Job 40

Hierauf wandte sich der HERR weiter an Hiob mit der Frage:

ENTONCES respondió Jehová á Job desde la oscuridad, y dijo:

Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

»Hadern will der Tadler mit dem Allmächtigen? Der Ankläger Gottes gebe Antwort darauf!«

Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame.

Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

“Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”

Da antwortete Hiob dem HERRN:

¿Invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿me condenarás á mí, para justificarte á ti?

Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

Then Job answered the LORD,

»Ach, ich bin zu gering: was soll ich dir entgegnen? Ich lege meine Hand auf den Mund!

¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿y tronarás tú con voz como él?

Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

“Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.

Einmal habe ich geredet, werde aber nichts mehr entgegnen; und noch ein zweites Mal habe ich es getan, doch niemals tue ich es wieder.«

Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza: y vístete de honra y de hermosura.

Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”

Weiter antwortete der HERR dem Hiob aus dem Wettersturm heraus folgendermaßen:

Esparce furores de tu ira: y mira á todo soberbio, y abátelo.

Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind:

»Auf! Gürte dir die Lenden wie ein Mann: ich will dich fragen, und du belehre mich!

Mira á todo soberbio, y humíllalo, y quebranta á los impíos en su asiento.

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

“Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me.

Willst du wirklich mein Recht zunichte machen, mich schuldig sprechen, damit du als gerecht dastehst?«

Encúbrelos á todos en el polvo, venda sus rostros en la oscuridad;

Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?

»Hast du etwa einen Arm wie Gott, und vermagst du den Donner so laut rollen zu lassen wie er?

Y yo también te confesaré que podrá salvarte tu diestra.

Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him?

So schmücke dich doch mit Erhabenheit und Hoheit und kleide dich in Pracht und Herrlichkeit!

He aquí ahora behemoth, al cual yo hice contigo; hierba come como buey.

Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

“Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty.

Laß die Ausbrüche deines Zorns sich ergießen! Und gewahrst du irgendeinen Hochmütigen, so wirf ihn nieder!

He aquí ahora que su fuerza está en sus lomos, y su fortaleza en el ombligo de su vientre.

Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.

Ja, gewahrst du irgendeinen Hochmütigen, so demütige ihn und stürze die Frevler nieder, wo sie stehen!

Su cola mueve como un cedro, y los nervios de sus genitales son entretejidos.

Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place.

Laß sie allesamt tief in den Staub sinken, laß ihr Angesicht erstarren in Todesgrauen!

Sus huesos son fuertes como bronce, y sus miembros como barras de hierro.

Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place.

Dann will auch ich dich lobend anerkennen, daß deine Rechte dir den Sieg verliehen hat.«

El es la cabeza de los caminos de Dios: el que lo hizo, puede hacer que su cuchillo á él se acerque.

Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.

»Sieh doch das Nilpferd an, das ich geschaffen habe wie dich: von Pflanzen nährt es sich wie das Rind!

Ciertamente los montes producen hierba para él: y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.

Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

“See now behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox.

Sieh doch, welche Kraft bei ihm in den Lenden wohnt und welche Stärke in den Muskeln seines Leibes!

Echaráse debajo de las sombras, en lo oculto de las cañas, y de los lugares húmedos.

Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly.

Es macht seinen Schwanz so starr wie eine Zeder; die Sehnen seiner Schenkel sind fest verflochten.

Los árboles sombríos lo cubren con su sombra; los sauces del arroyo lo cercan.

He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together.

Seine Knochen sind Röhren von Erz, seine Gebeine gleich geschmiedeten Eisenstangen.

He aquí que él tomará el río sin inmutarse: y confíase que el Jordán pasará por su boca.

His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron.

Es ist der Erstling der schöpferischen Tätigkeit Gottes; sein Bildner hat ihm auch sein Schwert verliehen.

¿Tomarálo alguno por sus ojos en armadijos, y horadará su nariz?

He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword.

Denn Futter liefern ihm die Anhöhen, wo alle wilden Landtiere spielen.

Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play.

Unter Lotusbüschen lagert es sich, im Versteck von Schilfrohr und Sumpf;

—

He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.

Lotusbüsche geben ihm Deckung mit ihrem Schattendach, und die Weiden des Baches umgeben es.

The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him.

Selbst wenn der Strom mächtig anschwillt, gerät es nicht in Unruhe: es bleibt wohlgemut, wenn auch ein Jordan gegen seinen Rachen andringt.

Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.

Wer will es von vorn packen, wer mit einem Fangseil ihm die Nase durchbohren?

He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare?

Kannst du das Krokodil am Angelhaken heranziehen und ihm die Zunge mit der Schnur niederdrücken?

Kannst du ihm einen Binsenring durch die Nase ziehen und einen Dorn durch seinen Kinnbacken bohren?

—

—

Meinst du, es werde viele Bitten an dich richten oder dir gute Worte geben?

—

Wird es einen Vertrag mit dir schließen, wonach du es für immer in deine Dienste nähmest?

—

—

Wirst du mit ihm spielen wie mit einem Vöglein und es zur Kurzweil für deine Mägdlein anbinden?

—

—

—

Treibt die Fischerzunft Handel mit ihm, daß sie es stückweise an die Händler abgibt?

—

—

—

Kannst du ihm die Haut mit Spießen spicken und seinen Kopf mit Fischerhaken durchbohren?

—

—

—

Vergreife dich nur einmal an ihm: mache dich auf Kampf gefaßt! Du wirst’s gewiß nicht wieder tun!
