Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.

I will bring my knowledge from far away, and I will ascribe righteousness to my maker,
Tomaré mi noticia de lejos, y atribuiré justicia á mi Hacedor.

for truly my words are not falsehood; one who has perfect knowledge is with you.
Porque de cierto no son mentira mis palabras; contigo está el que es íntegro en sus conceptos.
For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

Look, God is mighty but does not despise anyone; he is mighty and ⌞good in understanding⌟.
He aquí que Dios es grande, mas no desestima á nadie: es poderoso en fuerza de sabiduría.
Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

He does not keep the wicked alive but grants justice to the afflicted.
No otorgará vida al impío, y á los afligidos dará su derecho.
He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

He does not withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but he sets them forever with kings on the throne, and they are exalted.
No quitará sus ojos del justo; antes bien con los reyes los pondrá en solio para siempre, y serán ensalzados.
He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

“And if they are tied up with fetters, if they are caught in the cords of misery,
Y si estuvieren prendidos en grillos, y aprisionados en las cuerdas de aflicción,
And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
If they are bound in fetters, and are taken in the cords of afflictions,
then he declares their work to them, and their transgressions, that they are behaving arrogantly.
El les dará á conocer la obra de ellos, y que prevalecieron sus rebeliones.

Mas si no oyeren, serán pasados á cuchillo, y perecerán sin sabiduría.

And the godless of heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them.
Empero los hipócritas de corazón lo irritarán más, y no clamarán cuando él los atare.

“But those who are godless in heart lay up anger. They don’t cry for help when he binds them.
⌞They die in their youth⌟, and their life ends among the male shrine prostitutes.

He delivers the afflicted by his misery, and he opens their ears by the adversity.

And what’s more, he allured you ⌞out of distress⌟ into a broad place, where in place of it was no constraint; and what was set on your table is full of fatness.
Asimismo te apartaría de la boca de la angustia á lugar espacioso, libre de todo apuro; y te asentará mesa llena de grosura.
Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.
Yes, he would have allured you out of distress, into a wide place, where there is no restriction. That which is set on your table would be full of fatness.
But you are obsessed with the judgment of the wicked; judgment and justice take hold of you.
Mas tú has llenado el juicio del impío, en vez de sustentar el juicio y la justicia.
But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.
“But you are full of the judgment of the wicked. Judgment and justice take hold of you.
Yes, it is wrath, so that it will not incite you into mockery; and do not let the ransom’s greatness turn you aside.
Por lo cual teme que en su ira no te quite con golpe, el cual no puedas apartar de ti con gran rescate.
Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
Don’t let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside.
Will your cry for help sustain you without distress, or all the efforts of your strength?
¿Hará él estima de tus riquezas, ni del oro, ni de todas las fuerzas del poder?
Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
Would your wealth sustain you in distress, or all the might of your strength?
You must not long for the night, to cut off people ⌞in their place⌟.

Take care, you must not turn to mischief, for because of this you have been tried by misery.
Guárdate, no tornes á la iniquidad; pues ésta escogiste más bien que la aflicción.

“Look, God is exalted in his power; who is a teacher like him?
He aquí que Dios es excelso con su potencia: ¿qué enseñador semejante á él?
Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

Who has prescribed his way for him? Or who says, ‘You have done wrong’?
¿Quién le ha prescrito su camino? ¿y quién le dirá: Iniquidad has hecho?
Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
Who has prescribed his way for him? Or who can say, ‘You have committed unrighteousness’?
Remember that you should extol his work, of which people have sung.

All human beings have looked on it; everyone watches from afar.

“Look, God is exalted, and we do not know him; the number of his years is unsearchable.
He aquí, Dios es grande, y nosotros no le conocemos; ni se puede rastrear el número de sus años.
Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

Indeed, he draws up the drops of water; he distills the rain into its mist,
El reduce las gotas de las aguas, al derramarse la lluvia según el vapor;

which the clouds pour down; they shower abundantly on human beings.

“Moreover, ⌞can anyone understand⌟ the spreading of clouds, the thundering of his dwelling place?
¿Quién podrá tampoco comprender la extensión de las nubes, y el sonido estrepitoso de su pabellón?
Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds and the thunderings of his pavilion?
Look, he scatters his lightning around him, and he covers the roots of the sea.
He aquí que sobre él extiende su luz, y cobija con ella las raíces de la mar.
Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

Indeed, he judges people by them; he gives food ⌞in abundance⌟.
Bien que por esos medios castiga á los pueblos, á la multitud da comida.
For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

He covers his hands with lightning, and he commands it the place at which to strike.
Con las nubes encubre la luz, y mándale no brillar, interponiendo aquéllas.
