1Y ahora, oh Job, escucha mis palabras y toma nota de todo lo que digo.
2Mira, ahora mi boca está abierta, mi lengua da palabras.
3Mi corazón está lleno de conocimiento, mis labios dicen lo que es verdad.
4El espíritu de Dios me ha hecho, y el soplo del Todopoderoso me da vida.
5Si puedes, dame una respuesta; pon tu causa en orden y avanza.
6Mira, soy lo mismo que tú ante los ojos de Dios; Me formó del barro también.
7No te espantes de mi terror, y mi mano no te será dura.
8Pero dijiste en mi oído, y tu voz llegó a mis oídos:
9Estoy limpio, sin pecado; Estoy lavado, y no hay mal en mí.
10Mira, él está buscando algo contra mí; en sus ojos soy como uno de sus enemigos;
11Él ha puesto cadenas en mis pies; Él está observando todos mis caminos.
12En verdad, al decir esto estás equivocado; porque Dios es más grande que el hombre.
13¿Por qué presentas tu causa contra él, diciendo: Él no responde a ninguna de mis palabras?
14Porque Dios da su palabra de una manera, incluso en dos, y el hombre no es consciente de ello.
15En un sueño, en una visión de la noche, cuando el sueño profundo llega a los hombres, mientras descansan en sus camas;
16Entonces él deja sus secretos claros para los hombres, para que estén llenos de temor ante lo que ven;
17Para que el hombre pueda ser apartado de sus obras malvadas, y para que el orgullo le sea quitado;
18Para alejar su alma del sepulcro, y su vida de la destrucción.
19El dolor es enviado sobre él como un castigo, mientras él está en su cama; No hay fin para el problema en sus huesos;
20No desea comer, y su alma se ha apartado de su comida favorita;
21Su carne está tan gastada, que puede no ser vista, y sus huesos que no se veían, aparecen.
22Y su alma se acerca al inframundo, y su vida a la muerte.
23Si ahora puede haber un ángel enviado a él, uno de los miles que habrá entre él y Dios, y aclarar al hombre lo que es correcto para él;
24Y si él tiene misericordia de él, y dice: “Que no descienda al sepulcro, le he dado redención.
25Entonces su carne se vuelve joven, y regresa a los días de su Juventud;
26Él hace su oración a Dios, y tiene misericordia de él; ve el rostro de Dios con gritos de alegría; da noticias de su justicia a los hombres;
27Él hace una canción, diciendo: “Me equivoqué, volviéndome del camino recto, pero no me dio la recompensa de mi pecado”.
28Guardó mi alma del sepulcro, y mi vida ve la luz en su totalidad.
29En verdad, Dios hace todas estas cosas al hombre, dos veces y tres veces,
30Retirando su alma del inframundo para que pueda ver la luz de la vida.
31Toma nota, Oh Job, escúchame; guarda silencio, mientras digo lo que tengo en mente.
32Si tienes algo que decir, dame una respuesta; porque es mi deseo que seas juzgado libre del pecado.
33Si no, ponme atención y guarda silencio, y yo te daré sabiduría.

1POR tanto, Job, oye ahora mis razones, y escucha todas mis palabras.
2He aquí yo abriré ahora mi boca, y mi lengua hablará en mi garganta.
3Mis razones declararán la rectitud de mi corazón, y mis labios proferirán pura sabiduría.
4El espíritu de Dios me hizo, y la inspiración del Omnipotente me dió vida.
5Si pudieres, respóndeme; dispón tus palabras, está delante de mí.
6Heme aquí á mí en lugar de Dios, conforme á tu dicho: de lodo soy yo también formado.
7He aquí que mi terror no te espantará, ni mi mano se agravará sobre ti.
8De cierto tú dijiste á oídos míos, y yo oí la voz de tus palabras que decían:
9Yo soy limpio y sin defecto; y soy inocente, y no hay maldad en mí.
10He aquí que él buscó achaques contra mí, y me tiene por su enemigo;
11Puso mis pies en el cepo, y guardó todas mis sendas.
12He aquí en esto no has hablado justamente: yo te responderé que mayor es Dios que el hombre.
13¿Por qué tomaste pleito contra él? Porque él no da cuenta de ninguna de sus razones.
14Sin embargo, en una ó en dos maneras habla Dios; mas el hombre no entiende.
15Por sueño de visión nocturna, cuando el sueño cae sobre los hombres, cuando se adormecen sobre el lecho;
16Entonces revela al oído de los hombres, y les señala su consejo;
17Para quitar al hombre de su obra, y apartar del varón la soberbia.
18Detendrá su alma de corrupción, y su vida de que pase á cuchillo.
19También sobre su cama es castigado con dolor fuerte en todos sus huesos,
20Que le hace que su vida aborrezca el pan, y su alma la comida suave.
21Su carne desfallece sin verse, y sus huesos, que antes no se veían, aparecen.
22Y su alma se acerca al sepulcro, y su vida á los que causan la muerte.
23Si tuviera cerca de él algún elocuente anunciador muy escogido, que anuncie al hombre su deber;
24Que le diga que Dios tuvo de él misericordia, que lo libró de descender al sepulcro, que halló redención:
25Enterneceráse su carne más que de niño, volverá á los días de su mocedad.
26Orará á Dios, y le amará, y verá su faz con júbilo: y él restituirá al hombre su justicia.
27El mira sobre los hombres; y el que dijere: Pequé, y pervertí lo recto, y no me ha aprovechado;
28Dios redimirá su alma, que no pase al sepulcro, y su vida se verá en luz.
29He aquí, todas estas cosas hace Dios dos y tres veces con el hombre;
30Para apartar su alma del sepulcro, y para iluminarlo con la luz de los vivientes.
31Escucha, Job, y óyeme; calla, y yo hablaré.
32Que si tuvieres razones, respóndeme: habla, porque yo te quiero justificar.
33Y si no, óyeme tú á mí; calla, y enseñarte he sabiduría.

1Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
2Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
3My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
4The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
5If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
6Behold, I am according to thy wish in God’s stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
7Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
8Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
9I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
10Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
11He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
12Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
13Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
14For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
15In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
16Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
17That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
18He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
19He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
20So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
21His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.
22Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
23If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
24Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
25His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:
26He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
27He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
28He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
29Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
30To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
31Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
32If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
33If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.

1“However, Job, please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.
2See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.
3My words will utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they will speak sincerely.
4The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
5If you can, answer me. Set your words in order before me, and stand up.
6Behold, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.
7Behold, my terror will not make you afraid, neither will my pressure be heavy on you.
8“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
9‘I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.
10Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.
11He puts my feet in the stocks. He marks all my paths.’
12“Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.
13Why do you strive against him, because he doesn’t give account of any of his matters?

30to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
31Mark well, Job, and listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will speak.
32If you have anything to say, answer me. Speak, for I desire to justify you.
33If not, listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.”
