Job 22

Então Elifaz, o temanita, respondeu, dizendo:

Por acaso o homem será de algum proveito a Deus? Pode ele se beneficiar de algum sábio?

¿Traerá el hombre provecho á Dios, porque el sabio sea provechoso á sí mismo?

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

“Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

É útil ao Todo-Poderoso que sejas justo? Ganha ele algo se os teus caminhos forem íntegros?

¿Tiene su contentamiento el Omnipotente en que tú seas justificado, ó provecho de que tú hagas perfectos tus caminos?

Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?

Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him that you make your ways perfect?

Acaso ele te repreende e vem contigo a juízo por causa da tua reverência?

¿Castigaráte acaso, ó vendrá contigo á juicio porque te teme?

Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?

Is it for your piety that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment?

Ou não será por causa de tua grande malícia, e de tuas maldades que não têm fim?

Por cierto tu malicia es grande, y tus maldades no tienen fin.

Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?

Isn’t your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities.

Porque tomaste penhor a teus irmãos sem causa, e foste tu que tiraste as roupas dos nus.

Porque sacaste prenda á tus hermanos sin causa, é hiciste desnudar las ropas de los desnudos.

For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

Não deste de beber água ao cansado, e negaste o pão ao faminto.

No diste de beber agua al cansado, y detuviste el pan al hambriento.

Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.

You haven’t given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.

Porém o homem poderoso teve a terra; e o homem influente habitava nela.

Empero el hombre pudiente tuvo la tierra; y habitó en ella el distinguido.

But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.

Às viúvas despediste vazias, e os braços dos órfãos foram quebrados.

Las viudas enviaste vacías, y los brazos de los huérfanos fueron quebrados.

Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

Por isso que há laços ao redor de ti, e espanto repentino te perturbou;

Por tanto hay lazos alrededor de ti, y te turba espanto repentino;

Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;

Therefore snares are around you. Sudden fear troubles you,

Ou trevas, para que não vejas; e inundação de água te cobre.

O tinieblas, porque no veas; y abundancia de agua te cubre.

Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.

or darkness, so that you can not see, and floods of waters cover you.

Por acaso Deus não está na altura dos céus? Olha, pois, para o cume das estrelas, como estão elevadas.

¿No está Dios en la altura de los cielos? Mira lo encumbrado de las estrellas, cuán elevadas están.

Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!

“Isn’t God in the heights of heaven? See the height of the stars, how high they are!

Porém tu dizes: O que Deus sabe? Como ele julgará por entre a escuridão?

¿Y dirás tú: Qué sabe Dios? ¿cómo juzgará por medio de la oscuridad?

And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?

You say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?

As nuvens são seu esconderijo, e ele não vê; ele passeia pela abóbada do céu.

Las nubes son su escondedero, y no ve; y por el circuito del cielo se pasea.

Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he doesn’t see. He walks on the vault of the sky.’

Por acaso deste atenção para o velho caminho que pisaram os homens injustos?

¿Quieres tú guardar la senda antigua, que pisaron los hombres perversos?

Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?

Will you keep the old way, which wicked men have trodden,

Tais foram cortados antes de tempo; sobre o fundamento deles foi derramada uma enchente.

Los cuales fueron cortados antes de tiempo, cuyo fundamento fué como un río derramado:

Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:

who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream,

Eles diziam a Deus: Afasta-te de nós! O que o Todo-Poderoso pode fazer por nós?

Que decían á Dios: Apártate de nosotros. ¿Y qué les había hecho el Omnipotente?

Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?

who said to God, ‘Depart from us!’ and, ‘What can the Almighty do for us?’

Sendo ele o que havia enchido suas casas de bens. Seja, porém, longe de mim o conselho dos perversos.

Habíales él henchido sus casas de bienes. Sea empero el consejo de ellos lejos de mí.

Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

Os justos virão e se alegrarão; e o inocente os escarnecerá,

The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.

Dizendo : Certamente nossos adversários foram destruídos, e o que sobrou deles o fogo consumiu.

Fué cortada nuestra sustancia, habiendo consumido el fuego el resto de ellos.

Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.

saying, ‘Surely those who rose up against us are cut off. The fire has consumed their remnant.’

Reconcilia-te, pois, com Deus ,e terás paz; assim o bem virá a ti.

Amístate ahora con él, y tendrás paz; y por ello te vendrá bien.

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.

“Acquaint yourself with him now, and be at peace. By it, good will come to you.

Aceita, pois, a instrução de sua boca, e põe suas palavras em teu coração.

Toma ahora la ley de su boca, y pon sus palabras en tu corazón.

Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.

Please receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.

Se te converteres ao Todo-Poderoso, serás edificado; se afastares a maldade de tua tenda,

Si te tornares al Omnipotente, serás edificado; alejarás de tu tienda la aflicción;

If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.

If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up, if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents.

E lançares teu ouro no pó, o ouro de Ofir junto às rochas dos ribeiros,

Y tendrás más oro que tierra, y como piedras de arroyos oro de Ophir;

Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

Lay your treasure in the dust, the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks.

Então o próprio Todo-Poderoso será teu ouro, e tua prata maciça.

Y el Todopoderoso será tu defensa, y tendrás plata á montones.

Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.

The Almighty will be your treasure, and precious silver to you.

Porque então te deleitarás no Todo-Poderoso, e levantarás teu rosto a Deus.

Porque entonces te deleitarás en el Omnipotente, y alzarás á Dios tu rostro.

For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.

For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and will lift up your face to God.

Orarás a ele, e ele te ouvirá; e tu lhe pagarás teus votos.

Orarás á él, y él te oirá; y tú pagarás tus votos.

Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.

You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you. You will pay your vows.

Aquilo que tu determinares se cumprirá a ti, e em teus caminhos a luz brilhará.

Determinarás asimismo una cosa, y serte ha firme; y sobre tus caminos resplandecerá luz.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

You will also decree a thing, and it will be established to you. Light will shine on your ways.

Quando alguém for abatido, e tu disseres: Haja exaltação, Então Deus salvará ao humilde.

Cuando fueren abatidos, dirás tú: Ensalzamiento habrá: y Dios salvará al humilde de ojos.

When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

When they cast down, you will say, ‘be lifted up.’ He will save the humble person.

Ele libertará até ao que não é inocente, que será livrado pela pureza de tuas mãos.

El libertará la isla del inocente; y por la limpieza de tus manos será librada.

He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.

He will even deliver him who is not innocent. Yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.”
