Vive Dios, el cual parece que ha abandonado mi causa, y el Todopoderoso que ha sumergido mi alma en la aflicción,
Vive Dios, el cual ha apartado mi causa, y el Omnipotente, que amargó el alma mía,
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
“As God lives, who has taken away my right, the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter
que mientras haya aliento en mí, y me conserve Dios la respiración,
Que todo el tiempo que mi alma estuviere en mí, y hubiere hálito de Dios en mis narices,
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
(for the length of my life is still in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils);
no han de pronunciar mis labios cosa injusta, ni saldrá de mi boca mentira.
Mis labios no hablarán iniquidad, ni mi lengua pronunciará engaño.
My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
surely my lips will not speak unrighteousness, neither will my tongue utter deceit.
Lejos de mí teneros por justos; hasta que fallezca no desistiré de defender mi inocencia.
Nunca tal acontezca que yo os justifique: hasta morir no quitaré de mí mi integridad.
God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
Far be it from me that I should justify you. Until I die I will not put away my integrity from me.
No abandonaré la justificación que he comenzado a hacer de mi conducta; puesto que nada me remuerde mi conciencia en todo el discurso de mi vida.
Mi justicia tengo asida, y no la cederé: no me reprochará mi corazón en el tiempo de mi vida.
My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

Sea tenido por un impío mi enemigo, y por un injusto mi adversario.
Sea como el impío mi enemigo, y como el inicuo mi adversario.
Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.
“Let my enemy be as the wicked. Let him who rises up against me be as the unrighteous.
Porque, ¿qué esperanza queda al hipócrita después de sus avarientas rapiñas, si Dios no salva su alma?
Porque ¿cuál es la esperanza del hipócrita, por mucho que hubiere robado, cuando Dios arrebatare su alma?
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
For what is the hope of the godless, when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
¿Es acaso que Dios ha de escuchar sus clamores, cuando le sobrevenga la tribulación?
¿Oirá Dios su clamor cuando la tribulación sobre él viniere?
Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him?
¿O podrá hallar consuelo en el Todopoderoso, e invocar a Dios en todo tiempo? No, por cierto.
¿Deleitaráse en el Omnipotente? ¿invocará á Dios en todo tiempo?
Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
Will he delight himself in the Almighty, and call on God at all times?
Yo con el favor de Dios os enseñaré las disposiciones del Omnipotente; no os ocultaré nada.
Yo os enseñaré en orden á la mano de Dios: no esconderé lo que hay para con el Omnipotente.
I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
I will teach you about the hand of God. I will not conceal that which is with the Almighty.
Bien veo que todos vosotros las sabéis; mas, ¿por qué gastáis el tiempo inútilmente en vanos discursos?
He aquí que todos vosotros lo habéis visto: ¿por qué pues os desvanecéis con fantasía?
Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?
Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves; why then have you become altogether vain?
Oíd cuál será la suerte que Dios destina al impío, y la herencia que los hombres violentos recibirán del Todopoderoso.
Esta es para con Dios la suerte del hombre impío, y la herencia que los violentos han de recibir del Omnipotente.
This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
“This is the portion of a wicked man with God, the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty.
Si se multiplicaren los hijos, caerán al filo de la espada, y sus nietos nunca se verán hartos de pan.
Si sus hijos fueren multiplicados, serán para el cuchillo; y sus pequeños no se hartarán de pan;
If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword. His offspring will not be satisfied with bread.
Los que quedaren de su linaje serán sepultados luego de muertos, y no harán duelo las viudas.
Los que le quedaren, en muerte serán sepultados; y no llorarán sus viudas.
Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
Those who remain of him will be buried in death. His widows will make no lamentation.
Aunque haya amontonado plata como la tierra, y preparado vestidos tan fácilmente como se hace el barro,
Si amontonare plata como polvo, y si preparare ropa como lodo;
Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;
Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare clothing as the clay;
él en efecto los tendrá de prevención, mas el que se vestirá de ellos será el justo, y el inocente disfrutará y distribuirá la plata.
Habrála él preparado, mas el justo se vestirá, y el inocente repartirá la plata.

Muriendo el rico nada llevará consigo; abrirá los ojos de su alma, y se hallará sin nada.
El rico dormirá, mas no será recogido: abrirá sus ojos, mas él no será.
The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
He lies down rich, but he will not do so again. He opens his eyes, and he is not.
Le sorprenderá alguna avenida de miserias; quedará oprimido por la tempestad nocturna.
Asirán de él terrores como aguas: torbellino lo arrebatará de noche.
Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
Terrors overtake him like waters. A storm steals him away in the night.
Un viento abrasador lo arrebatará y arrancará de cuajo; y a manera de huracán lo llevará lejos de su sitio.
Lo antecogerá el solano, y partirá; y tempestad lo arrebatará del lugar suyo.
The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.

Y Dios descargará su ira sobre él, y no le perdonará; tentará mil remedios para escaparse de sus manos.

For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.

Quien se pusiera a mirar el sitio en que el impío estaba, dará palmadas sobre su suerte, y le silbará.
