¿CAZARÁS tú la presa para el león? ¿y saciarás el hambre de los leoncillos,
Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?
“Do you know the time when the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch when the doe bears fawns?
Quand ils se tapissent dans leurs repaires, quand ils sont aux aguets dans les fourrés ?
Cuando están echados en las cuevas, ó se están en sus guaridas para acechar?
Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
Can you count the months that they fulfill? Or do you know the time when they give birth?
Qui apprête la nourriture au corbeau, quand ses petits crient vers Dieu et volent çà et là, n’ayant rien à manger ?
¿Quién preparó al cuervo su alimento, cuando sus pollos claman á Dios, bullendo de un lado á otro por carecer de comida?
They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.

Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.

“Who has set the wild donkey free? Or who has loosened the bonds of the swift donkey,
Elles se courbent, elles font sortir leurs petits, et se délivrent de leurs douleurs ;
Encórvanse, hacen salir sus hijos, pasan sus dolores.
Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.

Leurs petits se fortifient, ils croissent en plein air, ils s’en vont et ne reviennent plus vers elles.
Sus hijos están sanos, crecen con el pasto: salen y no vuelven á ellas.

Il se rit du bruit de la ville ; il n’entend pas les clameurs de l’ânier.
Búrlase de la multitud de la ciudad: no oye las voces del arriero.
Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
Can you hold the wild ox in the furrow with his harness? Or will he till the valleys after you?
Il parcourt les montagnes qui sont ses pâturages, il cherche partout de la verdure.
Lo oculto de los montes es su pasto, y anda buscando todo lo que está verde.
Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

Le buffle veut-il te servir ? Passe-t-il la nuit auprès de ta crèche ?

Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, but are they the feathers and plumage of love?
Te fies-tu à lui parce que sa force est grande, et lui abandonnes- tu ton travail ?
¿Confiarás tú en él, por ser grande su fortaleza, y le fiarás tu labor?
Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,
For she leaves her eggs on the earth, warms them in the dust,
Comptes-tu sur lui pour rentrer ton grain, et pour l’amasser sur ton aire ?
¿Fiarás de él que te tornará tu simiente, y que la allegará en tu era?
And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

Elle est dure envers ses petits, comme s’ils n’étaient pas siens. Son travail est vain, elle ne s’en inquiète pas.
Endurécese para con sus hijos, como si no fuesen suyos, no temiendo que su trabajo haya sido en vano:
Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?
“Have you given the horse might? Have you clothed his neck with a quivering mane?
Car Dieu l’a privée de sagesse, et ne lui a point départi d’intelligence.
Porque le privó Dios de sabiduría, y no le dió inteligencia.
Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.
Have you made him to leap as a locust? The glory of his snorting is awesome.
Quand elle se lève, et bat des ailes, elle se moque du cheval et de son cavalier.

¿Diste tú al caballo la fortaleza? ¿vestiste tú su cerviz de relincho?
He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.

Le fais-tu bondir comme la sauterelle ? Son fier hennissement donne la terreur.
¿Le intimidarás tú como á alguna langosta? El resoplido de su nariz es formidable:
The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.

Y él con ímpetu y furor escarba la tierra, sin importarle el sonido de la bocina;

Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up, and makes his nest on high?
Dès qu’il entend la trompette, il hennit ; il sent de loin la bataille, la voix tonnante des chefs et les clameurs des guerriers.
Antes como que dice entre los clarines: ¡Ea!, y desde lejos huele la batalla, el grito de los capitanes, y la vocería.
She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.

¿Se remonta el águila por tu mandamiento, y pone en alto su nido? Ella habita y está en la piedra, en la cumbre del peñasco y de la roca. Desde allí acecha la comida: sus ojos observan de muy lejos. Sus pollos chupan la sangre: y donde hubiere cadáveres, allí está. A más de eso respondió Jehová á Job, y dijo: ¿Es sabiduría contender con el Omnipotente? El que disputa con Dios, responda á esto. Y respondió Job á Jehová, y dijo: He aquí que yo soy vil, ¿qué te responderé? Mi mano pongo sobre mi boca. Una vez hablé, y no responderé: aun dos veces, mas no tornaré á hablar.

Je suis trop peu de chose ; que te répondrais-je ? Je mets ma main sur ma bouche.

J’ai parlé une fois, et je ne répondrai plus. J’ai parlé deux fois, et je n’y retournerai plus.
