POR tanto, Job, oye ahora mis razones, y escucha todas mis palabras.
Wherefore, Job, I pray thee, hear my speeches, and hearken to all my words.
“However, Job, please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.
Ecco, apro la bocca, la lingua parla sotto il mio palato.
He aquí yo abriré ahora mi boca, y mi lengua hablará en mi garganta.
Behold, now I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.
Nelle mie parole è la rettitudine del mio cuore; e le mie labbra diran sinceramente quello che so.
Mis razones declararán la rectitud de mi corazón, y mis labios proferirán pura sabiduría.
My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
My words will utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they will speak sincerely.
Lo spirito di Dio mi ha creato, e il soffio dell’Onnipotente mi dà la vita.
El espíritu de Dios me hizo, y la inspiración del Omnipotente me dió vida.
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

Se puoi, rispondimi; prepara le tue ragioni, fatti avanti!
Si pudieres, respóndeme; dispón tus palabras, está delante de mí.
If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.

Ecco, io sono uguale a te davanti a Dio; anch’io, fui tratto dall’argilla.
Heme aquí á mí en lugar de Dios, conforme á tu dicho: de lodo soy yo también formado.
Behold, I am according to thy wish in God’s stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
Behold, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.
Spavento di me non potrà quindi sgomentarti, e il peso della mia autorità non ti potrà schiacciare.
He aquí que mi terror no te espantará, ni mi mano se agravará sobre ti.
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
Behold, my terror will not make you afraid, neither will my pressure be heavy on you.
Davanti a me tu dunque hai detto (e ho bene udito il suono delle tue parole):
De cierto tú dijiste á oídos míos, y yo oí la voz de tus palabras que decían:
Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
“Io sono puro, senza peccato; sono innocente, non c’è iniquità in me;
Yo soy limpio y sin defecto; y soy inocente, y no hay maldad en mí.
I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
‘I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.
ma Dio trova contro me degli appigli ostili, mi tiene per suo nemico;
He aquí que él buscó achaques contra mí, y me tiene por su enemigo;
Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.
mi mette i piedi nei ceppi, spia tutti i miei movimenti”.
Puso mis pies en el cepo, y guardó todas mis sendas.
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.

E io ti rispondo: In questo non hai ragione; giacché Dio è più grande dell’uomo.
He aquí en esto no has hablado justamente: yo te responderé que mayor es Dios que el hombre.
Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
“Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.
Perché contendi con lui? poich’egli non rende conto d’alcuno dei suoi atti.
¿Por qué tomaste pleito contra él? Porque él no da cuenta de ninguna de sus razones.
Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
Why do you strive against him, because he doesn’t give account of any of his matters?
Iddio parla, bensì, una volta ed anche due, ma l’uomo non ci bada;
Sin embargo, en una ó en dos maneras habla Dios; mas el hombre no entiende.
For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.
parla per via di sogni, di visioni notturne, quando un sonno profondo cade sui mortali, quando sui loro letti essi giacciono assopiti;
Por sueño de visión nocturna, cuando el sueño cae sobre los hombres, cuando se adormecen sobre el lecho;
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

allora egli apre i loro orecchi e dà loro in segreto degli ammonimenti,
Entonces revela al oído de los hombres, y les señala su consejo;

per distoglier l’uomo dal suo modo d’agire e tener lungi da lui la superbia;
Para quitar al hombre de su obra, y apartar del varón la soberbia.

per salvargli l’anima dalla fossa, la vita dal dardo mortale.
Detendrá su alma de corrupción, y su vida de que pase á cuchillo.

L’uomo è anche ammonito sul suo letto, dal dolore, dall’agitazione incessante delle sue ossa;
También sobre su cama es castigado con dolor fuerte en todos sus huesos,
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
“He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones,
quand’egli ha in avversione il pane, e l’anima sua schifa i cibi più squisiti;
Que le hace que su vida aborrezca el pan, y su alma la comida suave.
So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
so that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food.
la carne gli si consuma, e sparisce, mentre le ossa, prima invisibili, gli escon fuori,
Su carne desfallece sin verse, y sus huesos, que antes no se veían, aparecen.
His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.

l’anima sua si avvicina alla fossa, e la sua vita a quelli che dànno la morte.
Y su alma se acerca al sepulcro, y su vida á los que causan la muerte.

Ma se, presso a lui, v’è un angelo, un interprete, uno solo fra i mille, che mostri all’uomo il suo dovere,
Si tuviera cerca de él algún elocuente anunciador muy escogido, que anuncie al hombre su deber;
If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
“If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him,
Iddio ha pietà di lui e dice: “Risparmialo, che non scenda nella fossa! Ho trovato il suo riscatto”.
Que le diga que Dios tuvo de él misericordia, que lo libró de descender al sepulcro, que halló redención:
Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
then God is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’
Allora la sua carne divien fresca più di quella d’un bimbo; egli torna ai giorni della sua giovinezza;
Enterneceráse su carne más que de niño, volverá á los días de su mocedad.
His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:
His flesh will be fresher than a child’s. He returns to the days of his youth.
implora Dio, e Dio gli è propizio; gli dà di contemplare il suo volto con giubilo, e lo considera di nuovo come giusto.
Orará á Dios, y le amará, y verá su faz con júbilo: y él restituirá al hombre su justicia.
He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness.
Ed egli va cantando fra la gente e dice: “Avevo peccato, pervertito la giustizia, e non sono stato punito come meritavo.
El mira sobre los hombres; y el que dijere: Pequé, y pervertí lo recto, y no me ha aprovechado;
He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
He sings before men, and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me.
Iddio ha riscattato l’anima mia, onde non scendesse nella fossa e la mia vita si schiude alla luce!”
Dios redimirá su alma, que no pase al sepulcro, y su vida se verá en luz.
He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life will see the light.’
Ecco, tutto questo Iddio lo fa due, tre volte, all’uomo,
He aquí, todas estas cosas hace Dios dos y tres veces con el hombre;
Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
“Behold, God does all these things, twice, yes three times, with a man,
per ritrarre l’anima di lui dalla fossa, perché su di lei splenda la luce della vita.
Para apartar su alma del sepulcro, y para iluminarlo con la luz de los vivientes.
To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.

Sta’ attento, Giobbe, dammi ascolto; taci, ed io parlerò.
Escucha, Job, y óyeme; calla, y yo hablaré.
Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
Mark well, Job, and listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will speak.
Se hai qualcosa da dire, rispondimi, parla, ché io vorrei poterti dar ragione.
Que si tuvieres razones, respóndeme: habla, porque yo te quiero justificar.
If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
If you have anything to say, answer me. Speak, for I desire to justify you.
Se no, tu dammi ascolto, taci, e t’insegnerò la saviezza”.
Y si no, óyeme tú á mí; calla, y enseñarte he sabiduría.
If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
If not, listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.”
