Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

También se enojó contra sus tres amigos, porque no habían hallado qué responder, aunque habían condenado a Job.

Entonces Eliú hijo de Baraquel, el buzita, tomó la palabra y dijo: “Yo soy joven, y ustedes son ya viejos; por eso me dio pena y no me atreví a decirles lo que pienso.
Y respondió Eliú hijo de Barachêl, Bucita, y dijo: Yo soy menor de días, y vosotros viejos; he tenido por tanto miedo, y temido declararos mi opinión.
And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

No siempre los que tienen autoridad son sabios, ni los viejos son los únicos que entienden la justicia.
No los grandes son los sabios, ni los viejos entienden el derecho.
Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.
It is not the great who are wise, nor the aged who understand justice.
Por eso les pido: ‘Escúchenme; yo también les voy a decir lo que pienso’.
Por tanto yo dije: Escuchadme; declararé yo también mi sabiduría.
Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.
Therefore I said, ‘Listen to me; I also will show my opinion.’
“Miren, yo he esperado a que ustedes hablaran, escuché sus argumentos mientras buscaban las palabras adecuadas.
He aquí yo he esperado á vuestras razones, he escuchado vuestros argumentos, en tanto que buscabais palabras.
Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.
“Behold, I waited for your words, and I listened for your reasoning, while you searched out what to say.
Les he prestado mucha atención, pero ninguno de ustedes ha podido convencer a Job, ni han sabido responder a sus razones.
Os he pues prestado atención, y he aquí que no hay de vosotros quien redarguya á Job, y responda á sus razones.
Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:
Yes, I gave you my full attention, but there was no one who convinced Job, or who answered his words, among you.
No vengan ahora con que: ‘Hemos hallado la sabiduría; que solo Dios lo puede vencer, no un hombre’.
Porque no digáis: Nosotros hemos hallado sabiduría: lanzólo Dios, no el hombre.
Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
Beware lest you say, ‘We have found wisdom. God may refute him, not man;’
Job no dirigió sus palabras contra mí, así que no voy a responderle con los mismos argumentos de ustedes.
Ahora bien, Job no enderezó á mí sus palabras, ni yo le responderé con vuestras razones.
Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
for he has not directed his words against me; neither will I answer him with your speeches.
“Aquí están ellos, pasmados, sin respuesta; se han quedado sin palabras.
Espantáronse, no respondieron más: fuéronseles los razonamientos.
They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.
“They are amazed. They answer no more. They don’t have a word to say.
¿Y voy a seguir esperando ahora que se callan, ahora que se quedan ahí parados sin decir nada?
Yo pues he esperado, porque no hablaban, antes pararon, y no respondieron más.
When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)
Shall I wait, because they don’t speak, because they stand still, and answer no more?
¡Claro que no! Yo también voy a dar mi parte; voy a decir lo que pienso.
Por eso yo también responderé mi parte, también yo declararé mi juicio.
I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

Porque tengo tanto que decir que el espíritu dentro de mí me obliga a hablar.
Porque lleno estoy de palabras, y el espíritu de mi vientre me constriñe.
For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

Me siento como vino encerrado que no tiene salida; ¡como cueros de vino nuevos que están por reventar!
De cierto mi vientre está como el vino que no tiene respiradero, y se rompe como odres nuevos.
Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

Tengo que hablar para desahogarme; voy a abrir mis labios para responder.

Let me not, I pray you, accept any man’s person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.
Please don’t let me respect any man’s person, neither will I give flattering titles to any man.
Porque yo no sé andar con halagos; si lo hiciera, mi Creador me eliminaría pronto.
Porque no sé hablar lisonjas: de otra manera en breve mi Hacedor me consuma.
For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
