PUESTO que no son ocultos los tiempos al Todopoderoso, ¿por qué los que le conocen no ven sus días?

Como la sequía y el calor consumen la nieve, así el Seol consume a los pecadores.

Pero Dios, con su poder, mantiene con vida a los poderosos; aunque ellos se levanten, no tienen segura la vida.

He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
Yet God preserves the mighty by his power. He rises up who has no assurance of life.
Dios los deja sentirse seguros y ellos descansan, pero él no les quita la vista de encima.
Le dieron á crédito, y se afirmó: sus ojos están sobre los caminos de ellos.
Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.
God gives them security, and they rest in it. His eyes are on their ways.
Por un momento son importantes, pero pronto desaparecen; se marchitan como la hierba, los cortan como a las espigas de trigo.
Fueron ensalzados por un poco, mas desaparecen, y son abatidos como cada cual: serán encerrados, y cortados como cabezas de espigas.

Si esto no es verdad, ¿quién me puede desmentir? ¿Quién puede probar que no tengo razón?”

And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
