: De rodear la tierra, y de andar por ella.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, “From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”
Und der HERR sprach zum Satan: Hast du achtgehabt auf meinen Knecht Hiob? Denn seinesgleichen ist kein Mann auf der Erde, vollkommen und rechtschaffen, gottesfürchtig und das Böse meidend.
Y Jehová dijo á Satán: ¿No has considerado á mi siervo Job, que no hay otro como él en la tierra, varón perfecto y recto, temeroso de Dios, y apartado de mal?
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
The LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant, Job? For there is no one like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil.”
Und der Satan antwortete dem HERRN und sprach: Ist es umsonst, dass Hiob Gott fürchtet?
Y respondiendo Satán á Jehová, dijo: ¿Teme Job á Dios de balde?
Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?
Hast du nicht selbst ihn und sein Haus und alles, was er hat, ringsum eingezäunt? Du hast das Werk seiner Hände gesegnet, und sein Besitztum hat sich ausgebreitet im Land.
¿No le has tú cercado á él, y á su casa, y á todo lo que tiene en derredor? Al trabajo de sus manos has dado bendición; por tanto su hacienda ha crecido sobre la tierra.
Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Aber strecke einmal deine Hand aus und taste alles an, was er hat, ob er sich nicht offen von dir lossagen wird.
Mas extiende ahora tu mano, y toca á todo lo que tiene, y verás si no te blasfema en tu rostro.
But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
But stretch out your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face.”
Da sprach der HERR zum Satan: Siehe, alles, was er hat, ist in deiner Hand; nur nach ihm strecke deine Hand nicht aus. Und der Satan ging von dem Angesicht des HERRN weg.
Y dijo Jehová á Satán: He aquí, todo lo que tiene está en tu mano: solamente no pongas tu mano sobre él. Y salióse Satán de delante de Jehová.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
The LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself don’t stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
Und es geschah eines Tages, als seine Söhne und seine Töchter im Haus ihres erstgeborenen Bruders aßen und Wein tranken,
Y un día aconteció que sus hijos é hijas comían y bebían vino en casa de su hermano el primogénito,
And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

da kam ein Bote zu Hiob und sprach: Die Rinder pflügten, und die Eselinnen weideten neben ihnen,
Y vino un mensajero á Job, que le dijo: Estando arando los bueyes, y las asnas paciendo cerca de ellos,
And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:
that a messenger came to Job, and said, “The oxen were plowing, and the donkeys feeding beside them,
da fielen Sabäer ein und nahmen sie weg, und die Knechte erschlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes; und ich bin entronnen, nur ich allein, um es dir zu berichten.
Acometieron los Sabeos, y tomáronlos, é hirieron á los mozos á filo de espada: solamente escapé yo para traerte las nuevas.
And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Dieser redete noch, da kam ein anderer und sprach: Feuer Gottes ist vom Himmel gefallen und hat das Kleinvieh und die Knechte verbrannt und sie verzehrt; und ich bin entronnen, nur ich allein, um es dir zu berichten.
Aun estaba éste hablando, y vino otro que dijo: Fuego de Dios cayó del cielo, que quemó las ovejas y los mozos, y los consumió: solamente escapé yo solo para traerte las nuevas.
While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God has fallen from the sky, and has burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
Dieser redete noch, da kam ein anderer und sprach: Die Chaldäer haben drei Haufen gebildet und sind über die Kamele hergefallen und haben sie weggenommen, und die Knechte haben sie mit der Schärfe des Schwertes erschlagen; und ich bin entronnen, nur ich allein, um es dir zu berichten.
Todavía estaba éste hablando, y vino otro que dijo: Los Caldeos hicieron tres escuadrones, y dieron sobre los camellos, y tomáronlos, é hirieron á los mozos á filo de espada; y solamente escapé yo solo para traerte las nuevas.
While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Während dieser noch redete, da kam ein anderer und sprach: Deine Söhne und deine Töchter aßen und tranken Wein im Haus ihres erstgeborenen Bruders;
Entre tanto que éste hablaba, vino otro que dijo: Tus hijos y tus hijas estaban comiendo y bebiendo vino en casa de su hermano el primogénito;
While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

und siehe, ein starker Wind kam von jenseits der Wüste her und stieß an die vier Ecken des Hauses, und es fiel auf die jungen Leute, und sie starben; und ich bin entronnen, nur ich allein, um es dir zu berichten.
Y he aquí un gran viento que vino del lado del desierto, é hirió las cuatro esquinas de la casa, y cayó sobre los mozos, y murieron; y solamente escapé yo solo para traerte las nuevas.
And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Da stand Hiob auf und zerriss sein Gewand und schor sein Haupt; und er fiel zur Erde nieder und betete an.
Entonces Job se levantó, y rasgó su manto, y trasquiló su cabeza, y cayendo en tierra adoró;
Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped.
Und er sprach: Nackt bin ich aus meiner Mutter Leib gekommen, und nackt werde ich dahin zurückkehren; der HERR hat gegeben, und der HERR hat genommen, der Name des HERRN sei gepriesen!
Y dijo: Desnudo salí del vientre de mi madre, y desnudo tornaré allá. Jehová dió, y Jehová quitó: sea el nombre de Jehová bendito.
And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the LORD’s name.”
Bei diesem allem sündigte Hiob nicht und schrieb Gott nichts Ungereimtes zu.
En todo esto no pecó Job, ni atribuyó á Dios despropósito alguno.
In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
In all this, Job didn’t sin, nor charge God with wrongdoing.
