“As God lives, who has taken away my right, the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter
For ⌞as long as⌟ my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nose,
Que todo el tiempo que mi alma estuviere en mí, y hubiere hálito de Dios en mis narices,
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
(for the length of my life is still in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils);
my lips surely will not speak falseness, and my tongue surely will not utter deceit.
Mis labios no hablarán iniquidad, ni mi lengua pronunciará engaño.
My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.

Far be it from me that ⌞I would say that you are right⌟; until I pass away, I will not put away from me my blamelessness.
Nunca tal acontezca que yo os justifique: hasta morir no quitaré de mí mi integridad.

“Let my enemy be like the wicked and my opponent like the unrighteous,
Sea como el impío mi enemigo, y como el inicuo mi adversario.

for what is the hope of the godless when he cuts them off, when God takes away his life?
Porque ¿cuál es la esperanza del hipócrita, por mucho que hubiere robado, cuando Dios arrebatare su alma?
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
For what is the hope of the godless, when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
Will God hear his cry of distress when distress comes upon him?
¿Oirá Dios su clamor cuando la tribulación sobre él viniere?

Or, in Shaddai will he find delight? Will he call upon God at all times?

“I will teach you about God’s hand; I will not conceal that which is with Shaddai.
Yo os enseñaré en orden á la mano de Dios: no esconderé lo que hay para con el Omnipotente.
I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
I will teach you about the hand of God. I will not conceal that which is with the Almighty.
Look, you all have seen, and ⌞why in the world⌟ ⌞have you become altogether vain⌟?
He aquí que todos vosotros lo habéis visto: ¿por qué pues os desvanecéis con fantasía?

“This is the portion of the wicked human being with God, and they receive from Shaddai the inheritance of the ruthless.
Esta es para con Dios la suerte del hombre impío, y la herencia que los violentos han de recibir del Omnipotente.
This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.

If their children multiply, it is for the sword, and his offspring ⌞do not have enough to eat⌟.
Si sus hijos fueren multiplicados, serán para el cuchillo; y sus pequeños no se hartarán de pan;

Their survivors are buried through the plague, and their widows do not weep.

If he heaps up silver like the dust and fashions clothing like the clay,

he makes it ready, and the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide the silver.
Habrála él preparado, mas el justo se vestirá, y el inocente repartirá la plata.

“He builds his house like the moth, and like a booth that a watchman has made.

Terrors overtake him like the water; a storm wind carries him off in the night.
Asirán de él terrores como aguas: torbellino lo arrebatará de noche.
Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.

The east wind lifts him up, and he is gone, and it sweeps him away from his place.
Lo antecogerá el solano, y partirá; y tempestad lo arrebatará del lugar suyo.

And it hurls at him, and it has no compassion; he will quickly flee from its power.
