Ouvi atentamente minhas palavras, e seja isto vossas consolações.
Oid atentamente mi palabra, y sea esto vuestros consuelos.
Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
“Listen diligently to my speech. Let this be your consolation.
Suportai-me, e eu falarei; e depois de eu ter falado, então zombai.
Soportadme, y yo hablaré; y después que hubiere hablado, escarneced.
Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
Allow me, and I also will speak. After I have spoken, mock on.
Por acaso eu me queixo de algum ser humano? Porém ainda que assim fosse ,por que meu espírito não se angustiaria?
¿Hablo yo á algún hombre? y ¿por qué no se ha de angustiar mi espíritu?
As for me, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
As for me, is my complaint to man? Why shouldn’t I be impatient?
Olhai-me, e espantai-vos; e ponde a mão sobre a boca.
Miradme, y espantaos, y poned la mano sobre la boca.
Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.
Look at me, and be astonished. Lay your hand on your mouth.
Pois quando eu me lembro disto ,me assombro, e minha carne é tomada de tremor.
Aun yo mismo, cuando me acuerdo, me asombro, y toma temblor mi carne.
Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
When I remember, I am troubled. Horror takes hold of my flesh.
Por que razão os perversos vivem, envelhecem, e ainda crescem em poder?
¿Por qué viven los impíos, y se envejecen, y aun crecen en riquezas?
Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
“Why do the wicked live, become old, yes, and grow mighty in power?
Seus filhos progridem com eles diante de seus rostos; e seus descendentes diante de seus olhos.
Su simiente con ellos, compuesta delante de ellos; y sus renuevos delante de sus ojos.
Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
Their child is established with them in their sight, their offspring before their eyes.
Suas casas têm paz, sem temor, e a vara de Deus não está contra eles.
Sus casas seguras de temor, ni hay azote de Dios sobre ellos.
Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.

Seus touros procriam, e não falham; suas vacas geram filhotes, e não abortam.
Sus vacas conciben, no abortan; paren sus vacas, y no malogran su cría.
Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
Their bulls breed without fail. Their cows calve, and don’t miscarry.
Suas crianças saem como um rebanho, e seus filhos saem dançando.
Salen sus chiquitos como manada, y sus hijos andan saltando.
They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
They send out their little ones like a flock. Their children dance.
Levantam a voz ao som de tamboril e de harpa e se alegram ao som de flauta.
Al son de tamboril y de cítara saltan, y se huelgan al son del órgano.
They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.
They sing to the tambourine and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.
Em prosperidade gastam seus dias, e em um momento descem ao mundo dos mortos.
Gastan sus días en bien, y en un momento descienden á la sepultura.
They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
They spend their days in prosperity. In an instant they go down to Sheol.
Assim dizem a Deus: Afasta-te de nós, porque não queremos conhecer teus caminhos.
Dicen pues á Dios: Apártate de nosotros, que no queremos el conocimiento de tus caminos.
Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
They tell God, ‘Depart from us, for we don’t want to know about your ways.
Quem é o Todo-Poderoso, para que o sirvamos? E de que nos aproveitará que oremos a ele?
¿Quién es el Todopoderoso, para que le sirvamos? ¿y de qué nos aprovechará que oremos á él?
What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What profit should we have, if we pray to him?’
Eis que sua prosperidade não se deve às mãos deles. Longe de mim esteja o conselho dos perversos!
He aquí que su bien no está en manos de ellos: el consejo de los impíos lejos esté de mí.
Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand. The counsel of the wicked is far from me.
Quantas vezes sucede que a lâmpada dos perversos se apaga, e sua perdição vem sobre eles, e Deus em sua ira lhes reparte dores?
¡Oh cuántas veces la lámpara de los impíos es apagada, y viene sobre ellos su quebranto, y Dios en su ira les reparte dolores!
How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.
“How often is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out, that their calamity comes on them, that God distributes sorrows in his anger?
Eles serão como palha diante do vento, como o restos de palha que o turbilhão arrebata.
