Y RESPONDIÓ Sophar Naamathita, y dijo:
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
Then Zophar the Naamathite answered,
«Me apresuro a responder, pues tengo la contestación para ti:
Por cierto mis pensamientos me hacen responder, y por tanto me apresuro.
Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.
“Therefore my thoughts answer me, even by reason of my haste that is in me.
Has tratado de hacerme avergonzar de mí mismo por llamarte pecador, pero mi espíritu no me permite detenerme.
La reprensión de mi censura he oído, y háceme responder el espíritu de mi inteligencia.
I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
I have heard the reproof which puts me to shame. The spirit of my understanding answers me.
»Bien sabes tú que desde antaño, desde que Dios puso al hombre en la tierra,
¿No sabes esto que fué siempre, desde el tiempo que fué puesto el hombre sobre la tierra,
Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
Don’t you know this from old time, since man was placed on earth,
el triunfo del malvado ha sido breve, y efímero el gozo del impío.
Que la alegría de los impíos es breve, y el gozo del hipócrita por un momento?
That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
that the triumphing of the wicked is short, the joy of the godless but for a moment?
Aunque el impío sea altivo como los cielos y ande con la nariz levantada,
Si subiere su altivez hasta el cielo, y su cabeza tocare en las nubes,
Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
Though his height mount up to the heavens, and his head reach to the clouds,
perecerá para siempre, arrojado como su propio excremento. Quienes lo conocieron se preguntarán adónde habrá ido a parar.
Con su estiércol perecerá para siempre: los que le hubieren visto, dirán: ¿Qué es de él?
Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
yet he will perish forever like his own dung. Those who have seen him will say, ‘Where is he?’
Se esfumará como un sueño.
Como sueño volará, y no será hallado: y disiparáse como visión nocturna.
He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
He will fly away as a dream, and will not be found. Yes, he will be chased away like a vision of the night.
Ni sus amigos ni su familia lo volverán a ver jamás.
El ojo que le habrá visto, nunca más le verá; ni su lugar le echará más de ver.
The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
The eye which saw him will see him no more, neither will his place see him any more.
Sus hijos tendrán que resarcir a los pobres; con duro trabajo pagarán ellos lo que él robó.
Sus hijos pobres andarán rogando; y sus manos tornarán lo que él robó.
His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
His children will seek the favor of the poor. His hands will give back his wealth.
En plena juventud, sus huesos irán al polvo.
Sus huesos están llenos de sus mocedades, y con él serán sepultados en el polvo.
His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
His bones are full of his youth, but youth will lie down with him in the dust.
»Disfrutó la delicia de su maldad derritiéndola en su boca,
Si el mal se endulzó en su boca, si lo ocultaba debajo de su lengua;
Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
“Though wickedness is sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue,
sorbiéndola lentamente para que no se consumiera.
Si le parecía bien, y no lo dejaba, mas antes lo detenía entre su paladar;
Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
though he spare it, and will not let it go, but keep it still within his mouth,
Pero repentinamente los manjares que ha comido se le agrian en su interior.
Su comida se mudará en sus entrañas, hiel de áspides será dentro de él.
Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
yet his food in his bowels is turned. It is cobra venom within him.
Vomitará los despojos que tragó, Dios no le permitirá que los retenga.
Devoró riquezas, mas vomitarálas; de su vientre las sacará Dios.
He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
He has swallowed down riches, and he will vomit them up again. God will cast them out of his belly.
Para él son veneno y muerte.
Veneno de áspides chupará; matarálo lengua de víbora.
He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him.
He will suck cobra venom. The viper’s tongue will kill him.
No disfrutará de los arroyos de aceite y los torrentes de miel y requesón que robó.
No verá los arroyos, los ríos, los torrentes de miel y de manteca.
He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
He will not look at the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and butter.
Sus esfuerzos no tendrán recompensa; la riqueza no le dará dicha.
Restituirá el trabajo conforme á la hacienda que tomó; y no tragará, ni gozará.
That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.
He will restore that for which he labored, and will not swallow it down. He will not rejoice according to the substance that he has gotten.
Por cuanto ha oprimido a los pobres y se robó la casa que no construyó, jamás se repondrá.
Por cuanto quebrantó y desamparó á los pobres, robó casas, y no las edificó;
Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
For he has oppressed and forsaken the poor. He has violently taken away a house, and he will not build it up.
»Aunque siempre fue codicioso, ahora no tiene nada; de todo cuanto soñó, nada le queda.
Por tanto, no sentirá él sosiego en su vientre, ni salvará nada de lo que codiciaba.
Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
“Because he knew no quietness within him, he will not save anything of that in which he delights.
Por cuanto nada escapó de su voracidad, su bienestar no será duradero.
No quedó nada que no comiese: por tanto su bien no será durable.
There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
There was nothing left that he didn’t devour, therefore his prosperity will not endure.
»Cuando esté en la cumbre de su poderío, se meterá en dificultades; todos los malvados lo destruirán.
Cuando fuere lleno su bastimento, tendrá angustia: las manos todas de los malvados vendrán sobre él.
In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
In the fullness of his sufficiency, distress will overtake him. The hand of everyone who is in misery will come on him.
Cuando esté a punto de llenarse el estómago, Dios derramará su ira sobre él,
Cuando se pusiere á henchir su vientre, Dios enviará sobre él el furor de su ira, y harála llover sobre él y sobre su comida.
When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
When he is about to fill his belly, God will cast the fierceness of his wrath on him. It will rain on him while he is eating.
será perseguido y derribado.
Huirá de las armas de hierro, y el arco de acero le atravesará.
He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
He will flee from the iron weapon. The bronze arrow will strike him through.
Le sacarán del cuerpo la flecha, cuya punta reluciente goteará bilis. Terrores de muerte lo asaltarán.
Desenvainará y sacará saeta de su aljaba, y relumbrante pasará por su hiel: sobre él vendrán terrores.
It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
He draws it out, and it comes out of his body. Yes, the glittering point comes out of his liver. Terrors are on him.
Sus tesoros se perderán en la más profunda oscuridad. Un fuego rugiente tragará sus bienes, consumiendo cuanto ha dejado.
Todas tinieblas están guardadas para sus secretos: fuego no soplado lo devorará; su sucesor será quebrantado en su tienda.
All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
All darkness is laid up for his treasures. An unfanned fire will devour him. It will consume that which is left in his tent.
Los cielos revelarán sus pecados y la tierra dará testimonio en su contra.
Los cielos descubrirán su iniquidad, y la tierra se levantará contra él.
The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
The heavens will reveal his iniquity. The earth will rise up against him.
Su riqueza desaparecerá bajo la ira de Dios.
Los renuevos de su casa serán trasportados; serán derramados en el día de su furor.
The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
The increase of his house will depart. They will rush away in the day of his wrath.
Este es el fin que Dios reserva al malvado, tal es la herencia que le asignó».
Esta es la parte que Dios apareja al hombre impío, y la heredad que Dios le señala por su palabra.
This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
This is the portion of a wicked man from God, the heritage appointed to him by God.”
