Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

Se indignó también contra sus tres amigos, porque no habían discurrido refutación razonable, contentándose solamente de haber condenado a Job.
Enojóse asimismo con furor contra sus tres amigos, porque no hallaban qué responder, aunque habían condenado á Job.

Y así, tomando la palabra Eliú, hijo de Baraquel, buzita, dijo: Yo soy el más mozo; todos vosotros sois de mayor edad que yo; por este motivo he bajado mi cabeza, sin atreverme a proponer mi dictamen.
Y respondió Eliú hijo de Barachêl, Bucita, y dijo: Yo soy menor de días, y vosotros viejos; he tenido por tanto miedo, y temido declararos mi opinión.
And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.

Porque yo esperaba que la edad más madura hubiera hablado sólidamente, y que los muchos años enseñarían sabiduría.

Por tanto yo voy a hablar; escuchadme, que también os mostraré lo que yo alcanzo.

Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.

Puesto que he dado lugar a vuestros discursos y he escuchado atento vuestras razones, mientras ha durado la disputa;
He aquí yo he esperado á vuestras razones, he escuchado vuestros argumentos, en tanto que buscabais palabras.
Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.
“Behold, I waited for your words, and I listened for your reasoning, while you searched out what to say.
y en tanto que creí que podríais decir algo, estaba atento. Mas a lo que veo, no hay entre vosotros quien pueda convencer a Job, ni responder a sus razones.
Os he pues prestado atención, y he aquí que no hay de vosotros quien redarguya á Job, y responda á sus razones.
Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:
Yes, I gave you my full attention, but there was no one who convinced Job, or who answered his words, among you.
Y no tenéis que replicarme, diciendo: Nosotros hemos hallado la razón de sabiduría para convencerle; y es que Dios es quien lo ha desechado, no algún hombre.
Porque no digáis: Nosotros hemos hallado sabiduría: lanzólo Dios, no el hombre.
Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
Beware lest you say, ‘We have found wisdom. God may refute him, not man;’
Ninguna palabra me ha dicho él a mí; pero yo no pienso responderle al tenor de vuestros discursos.
Ahora bien, Job no enderezó á mí sus palabras, ni yo le responderé con vuestras razones.
Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
for he has not directed his words against me; neither will I answer him with your speeches.
He aquí tres hombres que se han acobardado, y no saben ya qué replicar, y han quedado como mudos.
Espantáronse, no respondieron más: fuéronseles los razonamientos.
They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.

Supuesto, pues, que yo he estado esperando a que hablasen, y no lo han hecho, y que se han parado y no añaden nada más,

entraré yo también a hablar por mi parte y mostraré mi saber;
Por eso yo también responderé mi parte, también yo declararé mi juicio.
I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

pues estoy lleno de palabras, y no caben ya en mi pecho;
Porque lleno estoy de palabras, y el espíritu de mi vientre me constriñe.
For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.

al modo que el vino, cuando no tiene por dónde respirar, rompe aún las vasijas nuevas, así sucede en mi seno.
De cierto mi vientre está como el vino que no tiene respiradero, y se rompe como odres nuevos.
Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

Hablaré, pues, a fin de respirar algún tanto; abriré mis labios, y responderé.

porque no sé yo cuánto tiempo existiré aún, ni si dentro de poco me llevará mi Creador.
Porque no sé hablar lisonjas: de otra manera en breve mi Hacedor me consuma.
For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
