CIERTAMENTE la plata tiene sus veneros, y el oro lugar donde se forma.

porque se encuentran en lo profundo de las minas. Ningún animal salvaje ha pisado jamás estos tesoros; ningún león les ha puesto la zarpa encima.

Pero aunque los hombres pueden hacer todo esto, no saben dónde hallar la sabiduría y el entendimiento.
Empero ¿dónde se hallará la sabiduría? ¿y dónde está el lugar de la prudencia?
But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?

No sólo ignoran cómo obtenerla, sino que, en efecto, ella no puede hallarse entre los vivientes.
No conoce su valor el hombre, ni se halla en la tierra de los vivientes.
Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

«Aquí no está», dicen los océanos; y los mares responden: «Ni aquí tampoco».

Porque está oculta a los ojos de la humanidad; ni las aves de aguda mirada que vuelan en el cielo pueden descubrirla.

El hace soplar los vientos y pone límite a los océanos.

Él establece las leyes de la lluvia y el sendero del relámpago.

Él sabe dónde se encuentra la sabiduría y lo declara a cuantos quieran escuchar. Él la estableció y la examinó plenamente.
