Por causa da pobreza e da fome andavam sós; roem na terra seca, no lugar desolado e deserto em trevas.

Por causa de la pobreza y del hambre andaban solos; huían á la soledad, á lugar tenebroso, asolado y desierto.

For want and famine they were solitary; fleeing into the wilderness in former time desolate and waste.

They are gaunt from lack and famine. They gnaw the dry ground, in the gloom of waste and desolation.
