¡Escucha, escucha el trueno de su voz!
Oid atentamente su voz terrible, y el sonido que sale de su boca.
Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice, the sound that goes out of his mouth.
Su rugido cruza los cielos y sus relámpagos dan fogonazos en todas direcciones.
Debajo de todos los cielos lo dirige, y su luz hasta los fines de la tierra.
He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
Luego viene el rugido del trueno; la tremenda voz de su majestad.
Después de ella bramará el sonido, tronará él con la voz de su magnificencia; y aunque sea oída su voz, no los detiene.
After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.
Gloriosa en el trueno es su voz. No podemos abarcar la grandeza de su poder.
Tronará Dios maravillosamente con su voz; él hace grandes cosas, que nosotros no entendemos.
God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.
Porque él dirige la nieve, las lluvias y la tormenta para que caigan sobre la tierra.
Porque á la nieve dice: Desciende á la tierra; también á la llovizna, y á los aguaceros de su fortaleza.
For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.
La obra del hombre se detiene en esas temporadas, para que en todas partes puedan reconocer su poder.
Así hace retirarse á todo hombre, para que los hombres todos reconozcan su obra.
He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.
Los animales salvajes se esconden en las rocas o en sus cuevas.
La bestia se entrará en su escondrijo, y estaráse en sus moradas.
Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.
»Del sur viene la lluvia; del norte, el frío.
Del mediodía viene el torbellino, y el frío de los vientos del norte.
Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
Out of its room comes the storm, and cold out of the north.
Dios sopla sobre los ríos, y hasta los más anchos torrentes se congelan.
Por el soplo de Dios se da el hielo, y las anchas aguas son constreñidas.
By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
By the breath of God, ice is given, and the width of the waters is frozen.
Carga de humedad las nubes, y ellas despiden el relámpago.
Regando también llega á disipar la densa nube, y con su luz esparce la niebla.
Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
Los rayos son dirigidos por su mano, y hacen en todo el mundo lo que él manda.
Asimismo por sus designios se revuelven las nubes en derredor, para hacer sobre la haz del mundo, en la tierra, lo que él les mandara.
And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world,
Por su bondad hace que vengan las nubes, ya sea para castigar o para bendecir.
Unas veces por azote, otras por causa de su tierra, otras por misericordia las hará parecer.
He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.
»Escucha, Job: detente y medita en los admirables milagros de Dios.
Escucha esto, Job; repósate, y considera las maravillas de Dios.
Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
¿Sabes cómo domina Dios la naturaleza y hace que de las nubes broten relámpagos?
¿Supiste tú cuándo Dios las ponía en concierto, y hacía levantar la luz de su nube?
Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?
¿Comprendes el equilibrio de las nubes, su perfección y sabia disposición? ¿Sabes por qué sientes calor cuando sopla el viento del sur y todo está en calma?
¿Has tú conocido las diferencias de las nubes, las maravillas del Perfecto en sabiduría?
Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

¿Por qué están calientes tus vestidos cuando se fija el viento del mediodía sobre la tierra?
How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
You whose clothing is warm when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?
¿Puedes tú extender el gigantesco espejo de los cielos como lo hace él?
¿Extendiste tú con él los cielos, firmes como un espejo sólido?
Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?
»Tú que presumes de saber tanto, enséñanos a los demás cómo debemos acercarnos a Dios. ¡Porque somos demasiado torpes! Con tu sabiduría, ¿nos atreveríamos a acercárnosle? ¿Desearía el hombre que se lo tragaran vivo?
Muéstranos qué le hemos de decir; porque nosotros no podemos componer las ideas á causa de las tinieblas.
Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
Teach us what we will tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.

¿Será preciso contarle cuando yo hablaré? Por más que el hombre razone, quedará como abismado.
Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
Will it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?
Porque así como no podemos mirar directamente al sol cuando el viento ha dispersado las nubes,
He aquí aún: no se puede mirar la luz esplendente en los cielos, luego que pasa el viento y los limpia,
And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
Now men don’t see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.
no podemos contemplar la terrible majestad de Dios que desde el cielo irrumpe sobre nosotros, vestida con deslumbrante esplendor.
Viniendo de la parte del norte la dorada claridad. En Dios hay una majestad terrible.
Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.
No podemos imaginar el poder del Todopoderoso, y sin embargo, él es tan justo y misericordioso que no nos destruye.
El es Todopoderoso, al cual no alcanzamos, grande en potencia; y en juicio y en multitud de justicia no afligirá.
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.
Él no toma en cuenta a los que se creen sabios; por eso le temen los mortales».
Temerlo han por tanto los hombres: él no mira á los sabios de corazón.
Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
