1Ja, darüber erzittert mein Herz und bebt auf von seiner Stelle.
2Höret, höret das Getöse seiner Stimme und das Gemurmel, das aus seinem Munde hervorgeht!
3Er sendet es aus unter den ganzen Himmel, und seinen Blitz bis zu den Säumen der Erde.
4Nach dem Blitze brüllt eine Stimme; er donnert mit seiner erhabenen Stimme, und hält die Blitze nicht zurück, wenn seine Stimme gehört wird.
5Gott donnert wunderbar mit seiner Stimme; er tut große Dinge, die wir nicht begreifen.
6Denn zum Schnee spricht er: Falle zur Erde! und zum Regengusse und den Güssen seines gewaltigen Regens.
7Er lähmt die Hand eines jeden Menschen, damit alle Menschen sein Werk kennen lernen.
8Und das Wild geht in sein Versteck und bleibt in seinen Höhlen.
9Aus der Kammer des Südens kommt Sturm, und von den Nordwinden Kälte.
10Durch den Odem Gottes entsteht Eis, und die Breite der Wasser zieht sich zusammen.
11Auch beladet er mit Wasserfülle das Gewölk, breitet weithin aus seine Blitzwolken.
12Und unter seiner Leitung wenden sie sich ringsumher zu ihrem Werke, zu allem, was er ihnen gebietet, über die Fläche des Erdkreises hin,
13sei es, daß er sie zur Geißel, oder für seine Erde, oder zur Erweisung seiner Gnade sich entladen läßt.
14Nimm dieses zu Ohren, Hiob; stehe und betrachte die Wunder Gottes!
15Weißt du, wie Gott sie beladet, und leuchten läßt den Blitz seines Gewölks?
16Verstehst du dich auf das Schweben der Wolke, auf die Wundertaten des an Wissen Vollkommenen?
17Du, dessen Kleider heiß werden, wenn das Land schwül wird von Süden her,
18kannst du, gleich ihm, das Himmelsgewölbe ausbreiten, fest wie ein gegossener Spiegel?
19Tue uns kund, was wir ihm sagen sollen! Wir können vor Finsternis nichts vorbringen.
20Soll ihm gemeldet werden, daß ich reden wolle? Wenn jemand zu ihm spricht, er wird gewiß verschlungen werden.
21Und jetzt sieht man das Licht nicht, welches leuchtet am Himmelsgewölbe; aber ein Wind fährt daher und reinigt dasselbe.
22Aus dem Norden kommt Gold: um Gott ist furchtbare Pracht;
23den Allmächtigen, den erreichen wir nicht, den Erhabenen an Kraft; und das Recht und der Gerechtigkeit Fülle beugt er nicht.
24Darum fürchten ihn die Menschen; er sieht keine an, die weisen Herzens sind.

1A ESTO también se espanta mi corazón, y salta de su lugar.
2Oid atentamente su voz terrible, y el sonido que sale de su boca.
3Debajo de todos los cielos lo dirige, y su luz hasta los fines de la tierra.
4Después de ella bramará el sonido, tronará él con la voz de su magnificencia; y aunque sea oída su voz, no los detiene.
5Tronará Dios maravillosamente con su voz; él hace grandes cosas, que nosotros no entendemos.
6Porque á la nieve dice: Desciende á la tierra; también á la llovizna, y á los aguaceros de su fortaleza.
7Así hace retirarse á todo hombre, para que los hombres todos reconozcan su obra.
8La bestia se entrará en su escondrijo, y estaráse en sus moradas.
9Del mediodía viene el torbellino, y el frío de los vientos del norte.
10Por el soplo de Dios se da el hielo, y las anchas aguas son constreñidas.
11Regando también llega á disipar la densa nube, y con su luz esparce la niebla.
12Asimismo por sus designios se revuelven las nubes en derredor, para hacer sobre la haz del mundo, en la tierra, lo que él les mandara.
13Unas veces por azote, otras por causa de su tierra, otras por misericordia las hará parecer.
14Escucha esto, Job; repósate, y considera las maravillas de Dios.
15¿Supiste tú cuándo Dios las ponía en concierto, y hacía levantar la luz de su nube?
16¿Has tú conocido las diferencias de las nubes, las maravillas del Perfecto en sabiduría?
17¿Por qué están calientes tus vestidos cuando se fija el viento del mediodía sobre la tierra?
18¿Extendiste tú con él los cielos, firmes como un espejo sólido?
19Muéstranos qué le hemos de decir; porque nosotros no podemos componer las ideas á causa de las tinieblas.
20¿Será preciso contarle cuando yo hablaré? Por más que el hombre razone, quedará como abismado.
21He aquí aún: no se puede mirar la luz esplendente en los cielos, luego que pasa el viento y los limpia,
22Viniendo de la parte del norte la dorada claridad. En Dios hay una majestad terrible.
23El es Todopoderoso, al cual no alcanzamos, grande en potencia; y en juicio y en multitud de justicia no afligirá.
24Temerlo han por tanto los hombres: él no mira á los sabios de corazón.

1At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
2Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
3He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
4After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
5God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
6For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
7He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
8Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
9Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
10By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
11Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
12And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
13He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
14Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
15Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
16Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
17How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
18Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
19Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
20Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
21And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
22Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
23Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
24Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
World English Bible
1“Yes, at this my heart trembles, and is moved out of its place.
2Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.
3He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
4After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.
5God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.
6For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.
7He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.
8Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.
9Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.
10By the breath of God, ice is given, and the width of the waters is frozen.
11Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
12It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,
13whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.
14“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
15Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?
16Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?
17You whose clothing is warm when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?
18Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?
19Teach us what we will tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.
20Will it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?
21Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.
22Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.
23We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.
24Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
