Pero también estaba enojado contra los tres amigos de Job, porque habiéndose mostrado incapaces de contestar a los argumentos de Job, sin embargo lo condenaban.

»Así, pues, escúchenme un momento; permítanme expresar mi opinión.
Por tanto yo dije: Escuchadme; declararé yo también mi sabiduría.
Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.

He esperado todo este tiempo y he escuchado atentamente los argumentos de ustedes, pero ninguno de ellos ha convencido a Job de que es pecador, ni ha demostrado que lo sea.
He aquí yo he esperado á vuestras razones, he escuchado vuestros argumentos, en tanto que buscabais palabras.
Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.
“Behold, I waited for your words, and I listened for your reasoning, while you searched out what to say.

Os he pues prestado atención, y he aquí que no hay de vosotros quien redarguya á Job, y responda á sus razones.
Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:
Yes, I gave you my full attention, but there was no one who convinced Job, or who answered his words, among you.
Y no me vengan con aquello de que “sólo Dios puede convencer de su pecado al pecador”.
Porque no digáis: Nosotros hemos hallado sabiduría: lanzólo Dios, no el hombre.
Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
Beware lest you say, ‘We have found wisdom. God may refute him, not man;’
Si Job hubiera estado discutiendo conmigo, ¡yo no le habría respondido con esa clase de lógica!
Ahora bien, Job no enderezó á mí sus palabras, ni yo le responderé con vuestras razones.
Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
for he has not directed his words against me; neither will I answer him with your speeches.
»Allí están contrariados; sin más argumentos.
Espantáronse, no respondieron más: fuéronseles los razonamientos.
They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.
“They are amazed. They answer no more. They don’t have a word to say.
¿Tengo que continuar esperando mientras ustedes permanecen silenciosos?
Yo pues he esperado, porque no hablaban, antes pararon, y no respondieron más.
When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)
Shall I wait, because they don’t speak, because they stand still, and answer no more?
No; yo también daré mi respuesta.
Por eso yo también responderé mi parte, también yo declararé mi juicio.
I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

Porque me siento ansioso y lleno de palabras: mi espíritu me impulsa.

Estoy como un odre lleno de vino y sin salida. ¡Mis palabras están a punto de estallar!

Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

Tengo que hablar para desahogarme; déjenme, pues, que dé mis respuestas.

Let me not, I pray you, accept any man’s person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.
Please don’t let me respect any man’s person, neither will I give flattering titles to any man.

Porque no sé hablar lisonjas: de otra manera en breve mi Hacedor me consuma.
For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
