POR tanto, Job, oye ahora mis razones, y escucha todas mis palabras.
Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
“However, Job, please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.
Tu vois j'ouvre la bouche et ma langue se meut.
He aquí yo abriré ahora mi boca, y mi lengua hablará en mi garganta.
Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.
La pureté de mon cœur se manifestera en mes discours ; mes lèvres ne laisseront passer que des sentences irréprochables.
Mis razones declararán la rectitud de mi corazón, y mis labios proferirán pura sabiduría.
My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
My words will utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they will speak sincerely.
L'esprit divin m'anime ; le souffle du Tout-Puissant m'a instruit.
El espíritu de Dios me hizo, y la inspiración del Omnipotente me dió vida.
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

Tu me répondras, si tu le peux ; attends et tenons-nous face à face.
Si pudieres, respóndeme; dispón tus palabras, está delante de mí.
If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.

Je suis comme toi formé de boue ; nous provenons du même Créateur.
Heme aquí á mí en lugar de Dios, conforme á tu dicho: de lodo soy yo también formado.
Behold, I am according to thy wish in God’s stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
Behold, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.
Je ne veux ni me faire craindre, ni te troubler ; ma main ne te sera pas pesante.
He aquí que mi terror no te espantará, ni mi mano se agravará sobre ti.
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
Behold, my terror will not make you afraid, neither will my pressure be heavy on you.
Je n'ai rien perdu de ta défense, mes oreilles l'ont recueillie tout entière ; tu as dit :
De cierto tú dijiste á oídos míos, y yo oí la voz de tus palabras que decían:
Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
Je suis pur, je ne pèche point ; je suis irréprochable, car j'observe les lois.
Yo soy limpio y sin defecto; y soy inocente, y no hay maldad en mí.
I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
‘I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.
Dieu a trouvé sujet de m'accuser ; il m'a jugé comme un ennemi.
He aquí que él buscó achaques contra mí, y me tiene por su enemigo;
Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.
Il a mis mon pied dans une entrave ; il a posé des sentinelles sur toutes mes voies.
Puso mis pies en el cepo, y guardó todas mis sendas.
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

Comment as-tu osé dire : Je suis juste et Dieu ne m'a pas exaucé ? L'Eternel n'est-il pas au-dessus de tous les humains ?
He aquí en esto no has hablado justamente: yo te responderé que mayor es Dios que el hombre.
Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
“Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.
Tu as dit : Pourquoi Dieu n'a-t-il pas écouté un seul mot de ma cause ?
¿Por qué tomaste pleito contra él? Porque él no da cuenta de ninguna de sus razones.
Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.

Ce que le Seigneur a dit une fois, il le répète encore.
Sin embargo, en una ó en dos maneras habla Dios; mas el hombre no entiende.
For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.
En nos songes ou dans nos méditations nocturnes, à l'heure où les hommes assoupis sur leur couche ressentent une terreur surnaturelle,
Por sueño de visión nocturna, cuando el sueño cae sobre los hombres, cuando se adormecen sobre el lecho;
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

Il découvre leurs pensées ; il donne une forme à leurs craintes secrètes ; il les épouvante ;
Entonces revela al oído de los hombres, y les señala su consejo;

Il les détourne de l'iniquité ; il préserve leur corps de la chute.
Para quitar al hombre de su obra, y apartar del varón la soberbia.

A de tels humains, il a déjà sauvé la vie ; il l'a empêché de succomber dans les batailles.

Pour le blâmer derechef, il l'étend malade sur son lit ; il engourdit tous ses os.
También sobre su cama es castigado con dolor fuerte en todos sus huesos,
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
“He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones,
Et l'homme ne peut goûter d'aucun aliment ; et son âme en désirera,
Que le hace que su vida aborrezca el pan, y su alma la comida suave.
So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.

Jusqu'à ce que ses chairs pourrissent et que ses os vides de mœlle se montrent à nu.
Su carne desfallece sin verse, y sus huesos, que antes no se veían, aparecen.

Son âme s'est approchée de la mort et sa vie de l'enfer.
Y su alma se acerca al sepulcro, y su vida á los que causan la muerte.

Mais, y eût-il là mille anges exterminateurs, pas un seul ne le blessera, si son cœur songe à se convertir à Dieu : le Seigneur lui fera connaître ce qu'il lui reproche ; il lui montrera sa folie ;
Si tuviera cerca de él algún elocuente anunciador muy escogido, que anuncie al hombre su deber;
If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
“If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him,
Il empêchera la mort de le saisir ; il renouvellera son corps comme l'enduit d'un mur ; il remplira ses os de mœlle ;
Que le diga que Dios tuvo de él misericordia, que lo libró de descender al sepulcro, que halló redención:
Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
then God is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’
Il lui rendra des chairs délicates comme celles d'un enfant ; il lui rendra sa virilité parmi les hommes.
Enterneceráse su carne más que de niño, volverá á los días de su mocedad.
His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:

Ses prières au Seigneur seront exaucées ; il verra le front serein, les manifestations de Dieu ; il rendra justice à ses semblables.
Orará á Dios, y le amará, y verá su faz con júbilo: y él restituirá al hombre su justicia.
He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness.
Alors il se fera des reproches en lui-même, disant : Qu'ai-je fait ? Je n'ai point été puni comme le méritaient mes péchés.
El mira sobre los hombres; y el que dijere: Pequé, y pervertí lo recto, y no me ha aprovechado;
He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
He sings before men, and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me.
Mon Dieu, préservez mon âme d'entrer dans la perdition, et ma vie verra la lumière.
Dios redimirá su alma, que no pase al sepulcro, y su vida se verá en luz.
He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life will see the light.’
Voilà donc ce que, de trois manières, le Tout-Puissant fait pour chacun des mortels.
He aquí, todas estas cosas hace Dios dos y tres veces con el hombre;
Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
“Behold, God does all these things, twice, yes three times, with a man,
C'est lui qui a protégé mon âme contre la mort, afin qu'à la lumière, ma vie chante ses louanges.
Para apartar su alma del sepulcro, y para iluminarlo con la luz de los vivientes.
To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.

Prête l'oreille, Job ; écoute-moi, garde le silence, c'est à moi seul de parler.
Escucha, Job, y óyeme; calla, y yo hablaré.
Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
Mark well, Job, and listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will speak.
Cependant, si tu as de bonnes raisons, réponds-moi ; parle, je veux avec toi être juste ;
Que si tuvieres razones, respóndeme: habla, porque yo te quiero justificar.
If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
If you have anything to say, answer me. Speak, for I desire to justify you.
Sinon, écoute ; garde le silence et je t'instruirai.
Y si no, óyeme tú á mí; calla, y enseñarte he sabiduría.
If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
If not, listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.”
