"Que pereça o dia em que eu nasci e a noite que disse: 'Um menino foi concebido!'.
Perezca el día en que yo nací, y la noche que se dijo: Varón es concebido.
Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.

Que aquele dia seja escuro; e que Deus, lá do alto, não o considere, nem deixe a luz do sol brilhar sobre ele.
Sea aquel día sombrío, y Dios no cuide de él desde arriba, ni claridad sobre él resplandezca.
Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.

Que as trevas e a sombra da morte reivindiquem-no para eles mesmos; que a nuvem viva sobre ele; que todas as coisas que fazem o dia negro possam verdadeiramente aterrorizá-lo.
Aféenlo tinieblas y sombra de muerte; repose sobre él nublado, que lo haga horrible como caliginoso día.
Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.

Que densas trevas se apoderem daquela noite; que não se regozije ela entre os dias do ano; nem seja contada entre os dias dos meses.

As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.

Seja aquela noite estéril; e, nela, não se ouça som de júbilo.

Que eles amaldiçoem aquele dia, aqueles que sabem como acordar o Leviatã.

porque não fechou as portas do ventre da minha mãe, nem escondeu o sofrimento diante dos meus olhos.

Por que eu não morri quando eu sai do ventre da minha mãe? Por que não rendi o espírito quando minha mãe me deu à luz?

Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

Por que seus joelhos me receberam? Por que me amamentariam os seios da minha mãe?
¿Por qué me previnieron las rodillas? ¿y para qué las tetas que mamase?
Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?
Why did the knees receive me? Or why the breast, that I should nurse?
Agora eu estaria repousando tranquilamente. Eu dormiria e descansaria
Pues que ahora yaciera yo, y reposara; durmiera, y entonces tuviera reposo,
For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,

com reis e conselheiros da terra, que construíram tumbas para si que agora estão em ruínas.
Con los reyes y con los consejeros de la tierra, que edifican para sí los desiertos;

Ou eu estaria deitado com príncipes que uma vez tiveram ouro, que encheram suas casas com prata.
