Endlich öffnete Hiob den Mund und verfluchte den Tag seiner Geburt,

DESPUÉS de esto abrió Job su boca, y maldijo su día.

After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day.

»Vernichtet sei der Tag, an dem ich geboren wurde, und die Nacht, die da verkündete: ›Ein Mann ist empfangen worden!‹

Perezca el día en que yo nací, y la noche que se dijo: Varón es concebido.

Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.

Jener Tag möge zu Finsternis werden! Nicht kümmere sich um ihn Gott in der Höhe, und kein Tageslicht möge über ihm erglänzen!

Nein, Finsternis und Todesschatten mögen ihn als ihr Eigentum zurückfordern, Wolkendunkel sich über ihm lagern, Verdüsterung des Tageslichts ihn schreckensvoll machen!

Aféenlo tinieblas y sombra de muerte; repose sobre él nublado, que lo haga horrible como caliginoso día.

Warum bin ich nicht gleich vom Mutterleibe weg gestorben, nicht dem Tode verfallen, als ich aus dem Mutterschoß hervorgekommen war?

Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

Weshalb haben sich mir Knie liebreich dargeboten und wozu Brüste, daß ich an ihnen trinken konnte?

Denn Seufzen ist für mich das tägliche Brot, und gleich dem Wasser ergießt sich meine laute Klage.

Denn bebe ich vor etwas Furchtbarem, so trifft es bei mir ein, und wovor mir graut, das bricht über mich herein:

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

No he tenido paz, no me aseguré, ni me estuve reposado; vínome no obstante turbación.
