Then Yahweh answered Job and said,

“Shall a faultfinder contend with Shaddai? Anyone who argues with God must answer it.”
Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame.
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
“Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”
So Job answered Yahweh and said,
¿Invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿me condenarás á mí, para justificarte á ti?
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

“Look, I am insignificant. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.
¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿y tronarás tú con voz como él?
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
“Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.
Once I have spoken, and I will not answer; even twice, but I will not proceed.”
Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza: y vístete de honra y de hermosura.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”
Then Yahweh answered Job from the storm, and he said,
Esparce furores de tu ira: y mira á todo soberbio, y abátelo.
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

“⌞Prepare yourself for a difficult task like a man⌟, and I will question you, and you shall declare to me.
Mira á todo soberbio, y humíllalo, y quebranta á los impíos en su asiento.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
“Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.
“Indeed, would you annul my justice? Would you condemn me, so that you might be righteous?
Encúbrelos á todos en el polvo, venda sus rostros en la oscuridad;
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?
Or do you have an arm like God, and can you thunder with a voice like his?
Y yo también te confesaré que podrá salvarte tu diestra.
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?
Adorn yourself with pride and dignity, and clothe yourself with splendor.
He aquí ahora behemoth, al cual yo hice contigo; hierba come como buey.
Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
“Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.
Pour out the overflowing of your anger, and look at all the proud, and humble them.
He aquí ahora que su fuerza está en sus lomos, y su fortaleza en el ombligo de su vientre.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.
Look at all the proud, humble them, and tread down the wicked ⌞where they stand⌟.

“Look, Behemoth, which I have made just as I made you; it eats grass like the ox.
Ciertamente los montes producen hierba para él: y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
“See now behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.
Look, its strength is in its loins and its power in the muscles of its stomach.
Echaráse debajo de las sombras, en lo oculto de las cañas, y de los lugares húmedos.

It keeps its tail straight like a cedar; the sinews of its thighs are tightly wound.

“It is the first of God’s actions; the one who made him furnishes it with his sword.
¿Tomarálo alguno por sus ojos en armadijos, y horadará su nariz?
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

Yes, the mountains yield produce for it, and all ⌞wild animals⌟ play there.

Look, if the river is turbulent, it is not frightened; it is confident even though the Jordan rushes against its mouth.

Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.
Can anyone take it by its eyes? Can he pierce its nose with a snare?

Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?
