“Do you know the time when the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch when the doe bears fawns?
As-tu compté les mois qu’elles accomplissent, et connais-tu le temps où elles mettent bas ?
Cuando están echados en las cuevas, ó se están en sus guaridas para acechar?
Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
Can you count the months that they fulfill? Or do you know the time when they give birth?
Elles se courbent, elles enfantent leur portée, elles se délivrent de leurs douleurs.
¿Quién preparó al cuervo su alimento, cuando sus pollos claman á Dios, bullendo de un lado á otro por carecer de comida?
They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

Il se rit du tumulte de la ville, il n’entend pas le cri du conducteur.

Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
Can you hold the wild ox in the furrow with his harness? Or will he till the valleys after you?
Auras-tu confiance en lui, parce que sa force est grande, et lui abandonneras-tu ton labeur ?
Lo oculto de los montes es su pasto, y anda buscando todo lo que está verde.
Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

Te fieras-tu à lui pour rentrer ce que tu as semé, et rassemblera-t-il le blé dans ton aire ?
¿Querrá el unicornio servirte á ti, ni quedar á tu pesebre?
Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?
Will you confide in him, that he will bring home your seed, and gather the grain of your threshing floor?
L’aile de l’autruche bat joyeusement : ce sont les plumes et le plumage de la cigogne ;
¿Atarás tú al unicornio con su coyunda para el surco? ¿labrará los valles en pos de ti?
Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, but are they the feathers and plumage of love?
Toutefois elle abandonne ses œufs à la terre et les chauffe sur la poussière,
¿Confiarás tú en él, por ser grande su fortaleza, y le fiarás tu labor?
Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,
For she leaves her eggs on the earth, warms them in the dust,
Et elle oublie que le pied peut les écraser et la bête des champs les fouler ;
¿Fiarás de él que te tornará tu simiente, y que la allegará en tu era?
And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

Elle est dure avec ses petits comme s’ils n’étaient pas à elle ; son labeur est vain, sans qu’elle s’en émeuve.

Endurécese para con sus hijos, como si no fuesen suyos, no temiendo que su trabajo haya sido en vano:
Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?

Est-ce toi qui le fais bondir comme la sauterelle ? Son ronflement magnifique est terrible.
Porque le privó Dios de sabiduría, y no le dió inteligencia.
Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.
Have you made him to leap as a locust? The glory of his snorting is awesome.
Il creuse le sol dans la plaine et se réjouit de sa force ; il sort à la rencontre des armes ;
Luego que se levanta en alto, búrlase del caballo y de su jinete.
He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.

Il se rit de la frayeur et ne s’épouvante pas, et il ne se tourne pas devant l’épée.
¿Diste tú al caballo la fortaleza? ¿vestiste tú su cerviz de relincho?

Sur lui retentit le carquois, brillent la lance et le javelot.

Il demeure dans les rochers et y fait son habitation, sur la dent du rocher et sur les hautes cimes.
Antes como que dice entre los clarines: ¡Ea!, y desde lejos huele la batalla, el grito de los capitanes, y la vocería.
She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

De là il épie sa nourriture, ses yeux regardent dans le lointain.
¿Vuela el gavilán por tu industria, y extiende hacia el mediodía sus alas?

Sus pollos chupan la sangre: y donde hubiere cadáveres, allí está. A más de eso respondió Jehová á Job, y dijo: ¿Es sabiduría contender con el Omnipotente? El que disputa con Dios, responda á esto. Y respondió Job á Jehová, y dijo: He aquí que yo soy vil, ¿qué te responderé? Mi mano pongo sobre mi boca. Una vez hablé, y no responderé: aun dos veces, mas no tornaré á hablar.
