Et l’Éternel répondit à Job du sein de la tempête, et dit :
ENTONCES respondió Jehová á Job desde la oscuridad, y dijo:
Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

Ceins tes reins, comme un vaillant homme ; je t’interrogerai, et tu m’instruiras.
Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame.
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
“Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”
Est-ce que tu voudrais anéantir ma justice ? me condamner pour te justifier ?
¿Invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿me condenarás á mí, para justificarte á ti?
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
Then Job answered the LORD,
As-tu un bras comme celui de Dieu ; tonnes-tu de la voix, comme lui ?
¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿y tronarás tú con voz como él?
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
“Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.
Pare-toi donc de magnificence et de grandeur ; et revêts-toi de majesté et de gloire.
Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza: y vístete de honra y de hermosura.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”
Répands les fureurs de ta colère, d’un regard humilie tous les orgueilleux ;
Esparce furores de tu ira: y mira á todo soberbio, y abátelo.
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

D’un regard abaisse tous les orgueilleux, et écrase les méchants sur place.
Mira á todo soberbio, y humíllalo, y quebranta á los impíos en su asiento.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
“Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.
Cache-les tous ensemble dans la poussière, et enferme leurs visages dans les ténèbres.
Encúbrelos á todos en el polvo, venda sus rostros en la oscuridad;
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?
Alors, moi aussi, je te louerai, car ta main t’aura aidé.
Y yo también te confesaré que podrá salvarte tu diestra.
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?
Vois donc le Béhémoth, que j’ai fait aussi bien que toi ; il mange l’herbe comme le bœuf ;
He aquí ahora behemoth, al cual yo hice contigo; hierba come como buey.
Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
“Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.
Vois donc : sa force est dans ses flancs, et sa vigueur dans les muscles de son ventre.
He aquí ahora que su fuerza está en sus lomos, y su fortaleza en el ombligo de su vientre.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.
Il remue sa queue semblable au cèdre ; les tendons de ses hanches sont entrelacés.
Su cola mueve como un cedro, y los nervios de sus genitales son entretejidos.
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.
Ses os sont des tubes d’airain, ses membres sont comme des barres de fer.
Sus huesos son fuertes como bronce, y sus miembros como barras de hierro.
Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.
C’est le chef-d’œuvre de Dieu, son créateur lui a donné son épée.
El es la cabeza de los caminos de Dios: el que lo hizo, puede hacer que su cuchillo á él se acerque.
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.
Les montagnes portent pour lui leur herbe ; là se jouent toutes les bêtes des champs.
Ciertamente los montes producen hierba para él: y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
“See now behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.
Il se couche sous les lotus, dans l’ombre des roseaux et dans le limon.
Echaráse debajo de las sombras, en lo oculto de las cañas, y de los lugares húmedos.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.
Les lotus le couvrent de leur ombre, et les saules du torrent l’environnent.
Los árboles sombríos lo cubren con su sombra; los sauces del arroyo lo cercan.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
Vois, le fleuve déborde avec violence, il n’a point peur ; il serait tranquille quand le Jourdain monterait à sa gueule.
He aquí que él tomará el río sin inmutarse: y confíase que el Jordán pasará por su boca.
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron.
Qu’on le prenne à force ouverte ! Ou qu’à l’aide de filets on lui perce le nez !
¿Tomarálo alguno por sus ojos en armadijos, y horadará su nariz?
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.
Tu tireras le Léviathan avec un hameçon ? et tu serreras sa langue avec une corde ?

Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.
Mettras-tu un jonc dans ses narines, perceras-tu sa joue avec un crochet ?

He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.
T’adressera-t-il beaucoup de prières, et te dira-t-il de douces paroles ?
—
The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.
Fera-t-il un accord avec toi, et le prendras-tu pour esclave à toujours ?
—
Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.
En joueras-tu comme d’un oiseau, et l’attacheras-tu pour amuser tes filles ?

He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
Les associés en feront-ils commerce, le partageront-ils entre des marchands ?

Perceras-tu sa peau d’un dard, et sa tête d’un harpon ?

Mets ta main sur lui : tu te souviendras de la bataille, et tu n’y reviendras pas.
