POR tanto, Job, oye ahora mis razones, y escucha todas mis palabras.
Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
“However, Job, please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.
Wisse wohl: wenn ich meinen Mund jetzt auftue und meine Zunge sich vernehmlich hören läßt,
He aquí yo abriré ahora mi boca, y mi lengua hablará en mi garganta.
Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.
so sind meine Worte aufrichtig wie mein Herz, und was meine Lippen wissen, sprechen sie unverfälscht aus.
Mis razones declararán la rectitud de mi corazón, y mis labios proferirán pura sabiduría.
My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
My words will utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they will speak sincerely.

Siehe, ich stehe zu Gott ebenso wie du: aus Ton bin auch ich gebildet.
Heme aquí á mí en lugar de Dios, conforme á tu dicho: de lodo soy yo también formado.
Behold, I am according to thy wish in God’s stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
Behold, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.
Nein, Angst vor mir braucht dich nicht einzuschüchtern, und meine Wucht soll dich nicht niederdrücken!«
He aquí que mi terror no te espantará, ni mi mano se agravará sobre ti.
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
Behold, my terror will not make you afraid, neither will my pressure be heavy on you.
»Nun aber hast du vor meinen Ohren ausgesprochen, und deutlich habe ich deine Worte gehört:
De cierto tú dijiste á oídos míos, y yo oí la voz de tus palabras que decían:
Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
›Unschuldig bin ich, ohne Missetat, rein bin ich, und kein Vergehen haftet mir an!
Yo soy limpio y sin defecto; y soy inocente, y no hay maldad en mí.
I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
‘I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.
Fürwahr, er (Gott) erfindet Feindseligkeiten gegen mich, sieht in mir einen Feind;
He aquí que él buscó achaques contra mí, y me tiene por su enemigo;
Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.
er legt meine Füße in den Block, überwacht alle meine Pfade.‹
Puso mis pies en el cepo, y guardó todas mis sendas.
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

Sieh, darin hast du unrecht, entgegne ich dir; denn Gott ist größer als ein Mensch.«
He aquí en esto no has hablado justamente: yo te responderé que mayor es Dios que el hombre.
Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
“Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.
»Warum hast du den Vorwurf gegen ihn erhoben, daß er dir auf alle deine Worte keine Antwort gebe?
¿Por qué tomaste pleito contra él? Porque él no da cuenta de ninguna de sus razones.
Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
Why do you strive against him, because he doesn’t give account of any of his matters?
Vielmehr redet Gott einmal und zweimal, man achtet nur nicht darauf.
Sin embargo, en una ó en dos maneras habla Dios; mas el hombre no entiende.
For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.
Im Traum, im Nachtgesicht, wenn tiefer Schlaf die Menschen befällt, im Schlummerzustand auf dem Lager:
Por sueño de visión nocturna, cuando el sueño cae sobre los hombres, cuando se adormecen sobre el lecho;
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

da öffnet er den Menschen das Ohr und schreckt sie durch Verwarnung,
Entonces revela al oído de los hombres, y les señala su consejo;

um den Menschen von seinem (bösen) Tun abzubringen und den Mann vor Überhebung zu behüten,

Auch wird er durch Schmerzen auf seinem Lager in Zucht genommen und durch andauernden Leidenskampf in seinen Gliedern,
También sobre su cama es castigado con dolor fuerte en todos sus huesos,
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
“He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones,
so daß für seinen Lebenstrieb alle Nahrung zum Ekel wird und für seine Eßlust sogar die Lieblingsspeise;
Que le hace que su vida aborrezca el pan, y su alma la comida suave.
So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.

»Wenn dann ein Engel für ihn da ist, ein Fürsprecher, ein einziger aus den tausend, um für den Menschen Zeugnis von seiner Gerechtigkeit abzulegen,
Si tuviera cerca de él algún elocuente anunciador muy escogido, que anuncie al hombre su deber;
If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
“If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him,
und dieser sich seiner erbarmt und (zu Gott) spricht: ›Laß ihn frei, daß er nicht in die Grube hinabfährt! Ich habe eine Sühne gefunden‹,
Que le diga que Dios tuvo de él misericordia, que lo libró de descender al sepulcro, que halló redención:
Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

so strotzt sein Leib wieder von Jugendkraft, so daß er in die Tage seines Jünglingsalters zurückversetzt wird.
Enterneceráse su carne más que de niño, volverá á los días de su mocedad.
His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:

Er betet zu Gott, und dieser nimmt ihn gnädig an, läßt ihn sein Angesicht unter Jauchzen schauen und gibt dem Menschen seine Gerechtigkeit zurück.
Orará á Dios, y le amará, y verá su faz con júbilo: y él restituirá al hombre su justicia.
He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness.
Er singt vor dem Volke und bekennt: ›Ich hatte gesündigt und das Recht verkehrt, aber es ist mir nicht vergolten worden!
El mira sobre los hombres; y el que dijere: Pequé, y pervertí lo recto, y no me ha aprovechado;
He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
He sings before men, and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me.
Erlöst hat (Gott) meine Seele, daß sie nicht in die Grube gefahren ist, und mein Leben erfreut sich am Anblick des Lichts!‹«
Dios redimirá su alma, que no pase al sepulcro, y su vida se verá en luz.
He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life will see the light.’
»Sieh, dies alles tut Gott zweimal, ja dreimal an dem Menschen,
He aquí, todas estas cosas hace Dios dos y tres veces con el hombre;
Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
“Behold, God does all these things, twice, yes three times, with a man,
um seine Seele von der Grube fernzuhalten und damit er vom Licht des Lebens umleuchtet werde.

Hast du etwas einzuwenden, so widerlege mich; sprich, denn ich möchte dich gern rechtfertigen.
Que si tuvieres razones, respóndeme: habla, porque yo te quiero justificar.

Hast du aber nichts, so höre mir zu; schweige, damit ich dich Weisheit lehre!«
Y si no, óyeme tú á mí; calla, y enseñarte he sabiduría.