Serán como la paja delante del viento, y como el tamo que arrebata el torbellino.
They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.
How often is it that they are as stubble before the wind, as chaff that the storm carries away?
Vós dizeis : Deus guarda sua violência para seus filhos. Que Deus pague ao próprio perverso ,para que o conheça.
Dios guardará para sus hijos su violencia; y le dará su pago, para que conozca.
God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
You say, ‘God lays up his iniquity for his children.’ Let him recompense it to himself, that he may know it.
Seus olhos vejam sua ruína, e beba da ira do Todo-Poderoso.
Verán sus ojos su quebranto, y beberá de la ira del Todopoderoso.
His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
Let his own eyes see his destruction. Let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
Pois que interesse teria ele em sua casa depois de si, quando o número for cortado o número de seus meses?
Porque ¿qué deleite tendrá él de su casa después de sí, siendo cortado el número de sus meses?
For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
For what does he care for his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off?
Poderia alguém ensinar conhecimento a Deus, que julga até os que estão no alto?
¿Enseñará alguien á Dios sabiduría, juzgando él á los que están elevados?
Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
“Shall any teach God knowledge, since he judges those who are high?
Alguém morre na sua força plena, estando todo tranquilo e próspero,
Este morirá en el vigor de su hermosura, todo quieto y pacífico.
One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
One dies in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
Seus baldes estando cheios de leite, e o tutano de seus ossos umedecido.
Sus colodras están llenas de leche, y sus huesos serán regados de tuétano.
His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
His pails are full of milk. The marrow of his bones is moistened.
Porém outro morre com amargura de alma, nunca tendo experimentado a prosperidade.
Y estotro morirá en amargura de ánimo, y no habiendo comido jamás con gusto.
And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
Another dies in bitterness of soul, and never tastes of good.
Juntamente jazem no pó, e os vermes os cobrem.
Igualmente yacerán ellos en el polvo, y gusanos los cubrirán.
They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
They lie down alike in the dust. The worm covers them.
Eis que eu sei vossos pensamentos, e os mais intentos que planejais contra mim.
He aquí, yo conozco vuestros pensamientos, y las imaginaciones que contra mí forjáis.
Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
“Behold, I know your thoughts, the plans with which you would wrong me.
Porque dizeis: Onde está a casa do príncipe?, e: Onde está tenda das moradas dos perversos?
Porque decís: ¿Qué es de la casa del príncipe, y qué de la tienda de las moradas de los impíos?
For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
For you say, ‘Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?’
Por acaso não perguntastes aos que passam pelo caminho, e não conheceis seus sinais?
¿No habéis preguntado á los que pasan por los caminos, por cuyas señas no negaréis,
Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
Haven’t you asked wayfaring men? Don’t you know their evidences,
Que os maus são preservados no dia da destruição, e são livrados no dia das fúrias?
Que el malo es reservado para el día de la destrucción? Presentados serán en el día de las iras.
That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
that the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity, that they are led out to the day of wrath?
Quem lhe denunciará seu caminho em sua face? E quem lhe pagará pelo que ele fez?
¿Quién le denunciará en su cara su camino? Y de lo que él hizo, ¿quién le dará el pago?
Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
Who will declare his way to his face? Who will repay him what he has done?
Finalmente ele é levado à sepultura, e no túmulo fazem vigilância.
Porque llevado será él á los sepulcros, y en el montón permanecerá.
Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
Yet he will be borne to the grave. Men will keep watch over the tomb.
Os torrões do vale lhe são doces; e todos o seguem; e adiante dele estão inúmeros.
Los terrones del valle le serán dulces; y tras de él será llevado todo hombre, y antes de él han ido innumerables.
The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.
The clods of the valley will be sweet to him. All men will draw after him, as there were innumerable before him.
Como, pois, me consolais em vão, já que vossas em vossas respostas só resta falsidade?
¿Cómo pues me consoláis en vano, viniendo á parar vuestras respuestas en falacia?
How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood?
So how can you comfort me with nonsense, because in your answers there remains only falsehood?”
