Job 40

Et l’Éternel répondit à Job et dit :

ENTONCES respondió Jehová á Job desde la oscuridad, y dijo:

Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

Moreover the LORD answered Job,

Celui qui conteste avec le Tout-puissant l’instruira-t-il ? Celui qui reprend ✝Dieu, qu’il réponde à cela !

Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame.

Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

“Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”

Et Job répondit à l’Éternel et dit :

¿Invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿me condenarás á mí, para justificarte á ti?

Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

Voici, je suis une créature de rien, que te répliquerai-je ? Je mettrai ma main sur ma bouche.

¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿y tronarás tú con voz como él?

Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

“Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.

J’ai parlé une fois, et je ne répondrai plus ; et deux fois, et je n’ajouterai rien.

Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza: y vístete de honra y de hermosura.

Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”

*Et l’Éternel répondit à Job du milieu du tourbillon et dit :

Esparce furores de tu ira: y mira á todo soberbio, y abátelo.

Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind:

Ceins tes reins comme un homme ; je t’interrogerai, et tu m’instruiras !

Mira á todo soberbio, y humíllalo, y quebranta á los impíos en su asiento.

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

“Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.

Veux-tu donc anéantir mon jugement ? Me démontreras-tu inique afin de te justifier ?

Encúbrelos á todos en el polvo, venda sus rostros en la oscuridad;

Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?

As-tu un bras comme ✶Dieu, et tonneras-tu de ta voix comme lui ?

Y yo también te confesaré que podrá salvarte tu diestra.

Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?

Pare-toi, je te prie, de grandeur et de magnificence ; revêts-toi de majesté et de gloire !

He aquí ahora behemoth, al cual yo hice contigo; hierba come como buey.

Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

“Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.

Répands les fureurs de ta colère, et regarde tout ce qui s’élève et abaisse-le ;

He aquí ahora que su fuerza está en sus lomos, y su fortaleza en el ombligo de su vientre.

Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.

Regarde tout ce qui s’élève †et humilie-le, et écrase sur place les méchants ;

Su cola mueve como un cedro, y los nervios de sus genitales son entretejidos.

Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.

Cache-les ensemble dans la poussière, lie leurs faces dans un lieu caché :

Sus huesos son fuertes como bronce, y sus miembros como barras de hierro.

Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

Alors moi aussi je te célébrerai, parce que ta droite te sauve !

El es la cabeza de los caminos de Dios: el que lo hizo, puede hacer que su cuchillo á él se acerque.

Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.

Vois le béhémoth, que j’ai fait avec toi : il mange l’herbe comme le bœuf.

Ciertamente los montes producen hierba para él: y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.

Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

“See now behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.

Regarde donc : sa force est dans ses reins, et sa puissance dans les muscles de son ventre.

Echaráse debajo de las sombras, en lo oculto de las cañas, y de los lugares húmedos.

Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.

Il courbe sa queue comme un cèdre ; les nerfs de sa cuisse sont entrelacés ;

Los árboles sombríos lo cubren con su sombra; los sauces del arroyo lo cercan.

He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.

Ses os sont des tubes d’airain, ses membres sont des barres de fer !

He aquí que él tomará el río sin inmutarse: y confíase que el Jordán pasará por su boca.

His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron.

Il est la première des voies de ✶Dieu : celui qui l’a fait lui a fourni son épée.

¿Tomarálo alguno por sus ojos en armadijos, y horadará su nariz?

He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.

Car les montagnes lui apportent †sa pâture, là où se jouent toutes les bêtes des champs.

Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.

Il se couche sous les lotus dans une retraite de roseaux et de marécages ;

—

He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.

Les lotus le couvrent de leur ombre, les saules de la rivière l’environnent.

The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.

Voici, que le fleuve déborde avec violence, il ne se précipite pas ; il est plein d’assurance si un Jourdain se jette contre sa gueule.

Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.

Le prendra-t-on en face ? Lui percera-t-on le nez dans une trappe ?

He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?

Tireras-tu le léviathan avec un hameçon, et avec une corde lui feras-tu y enfoncer sa langue ?

Lui mettras-tu un jonc dans le nez, et lui perceras-tu la mâchoire avec un crochet ?

—

Te fera-t-il beaucoup de supplications, ou te dira-t-il des choses douces ?

Fera-t-il une alliance avec toi ? Le prendras-tu comme serviteur à toujours ?

—

Joueras-tu avec lui comme avec un oiseau, et l’attacheras-tu pour tes jeunes filles ?

—

Des associés feront-ils trafic de lui ? Le partageront-ils entre des marchands ?

—

—

—

Rempliras-tu sa peau de dards, et sa tête de harpons à poissons ?

—

—

Mets ta main sur lui : souviens-toi de la bataille, – n’y reviens pas !
