Job 2

Y aconteció otra vez en que los hijos de Dios se reunieron ante el Señor, y Satanás vino con ellos.

Y OTRO día aconteció que vinieron los hijos de Dios para presentarse delante de Jehová, y Satán vino también entre ellos pareciendo delante de Jehová.

Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

Again, on the day when God’s sons came to present themselves before the LORD, Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

Y él Señor dijo a Satanás: ¿De dónde vienes? Y Satanás respondió en respuesta: De recorrer la tierra de un lado a otro.

Y dijo Jehová á Satán: ¿De dónde vienes? Respondió Satán á Jehová, y dijo: De rodear la tierra, y de andar por ella.

And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the LORD, and said, “From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”

Y el Señor dijo a Satanás: ¿Has tomado nota de mi siervo Job, porque no hay nadie como él en la tierra, un hombre sin pecado y recto, temiendo a Dios y manteniéndose alejado del mal? y aún mantiene su justicia, aunque tu me persuadiste para destruirlo sin causa.

Y Jehová dijo á Satán: ¿No has considerado á mi siervo Job, que no hay otro como él en la tierra, varón perfecto y recto, temeroso de Dios y apartado de mal, y que aun retiene su perfección, habiéndome tú incitado contra él, para que lo arruinara sin causa?

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

The LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? For there is no one like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil. He still maintains his integrity, although you incited me against him, to ruin him without cause.”

Y Satanás respondió en respuesta al Señor: Piel por piel, todo lo que un hombre tiene lo dará por su vida.

Y respondiendo Satán dijo á Jehová: Piel por piel, todo lo que el hombre tiene dará por su vida.

And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

Satan answered the LORD, and said, “Skin for skin. Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.

Pero ahora, si solo pones tu mano sobre su hueso y su carne, ciertamente te estará maldiciendo.

Mas extiende ahora tu mano, y toca á su hueso y á su carne, y verás si no te blasfema en tu rostro.

But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.

But stretch out your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce you to your face.”

Y él Señor dijo a Satanás: Mira, él está en tus manos, pero no le quites la vida.

Y Jehová dijo á Satán: He aquí, él está en tu mano; mas guarda su vida.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.

The LORD said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand. Only spare his life.”

Y Satanás salió de delante del Señor, y envió a Job un sarpullido que cubría su piel desde sus pies hasta la parte superior de su cabeza.

Y salió Satán de delante de Jehová, é hirió á Job de una maligna sarna desde la planta de su pie hasta la mollera de su cabeza.

So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with painful sores from the sole of his foot to his head.

Y tomó un pedazo de una olla rota y, sentado en el polvo, se rascaba con el filo de la misma.

Y tomaba una teja para rascarse con ella, y estaba sentado en medio de ceniza.

And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.

He took for himself a potsherd to scrape himself with, and he sat among the ashes.

Y su mujer le dijo: ¿Sigues obstinado en ser íntegro? Di una maldición contra Dios y muere.

Díjole entonces su mujer: ¿Aun retienes tú tu simplicidad? Bendice á Dios, y muérete.

Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still maintain your integrity? Renounce God, and die.”

Y él le dijo: Hablas como una de las mujeres necias sin sentido. Si tomamos el bien que Dios nos envía, ¿no debemos tomar el mal cuando viene? En todo esto Job mantuvo sus labios del pecado.

Y él le dijo: Como suele hablar cualquiera de las mujeres fatuas, has hablado. También recibimos el bien de Dios, ¿y el mal no recibiremos? En todo esto no pecó Job con sus labios.

But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job didn’t sin with his lips.

Y los tres amigos de Job tuvieron noticia de todo este mal que había venido sobre él. Y vinieron cada uno de su lugar, Elifaz de Teman, y Bildad el Sua, y Zofar de Naamat. Así que fueron a verlo, para poder acompañar a Job en su dolor, y darle consuelo.

Y tres amigos de Job, Eliphaz Temanita, y Bildad Suhita, y Sophar Naamathita, luego que oyeron todo este mal que le había sobrevenido, vinieron cada uno de su lugar; porque habían concertado de venir juntos á condolecerse de él, y á consolarle.

Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.

Y alzando sus ojos cuando todavía estaban lejos, no parecía que el hombre que vieron fuera a Job debido al cambio en él. Y dieron paso al llanto amargo, con signos de dolor, y se pusieron polvo en la cabeza.

Los cuales alzando los ojos desde lejos, no lo conocieron, y lloraron á voz en grito; y cada uno de ellos rasgó su manto, y esparcieron polvo sobre sus cabezas hacia el cielo.

And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

When they lifted up their eyes from a distance, and didn’t recognize him, they raised their voices, and wept; and they each tore his robe, and sprinkled dust on their heads toward the sky.

Y tomaron sus asientos en la tierra a su lado durante siete días y siete noches, pero nadie le dijo una sola palabra, porque vieron que su dolor era muy grande.

Así se sentaron con él en tierra por siete días y siete noches, y ninguno le hablaba palabra, porque veían que el dolor era muy grande.

So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.
