1Bildad de Schuach prit la parole et dit:
2La puissance et la terreur appartiennent à Dieu; Il fait régner la paix dans ses hautes régions.
3Ses armées ne sont-elles pas innombrables? Sur qui sa lumière ne se lève-t-elle pas?
4Comment l’homme serait-il juste devant Dieu? Comment celui qui est né de la femme serait-il pur?
5Voici, la lune même n’est pas brillante, Et les étoiles ne sont pas pures à ses yeux;
6Combien moins l’homme, qui n’est qu’un ver, Le fils de l’homme, qui n’est qu’un vermisseau!

2El señorío y el temor están con él: él hace paz en sus alturas.
3¿Tienen sus ejércitos número? ¿y sobre quién no está su luz?
4¿Cómo pues se justificará el hombre con Dios? ¿y cómo será limpio el que nace de mujer?
5He aquí que ni aun la misma luna será resplandeciente, ni las estrellas son limpias delante de sus ojos:
6¿Cuánto menos el hombre que es un gusano, y el hijo de hombre, también gusano?

1Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
2Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places.
3Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?
4How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
5Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.
6How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?

1Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,

3Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise?

5Behold, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in his sight;
