So wahr Gott lebt, der mir mein Recht entzogen, und der Allmächtige, der meine Seele bitter gemacht hat,
Vive Dios, el cual ha apartado mi causa, y el Omnipotente, que amargó el alma mía,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
“As God lives, who has taken away my right, the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter
so lange mein Odem in mir ist, und der Hauch Gottes in meiner Nase:
Que todo el tiempo que mi alma estuviere en mí, y hubiere hálito de Dios en mis narices,
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
(for the length of my life is still in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils);
wenn meine Lippen Unrecht reden werden, und wenn meine Zunge Trug aussprechen wird!
Mis labios no hablarán iniquidad, ni mi lengua pronunciará engaño.
My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.

Fern sei es von mir, daß ich euch recht geben sollte; bis ich verscheide, werde ich meine Unsträflichkeit nicht von mir weichen lassen.
Nunca tal acontezca que yo os justifique: hasta morir no quitaré de mí mi integridad.
God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.

An meiner Gerechtigkeit halte ich fest und werde sie nicht fahren lassen: mein Herz schmäht nicht einen von meinen Tagen.
Mi justicia tengo asida, y no la cederé: no me reprochará mi corazón en el tiempo de mi vida.
My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

Mein Feind sei wie der Gesetzlose, und der wider mich auftritt wie der Ungerechte.
Sea como el impío mi enemigo, y como el inicuo mi adversario.
Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.

Denn was ist des Ruchlosen Hoffnung, wenn Gott abschneidet, wenn er seine Seele herauszieht?
Porque ¿cuál es la esperanza del hipócrita, por mucho que hubiere robado, cuando Dios arrebatare su alma?
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
For what is the hope of the godless, when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
Wird Gott sein Geschrei hören, wenn Bedrängnis über ihn kommt?
¿Oirá Dios su clamor cuando la tribulación sobre él viniere?
Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him?
Oder wird er sich an dem Allmächtigen ergötzen, Gott anrufen zu aller Zeit?
¿Deleitaráse en el Omnipotente? ¿invocará á Dios en todo tiempo?
Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
Will he delight himself in the Almighty, and call on God at all times?
Ich will euch belehren über die Hand Gottes; was bei dem Allmächtigen ist, will ich nicht verhehlen.
Yo os enseñaré en orden á la mano de Dios: no esconderé lo que hay para con el Omnipotente.
I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
I will teach you about the hand of God. I will not conceal that which is with the Almighty.
Siehe, ihr selbst habt es alle erschaut, und warum denn schwatzet ihr so eitel?
He aquí que todos vosotros lo habéis visto: ¿por qué pues os desvanecéis con fantasía?

Dies ist das Teil des gesetzlosen Menschen bei Gott, und das Erbe der Gewalttätigen, welches sie von dem Allmächtigen empfangen:
Esta es para con Dios la suerte del hombre impío, y la herencia que los violentos han de recibir del Omnipotente.
This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.

Wenn seine Kinder sich mehren, so ist er für das Schwert, und seine Sprößlinge, sie haben nicht satt Brot.
Si sus hijos fueren multiplicados, serán para el cuchillo; y sus pequeños no se hartarán de pan;
If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.

Seine Übriggebliebenen werden begraben durch den Tod, und seine Witwen weinen nicht.
Los que le quedaren, en muerte serán sepultados; y no llorarán sus viudas.
Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.

Wenn er Silber aufhäuft wie Staub, und Kleider bereitet wie Lehm:
Si amontonare plata como polvo, y si preparare ropa como lodo;
Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;

er bereitet sie, aber der Gerechte bekleidet sich damit; und Schuldlose teilen sich in das Silber.
Habrála él preparado, mas el justo se vestirá, y el inocente repartirá la plata.

Reich legt er sich ihn, und er tut es nicht wieder; er schlägt die Augen auf, und ist nicht mehr.
El rico dormirá, mas no será recogido: abrirá sus ojos, mas él no será.
The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
He lies down rich, but he will not do so again. He opens his eyes, and he is not.
Schrecken ereilen ihn wie Wasser, des Nachts entführt ihn ein Sturmwind.
Asirán de él terrores como aguas: torbellino lo arrebatará de noche.
Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
Terrors overtake him like waters. A storm steals him away in the night.
Der Ostwind hebt ihn empor, daß er dahinfährt, und stürmt ihn fort von seiner Stätte.
Lo antecogerá el solano, y partirá; y tempestad lo arrebatará del lugar suyo.
The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.

Und Gott schleudert auf ihn ohne Schonung; seiner Hand möchte er flüchtend entfliehen.
Dios pues descargará sobre él, y no perdonará: hará él por huir de su mano.
For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
For it hurls at him, and does not spare, as he flees away from his hand.
Man klatscht über ihn in die Hände, und zischt ihm nach von seiner Stätte aus.
Batirán sus manos sobre él, y desde su lugar le silbarán.
