Y REASUMIÓ Job su discurso, y dijo:
Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,
Job again took up his parable, and said,
«Por el Dios viviente que me ha despojado de mis derechos; por el Dios Todopoderoso que ha amargado mi alma,
Vive Dios, el cual ha apartado mi causa, y el Omnipotente, que amargó el alma mía,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
“As God lives, who has taken away my right, the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter
afirmo que mientras viva, mientras haya en mí aliento de Dios,
Que todo el tiempo que mi alma estuviere en mí, y hubiere hálito de Dios en mis narices,
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
(for the length of my life is still in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils);
no dirán mis labios ningún mal; no habrá mentira en mi lengua.
Mis labios no hablarán iniquidad, ni mi lengua pronunciará engaño.
My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
surely my lips will not speak unrighteousness, neither will my tongue utter deceit.
Nunca jamás les daré la razón; hasta que muera, afirmaré mi inocencia.
Nunca tal acontezca que yo os justifique: hasta morir no quitaré de mí mi integridad.
God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
Far be it from me that I should justify you. Until I die I will not put away my integrity from me.
No soy un pecador; lo repito una y otra vez. Mi conciencia estará limpia mientras viva.
Mi justicia tengo asida, y no la cederé: no me reprochará mi corazón en el tiempo de mi vida.
My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
I hold fast to my righteousness, and will not let it go. My heart will not reproach me so long as I live.
»Quienes afirman lo contrario son perversos enemigos míos. Son hombres malvados.
Sea como el impío mi enemigo, y como el inicuo mi adversario.
Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.
“Let my enemy be as the wicked. Let him who rises up against me be as the unrighteous.
Pero, ¿qué esperanza habrá para el impío cuando Dios le corte la existencia, le quite la vida?
Porque ¿cuál es la esperanza del hipócrita, por mucho que hubiere robado, cuando Dios arrebatare su alma?
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
For what is the hope of the godless, when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
¿Escuchará Dios su clamor cuando la tribulación lo asalte?
¿Oirá Dios su clamor cuando la tribulación sobre él viniere?
Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him?
Porque él se goza en el Todopoderoso o se acuerda de Dios sólo en tiempos de crisis.
¿Deleitaráse en el Omnipotente? ¿invocará á Dios en todo tiempo?
Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
Will he delight himself in the Almighty, and call on God at all times?
»Les enseñaré acerca de Dios;
Yo os enseñaré en orden á la mano de Dios: no esconderé lo que hay para con el Omnipotente.
I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
I will teach you about the hand of God. I will not conceal that which is with the Almighty.
pero en realidad no es necesario, puesto que ustedes saben de él tanto como yo. Y sin embargo, vienen diciéndome tantas palabras inútiles».
He aquí que todos vosotros lo habéis visto: ¿por qué pues os desvanecéis con fantasía?
Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?
Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves; why then have you become altogether vain?
«Este es el destino que aguarda a los malvados, y que procede de la mano del Todopoderoso:
Esta es para con Dios la suerte del hombre impío, y la herencia que los violentos han de recibir del Omnipotente.
This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
“This is the portion of a wicked man with God, the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty.
Si tienen multitud de hijos, es para que mueran en la guerra o perezcan de hambre.
Si sus hijos fueren multiplicados, serán para el cuchillo; y sus pequeños no se hartarán de pan;
If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword. His offspring will not be satisfied with bread.
Los que sobrevivan irán a la tumba por enfermedad o plaga, y no habrá quien los llore, ni siquiera sus esposas.
Los que le quedaren, en muerte serán sepultados; y no llorarán sus viudas.
Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
Those who remain of him will be buried in death. His widows will make no lamentation.
El malvado puede acumular dinero como polvo, y tener armarios llenos de vestidos;
Si amontonare plata como polvo, y si preparare ropa como lodo;
Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;
Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare clothing as the clay;
sí, puede mandar que el sastre se los confeccione, pero serán los inocentes quienes los usen y quienes se repartan su oro.
Habrála él preparado, mas el justo se vestirá, y el inocente repartirá la plata.
He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
he may prepare it, but the just will put it on, and the innocent will divide the silver.
Toda casa construida por los malvados es frágil como tela de araña, tan agrietada como choza de paja.
Edificó su casa como la polilla, y cual cabaña que el guarda hizo.
He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh.
He builds his house as the moth, as a booth which the watchman makes.
Era rico al acostarse, pero al despertar descubre que toda su riqueza ha desaparecido.
El rico dormirá, mas no será recogido: abrirá sus ojos, mas él no será.
The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
He lies down rich, but he will not do so again. He opens his eyes, and he is not.
El terror lo abruma y lo arrastran las tormentas de la noche.
Asirán de él terrores como aguas: torbellino lo arrebatará de noche.
Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
Terrors overtake him like waters. A storm steals him away in the night.
El viento del este se lo lleva y lo hace desaparecer. Lo arrastra a la eternidad.
Lo antecogerá el solano, y partirá; y tempestad lo arrebatará del lugar suyo.
The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.
The east wind carries him away, and he departs. It sweeps him out of his place.
Porque Dios lo acosará sin misericordia. Él ansía escapar de Dios.
Dios pues descargará sobre él, y no perdonará: hará él por huir de su mano.
For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
For it hurls at him, and does not spare, as he flees away from his hand.
Todos gritarán de júbilo cuando muera, y con burlas lo despedirán hacia la eternidad».
Batirán sus manos sobre él, y desde su lugar le silbarán.
Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
Men will clap their hands at him, and will hiss him out of his place.
